Today we take the Garlic of Halls of Torment, the Radiant Aura, and instead of going for it alone we create a full build around it. On the Radiant Aura we fully focus on size and attack speed, while we use the Lightning Strike to stack up damaging effects but mainly unlocking additional traits, and top this off by using the Transfixion to apply further debuffs but also unlock a debuff trait we wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Then we round this whole build up by increasing the damage of our main weapon to turn into an absolute nuke that will use all of the debuffs and turn into an absolute boss killer.

I think the problem with the weapon stats screen is that it only accoutns for general upgrades, effect on hit chance will only increase if youget a bonus to "effect on hit chance", but electrify chance is a specific upgrade so it does not show. Similar to how transfixion can get bonus effet chance on crit but it does not get listed in the stats screen of the weapon.
I love this game. Using potions to stack different builds feels so brokenly fun
If you want to see silly electrify damage, try an Exterminator run with Ring of Thunder and Thunder Crown. His high base attack speed along with it being magical damage means many electrify stacks just from the base attack. Even more with Kugelblitz and Thunder Strike. My electrify DPS on the final boss was like 46k/s.

Just found this game and your channel. Vampire Survivors, while I think it's a wonderful game, just didn't stick for me but Halls of Torment is TOTALLY different. Can't stop playing. And also your excitement is infectious. I literally laughed out loud when you giggled at the end. :D Thanks.
vampire survivors was one of the my favorite games of year and i agree, this game just looks like it improves on everything. the builds seem so much more in depth.
My two fastest kills for the last boss were with Sorceress (Double Voltage 1-2-3) were after 3 consecutive crits the boss died within 3 seconds from the Electrify stacks and after that with Shield Maiden (Double Weapon Proficiency Mace 1-2-3) and going full tank max DEF (def over block) and utilizing Thornfists gloves (weapon critical damage and every critical damage upgrade increases the Thornfists dmg effect!). You just walk INSIDE the boss so it hits you non stop - everytime the boss hits you - Thornfists Gloves were hitting the boss for 25k dmg! Boss died within 5 seconds! (Literally a "stop hitting yourself" situation!)
I love how Dex pronounce fragility - fertility. Stacking with the balls it make perfect sense

they really need to add a new zone or add difficulty mods next. Because right now once you get most of the upgrades its actually kindof difficult to lose.

This is genious, the longer the boss the more dmg you would do to the boss exponantialy
from what i saw each lighting hit was applying 2-3 stacks of electrify i think 2 from the hit with the 100% more and 1 from from the on stun effect so ya i think it was working even if it did not show on the stat card
all the dev needs to do for this game is allow mod support. a game like this is so easy to make new levels and enemies if the devs let us. SO EXCITED for what this will be.
It probably went from zero point something, straight up to 1, meaning you hit 100% chance to electrify. A solid 1 for a chance is always an AMAZING result when dealing with fractions or percentiles. @Dex

would be fun to take the spellcaster gloves and stop auto attacking later in the run to see how the weapons perform on their own with the extra damage, great video as always! ^^
problem is that multi hit gloves are way better dps buff for the weapons than the 66% increased damage since u already get huge amount of increased damage from other sources, before they changed it it used to give 200% bonus damage which was really good

For me. Radient Aura and Orbs are like peanut butter and Jam. If i can, i always get those 2. That being said. Thanks to you, i now have a better understanding on how the mechanics work. Like memorizing potions. and that tiered upgrades. i always thought it was just what you got and not that you could wait for a different one.
Pro tip with the playstyle of aura and clerics weapon, since it divides the dmg up between all enemies all you need to do is intentionally hit less enemies to clear faster. So instead of being point blank in the boss’s face you should be at max range avoiding enemies as much as possible and you’ll melt them every time
noticed it for lightning strike too, the first level 3 repercussion that's SUPPOSED to give +50% electric chance is reverse.
however the other 2 level ups for repercussion will give the +50% not -50%
not sure if the -50% is a typo or actually calculating that way
The wiki also tells you about that typo. It is +50% electrify and -66 base damage

Cleric with both elemental rings, sparking tips, and thunder crown. Radiant Aura and Phantom Needles. Max size for main and aura. Chaos Storm.
You don’t need to have all the upgrades you want in a single shop to use the potion of memories. You can lock one you want, and then keep rolling levels or wines to get the others you want. You can even lock another and keep rolling again. The ONLY way of removing a memorized upgrade is to pick it or banish it.
Also, don’t just look at the upgrade’s text, look at the name of it. Repercussion for Lightning Strike has a bugged text box. It is reversed with damage and electrify chance, but it works correctly.
Charge also reduces damage by 5%, hence why it went from -50 +15% to -50 +10%.
Yea, I didnt lock singular upgrades because I'd then rather just wait until all come in, when I had 2 of them I locked 2 and rolled. In a case where I need 3 I feel like its a waste to lock 1 and waiting to get the other 2, you may be stuck for quite some time with them. And worst case you may get forced into rolling, like lets say where I have 2 locked and then 2 upgrades for Lightning Strike show up that I dont want to take.
Dont get me wrong, I think in most cases its just easier to always lock them right away, but if I dont feel forced to do it as fast as possible I rather prefer a 0% failure approach.
The issue with Repercussion was the description on the left, it didn't list damage, while for the other one it did. Repercussion should increase Electrify chance while decreasing damage, so both should be available. And the numbers were also flipped on both upgrades, so I wasn't sure if that's a text bug or there is something more fishy going on
@@DexTag yeah I discovered the repercussion bug while going for the Electrify stacks achievement. And yeah I get it for 3 upgrades. I was also surprised at the amount of burn damage dealt a the end, was waiting ti get the burn ring for that Cleric achievement, might just go for something like this.

@22:00 The wording is different on repercussion on the final stage. If you look it has a positive for 50% Electrifry chance.

Hey Dex, have you tried base weapon only warlock? Use the tinkture potions to double the effects of the first three bloodletting damage traits. Use memories to get both traits from proficient stance 2, 3, 4 and weapon proficiency 3 and 4.
Invocator's grasp gloves and either the fire/lightning rings for the affinities or the summons rings.
The end damage reports can get into the mid 20 millions and are similar or better than some of the actual abilities by themselves.
This is a build id love to see... Also id love to see them add another summon ability to the game...
@@alystral7817 Did a run and doubled up on the projectiles instead of the bloodletting damage and it absolutely slaps for a base weapon. Over 30 mill not including burning damage. Doesn't kill the bosses super fast but wave clear is crazy for just a base weapon.
Ruby Circlet, Guiding star, Ring of fire, Dualist spark, Invocator's grasp, Hunters Garb and whatever boots you want.
Tincture - Dedication: Bloodletting IV, Proficient Stance: Summon enhancement IV and Weapon Proficiency: Enhancement III.
Memories - Proficient Stance II, III, IV and Weapon Proficiency III, IV to get both available traits. Go damage for everything else.
Also did a run like this but with the addition of ability cards. Golem, Lightning Strikes and Arcane Splinters. Craziness, nothing gets close. The best part is you can wait until leveling all the base skills before grabbing the first ability card and have just the ability options available for level up if done one at a time.
please try archer (max move speed orbs - crits max wep dmg and attack speed) you can get like 10 orbs spinning around you nothing gets close
Your potion usage is great :D If only you had a few more. Using potions, I made the biggest Dragon flame stream ever. It was like 5 of them, all super large, and just flaring half the screen so badly I couldn't see what I was killing. >_>; I focused on aoe, but i think next time I'll try the range upgrade. Not 100% sure it'll apply to the dragon flame stream though. I'm glad potions exists. Wonder what other crazy mechanics the dev would add later on. o.o;

i tried to do some of these builds, i get the weapon to lvl 3, i get the card it gives me new effect and then at lvl 6 when i try to upgrade i almost never get the new weapon upgrade(from the card) as i see you do it in most videos. Is there a level requirement? maybe you can do a tutorial on how to upgrade these weapons. I also upgrade the weapons to lvl 9-10 and then pick a card and there is no aditional upgrade to the weapon (new effect on the new weapon)
Level 6 for most weapons has an achievement IIRC, where you need to hit 750k or 1.5m damage first. Check the achievement tab in case you are missing them

For this build, boots giving +66% damage to all passive auras/skills when not using basic attack would be sick. 66% of damage. 66. :)
If you never had the 750k, 1.5mil and 3mil achievement with lightnig strike before, you havent unlocked the traits yet.
I have almost all achievements in the game, it has nothing to do with that. You need an actual weapon that unlocks the traits
If you only chose one ability and built around it which one do you think you could do the most damage with?
When it comes to the stats I think that Arcane Splinter is the one that can reach the highest numbers, mostly because if you upgrade it correctly it hits everything on the screen constantly forever.

Ringblades are very good aswell.

The problem with this weapon is that it will be a total waste in most builds, since taking/upgrading weapons that have more range will result in everything dying before the aura can hit them… watching Asmon taking it every time and wasting upgrades, even though it did very few kills was a goddamn suffering.
I've been trying to do the 3m challenge for Radiant Aura... it's been rather annoying to obtain.

Search for "potion guide" on my channel, it will explain the best method I know :) You just go to stage 1, run to the ticket, kill the boss that spawns and he will drop a potion chest
Have same bug with lightning strike III, (capacity, 50 base -50 electrify) (repercussion 66 base - 50 electrify). Tho text on the left is different-ish
I kinda got this build on the swordsman my first try on this world 😅 1 shot this lvl and completed the game with 9h played without ant guides or w/e. Second try i had a haard time and failed 💀

hmm, at 17:42 or a little bit earlier you can see the upgrade with 50% electrify chance (completely the same name as the one in wiki) though instead it is reversed (+damage -electrify change) so it was patched or wiki was wrong in this one

Sorceress with Lightning Strike + Kugelbliz also if you have the Ring of Thunder would be good, then wait for the last boss of map 1 or 3 to stack all the atacks on top of him. Good luck
If you don't want to wait for the boss, you can just attack the wall of ghosts that close in. Grab transfixion for your 3rd if you can.

rest is up to you, but things like area, duration, range pickup, mevespeed are better than defense
Pick up your first scroll Thunder Strike/Kugelblitz
Go to either North-East or South-West scroll
pick scrolls only up when you have the skill on III or VI
so you get the choice for powerup the skill or a new one.
This is a good way to counter rng a bit.
Stay at the spot of the scroll you decided for you dont have to go for the other.
Transfixion is maxed after one upgrade and you dont need a 4th skill.
For transfixion you want to have the Afliction power up, but if not it isnt the end of the world.
Around the 20 minute mark the ghost wall should close in. Just aim for the ghost on the far left or far right, stay to him as close as possible. With a tiny bit of luck you get those 20 stacks pretty fast.
PLUS FOR POTIONS:
Using the double potion on:
Proficient Stance I Stability + IV Stability and Weapon Proficiency III Voltage.
Attack spped gets insane high, two applications on crit and way more crit chance.
And yeah multiple people reportet getting it on the boss seems to be easier, than on the wall.

Yeah just ring of thunder, transfixion potency matched with any electrify chance ability you can get, roll into the Viaducts and just play it out and make sure to upgrade effect on hit/crit chance when you see it and you should just get it naturally
You have 20% buff, you get +50%..
50% from 20% = 10%
20%+10% = 30%.

When are they gonna bring Halls of Torment / Vampire Survivors type games to console? Or why cant they? These games would be awesome on ps5 or xbox. I play Vampire survivors on ipad thats my best option besides buying a whole ass gaming computer

Well, Golem exists.
I gave Phantom Needles a really loaded attempt and it was okay but it could not keep up, and Weeping Angels wreck it bad.
@@jaeusa160 The funny part is that Golem is actually better than Lightning Strike. And by funny I mean its really painful. The only important part with him is to stand still and not move, but his slaps SLAP hard.
If you double up Devestation, you get +120% Area and +120% Attack Range.
And thanks to the potions, you can take all 6 Acceleration upgrades that make it take longer to roll again. Heck, it may even be worth it (though I doubt that) to test out doubling this instead, just to have more attacks and a longer time until he rolls again
Transfixion is better CHANGE MY MIND. Once you get the ass blasters it’s game over.

I was waiting for you to realise you took the wrong weapon proficiency, but unless I missed it, you didn't spot it. The 22% chance to apply affects its main weapon only, what you wanted the 11% chance to all weapons.

@@JK-jw3po ja genau, 2 dann locken und das 3. nehmen :) doppeln: einfach auf den trank klicken und auf das was man 2 mal haben will, das kann auch vorher mit dem anderen trank gelockt sein

Hey Dex, it looked to me like you picked the wrong repercussion level up, then skipped the one you actually wanted at the end. This is honestly my only annoyance with leveling in this game, stats are random except for flat base gains(damage, attack speed, area/cone size,etc). Trying to farm certain stats can be difficult due to rng. That being said you killed the end boss so fast, it looked like you were casting disentegrate instead of lightning with how everything stacked together. 🤣
It seems it was the right one, and I skipped it at the end because it looked to me like picking it had no effect
We had a 1 on effect hit chance, but also had a 30% trait increase, so if it worked it should have been at least a 1.3, though the weapon can electrify from start, so it should have been higher

how do i unlock radiant aura? i've beaten all 3 maps and even reached level 100. still never once came across radiant aura 🤷♂
