      have you made a video already on the art of "walking forward" to threaten pokes in neutral? this is something i'm really bad at and have been trying to improve. walking forward/walking back to force opponent to do something, offensive footsies without putting out a poke first. i'll check your backlog but could be a good video if you haven't covered it already. @@Chris_F

  • @todd4275
    @todd4275 Před 9 měsíci

    Great video! I like how you listed the most common things people do in the corner on a throw tech, now I'm wondering what the exact percentages break down to, that way you can adjust the count in training and have training against the most common vs rare options that people do.

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  Před 9 měsíci

      Thanks for watching!
      I think going into percentages is going into the realm of overthinking and over complicating things. The point I was trying to make is “here are some things your opponent could do, and here’s how you can practice to not be caught off guard”

    Hey Chris, I am a new player in sf6 without much fighting game experience. I've been losing to a gold friend and he is kinda bad also, but he is able to destroy me because I don't know what is going on. This situation demotivates a lot because I have the theory down, but he presses buttons and I don't know how to punish his playstyle. Guess fighting games aren't for me, I have good execution in training mode, but when it comes to real matches I can't apply anything I know, I feel the game moves too fast for me

    • @okbriel
      @okbriel Před 9 měsíci

      i have the same issue as well...i am very good in nrs games but sf6 i feel it rewards mashing because moves are not very negative

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  Před 9 měsíci

      I think that’s a common issue most new players have. If you send me a DM on twitter/X with some replays of your play with your friend I can go over it with you next time I stream and offer some advice.

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  Před 9 měsíci

      I just started playing mortal kombat 1 about 1.5 weeks ago and while things are more negative in that game, moves also startup slower than SF6. Finding gaps with your 4F normals is a pretty big part of SF6 so I’d start with that!

    • @okbriel
      @okbriel Před 9 měsíci

      @@Chris_F what do you mean by finding gaps in 4f

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Using your fastest normal (4F) to find holes in your opponent’s offense. For example, if they always do one light attack (blocked) -> throw, then you can use a 4F normal to stuff their throw startup.

    what can i do when im cornered and they're pressing buttons and no matter what i press i get stuffed and i end up just parrying n then get thrown. so frustrating 😫 do you have a video for that by any chance?

    You can't expect anything from your opponent. He doesn't play your game, he is not a bot.

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  Před 9 měsíci +2

      While that’s true, there are things we can practice to prepare us to react to the most common things people will do in certain situations. This is one reason why strong players are able to place highly in tournaments on a consistent basis.

    • @klimzy
      @klimzy Před 9 měsíci +3

      actually you can expect many things from your opponent. low level/intermediate players often react predictably or revert to autopilot patterns under stress/pressure, especially if they’re cornered. And what they think is random or unexpected the top player has already seen and dealt with 100 times before.
      all that to say - the video is gold!

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  Před 9 měsíci +1

      @klimzy absolutely agree with you! Thanks for the kind words!!
