These alarms are very cool, but $120 per alarm is kinda hard to swallow lol. Also, I think at that price the alert tones messages should be in sync, and they should have a sounder that's 520 Hz instead of one that's 3000 Hz. I actually think every smoke alarm should be 520 Hz, and it's really frustrating that they're not on the market when they are substantially better at waking people up.
Yeah, even though they've since come down from $150, I totally agree on the prohibitively high price of approx. $120. Need to install 8 of these to replace 7 old ionization detectors here plus one more for the basement. And have done 6 so far mainly through the financing help of 5-pay plans from QVC and HSN. But still have two more to go ....
The issue I see is the fact these are smart ish smoke detectors and one thing I’ve learned is when you start baking more features into a product the more likely it is to fail/malfunction.
So because these are just smart speakers with a assistant? Is it possible to play custom alarm sounds? Or hack it to play custom sounds? If so, I want to add Half-Life or Portal 2 alarm or even a meme sound effect. I would absolutely love to hear falling pipe or vine boom.
@@nics-systems-electric or your latch key kids wear headphones on their devices, so wont hear ANY alarms. Some strobes can be linked into your smoke alarms.
Because Carbon Monoxide sometimes can come from your furnace, and if the Protect senses carbon monoxide, the Thermostat will turn off your furnace if it was the source of the Carbon monoxide
Here's how you can test the carbon monoxide sensor: find a can called Solo C6 in your local hardware store, or you can order it online. Step 2: find a small or large container like a plastic ziplock baggie abd put the detector(s) inside. Step:3 spray ziplock bag full of carbon monoxide and then seal it. Hope this helps.

Amazon sell them as well, both hard wired and battery options, expensive and will disable when battery needs changing (means buy a new unit)
