    Laid a lighter color in my laundry room and my staggered pattern in hall required a transition strip to that room. This worked great!

    As a installer with 45 years dolng hard surface, i try on all LVP floors to not use transitions, if a jobs going to fail its always the transitions. You have to use them on LVP/carpet transitions or use Z bar or metal, If you look closely these transitions are merely shelving paper on white plastic - cheap- most LVP companies say thier products can be used on commercial applications, but after a year or two the transitions wear an your left with a white stripe

      Some companies restrict their total footage and require the use of air gaps that need transitions or T's for expansion. If that's the case then using this type of T is probably the best. Only problem is if you are trying to do a water tight floor, you cant use this.

    I didn't want to use transitions with lifeproof but we started 2 rooms wrong way and have a seam. I'm going to make my own filler with scrap (Make scrap powder and mix with glue) Everyone can make opinions, bu in the end it's our house.

    Your still shot shows one type of transition (track-base), but the video shows a different type (screw or pin based). I'd LOVE to know where you got the one used in the video, as the HD near me has only the track-based ones, and they are a serious PITA and the track breaks on them when installing them if you are even a little bit crooked.

      Thanks for the comment! When I posted the video, I failed to notice that the video and image was different. I found the transition at Menards. The plastic screws break very easy. I'm fairly disappointed in the product, to be honest.

      @dongreer Před rokem +1

      Well, no Manards around here, so that didn't work out like I hoped. Yeah, the l track based ones are crap too. I got them to try l work, sort of, but they feel cheap and flimsy, and add I said, the plastic track frequently breaks while assembling them.

      Too bad I love that design there's probably a way to upgrade it maybe if somehow the screws are less firm more flexible or have one that has holes for regular concrete or wood screws and then a little circle cap that covers the holes...
      Ah fuck it there's a million kinds already out there

      I agree that would look better! However, LVT doesn’t handle bottlenecks like doorways very well. It will the buckle and stretch.

      I understand what you were saying! However, here’s what cancork flooring said:
      Please use transition strips. Too many floors are ruined when the owner tries to go "seamless" throughout. A laminate floor will expand and contract more than most floors. This is not a problem until you get to a "bottle neck" like a doorway. When a floor expands through a door way it almost always ends in disaster.
