John also talks abouts how he went into Baltimore with the “my way or the highway” mind set and the veteran players and culture really changed him, and now he’s seen as a players coach.. Baltimore has also been on Cutting edge when it comes to offense and defense, it’s no surprise Lamar and the offense is what it is now and also they’ve built a top 1 of 1 Defense which is both a monster in personnel and even more so scheme, running multiple fronts and coverages and continuing to switch it up every play

Early on, the Ravens team Harbs inherited had egos and big contracts, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, and Harbs was brought in (and Billick was fired) to bring some discipline. The team has changed and Harbs has grown. I’ll say this - I think the post Lamar team has more a humility/ team oriented approach which gells a lot more with Harbs’ view of the world and I think he’s having the most fun coaching that I’ve seen. It really helps that the whole team is so focused on the ring. If the players are locked in, coach needs to do less.

So, 2008 was a "complicated" year for the Ravens....Ed complained earlier about how he should have won "multiple" championships, that's almost certainly a reference to the 2002-2007 Baltimore offenses under Billick. Those teams were defined by great defense and terrible offense, (that was slightly more functional in 06 until the wheels fell off in the playoffs)
Harbaugh's job was to make one, functional team out of a roster with a very unequal dynamic, so yeah, he came in and shook things up. But that's what he was hired to do.
I love Ed Reed, but he can be a mercurial, difficult man at times. Just like he was on the football field, at times, you never knew what he was going to say or do next. In the end, all that matters is that Harbaugh stuck with Ed, because he was a future HOFer and was able to make things work.
But you had NONE of these problems between Harbaugh and Ray Lewis.

99% of players who are busts just can't do it. Good players have the ability to watch plays develop, predict what is about to happen, and make a move that will benefit the team. Great players seem to know what's about to happen before it happens. Case in point Troy Polamalu lining up in the C-gap because he saw Pat McAfee acting all giddy and realized that Pat was about to try to run it for a touch down instead of holding the ball for a field goal.

It's funny how people/players who personally dealt with Harbaugh can expose stuff about that dude and fans get mad...lol...smh. You guys act like he's your lord and savior or something.

Come on Reed, ain't nobody trying to hear negative talk on Harbs...that dude appears to be a God fearing righteous kind of grown man.
Perhaps some of the players were at fault and displayed attitudes but no wait, million dollar athletes, especially black men, don't have no drama attached to their aura?
    Noooooooo.

Oh please. He answered the questions honestly. Is Harbaugh infallible? He is human, correct? Are coaches always right? Are they incapable of learning and growing the moment they earn the title of coach? This is great and interesting insight. I don't see it as negative. He clearly said he respected and loves the man like a brother. Are your relationships perfect?

@@Justice777Allah Oh please, what? I'm sure Harbaugh is not "infallible" and whether or not my relationships are perfect is none of your business, and two, I'm not doing any interviews for public consumption.
Are coaches always right, probably not, who knows, but they aren't always wrong either and I know there are far more players, families of players, girlfriends of players, and the whole 9 that go on social media spewing their collective drama and grievances than any coach would ever dare.
Is it an "interesting insight" but a one-sided insight and I know firsthand that players such as Bernard Pollard tried to lead a mutiny against Harbaugh in 2012-2013.
You must be a Farrakhan NOI Muslim huh? Well, I'm Sunni Muslim, Peace be upon you, either way.
