      Steve Abitante Genetic genealogists have stated that MyHeritage is the worst of all ancestry DNA analysis and they further argue that all these “estimates” are the least reliable. Cousin matches are accurate though especially close matches (4th cousins and closer).

      @MiguelSilva-tq4sm Před 5 lety +2

      Actually its more of an overlap between Portuguese and Italian. I think myheritage will fix this soon. There is some italian dna from the romans but it is no where near 33%. I also score high italian on Myheritage but i score Portuguese on other tests with next to no italian if there is any. Italian on a dna test for Portuguese with no known recent italian Ancestry just means Southern European/Portuguese

      @@Ogeroigres Azores island has actually been rediscovered in 1427, as stated in Wikipedia. There are ancient settlements found there but people found it uninhabited in 1427 and repopulated it. So 1/3rd Italian is purly from recent colonization, not from the Romans. Also colonizing small islands outside their trade network wouldn't be very profitable for them I guess.

      Cada um herda os genes de certos ancestrais, parece que essa herança é aleatória e não matemática. De todos os meus irmãos, eu sou quem tem maior percentagem de Ibérico, por exemplo.

      Muito esclarecedor isso. Agora fico ainda mais curioso para receber meus resultados. Sou brasileiro de origem açoriana e italiana em menor proporção. Quero muito saber a porcentagem de ibérico/italiano/norte africano e possivelmente judeu que sou. Reza a lenda que muitos dos casais que migraram para Santa Catarina (sul do Brasil) eram novos cristãos.

    • @Ogeroigres
      @Ogeroigres  Před 6 lety +12

      I can see why they would get upset because your comment was not accurate at all. "You are the whitest Portuguese I have ever seen ! Every other Portuguese is about 30% mixed with North Africa or Middle Est" That is simply not true. There is not a single person of ANCIENT Portuguese ancestry with 30% North Africa or Middle East. The genetic base of the Portuguese is and will always be Iberian, Italic and Celtic, the rest are minor admixtures which are important but far from being the main ones (like North Africa, West European, Greek, etc). In order for a person to have such a high percentage of North African or Middle East, they would need to have a recent ancestor from those regions, something highly unlikely in Portugal (or Spain). And the guy from that video is far from being the whitest Portuguese you would ever meet.
