I saw them on this tour when I was 13 & they were awesome!
My dad worked security for the show and met them. They gave him an autographed poster for me when he told them I was a fan and was at the concert. But because he was working he couldn't get me backstage. They were really cool to him.

One of the best 80's bands EVER! They rocked. Saw them in September of 1984 in Peoria, IL on this same tour - 2nd row, practically looking up Belinda's skirt. Great memories!

Was very lucky to see them open up for The Police at MSG in January 1982... the world can go upside down and music can be crappy today but as long as one has memories like this... it puts a smile to one's face... again I was blessed to have witnessed great music in the 80's.
Wow! Must've been a great show. I saw Wings Over America there in May '76. Still have ticket stub and TWO programs.
I saw the Go-Go's on this tour, at the Cap Center outside DC on, I swear, the coldest night of my life until I moved to MN. The show was also my first arena concert, as a dorky college freshman (I learned within a few years that I prefer smaller venues... different story). My friends and I loved both bands, and we were SUPER excited for the show, but! Tickets went on sale well after our semester ended and well before spring classes began. Um, BTW, there was no internet then... Luckily, being from Baltimore, I could go to the fancy department store near where my parents lived and buy the tickets! So 14 of my friends each gave me a whopping $10 and I took my substantial wad of cash to the Towson Hutzler's store's "service" department where they handled all sorts of arcane transactions including ticket sales. NBD, 15 tickets = $150. If there were other fees, so they were so minimal that I've long forgotten them.
The Capital Center was well outside the 1982 DC Metro's range, and of course none of had a car (even in 1982 that was a bad idea in Georgetown), so my friends figured out how to rent three TEENY 1981 cars to drive to the show. In the wretched single-digit cold. It was a ball!
We lived in an awesome era for music. Proof? I see kids listening to our music today and loving it

That's not ecactly true. Jane had a legitimate gripe in that she wanted to sing lead more. Afterall, her and Charlotte did the majority of the writing. Drugs prevented them from seeing what a money maker the Go-Go's were, and they fired the only person that ever guided them in their best interest, Ginger Canzoneri, their manager. So, yes, there was friction, but it was specific, not general.

You know, Jeff, after watching it a second time, I realized Gina and Kathy screwed themselves when they rejected Jane's request to let her sing. They made themselves powerless against the other two remaining Go-Go's. So convoluted, what with drugs, Charlotte's smack addiction, etc. They, like so many before, imploded because of fame. Getting rid of canzoneri was another bad move.
Rudolph Guarnacci it’s a shame how drugs, fame, and ego can ruin a band. Thankfully though the Go-Go’s have pushed through and are better than ever. Club Zero is such an amazing song! Hopefully if/when they tour next year they will have come up with a couple more songs. I saw in an interview that Gina did with Belindas son that more music is a possibility. It’s just hard seeing as they are all spread over the world. But not impossible. I have some friends, same situation. Spread all over the world, but they’ve managed a couple records. Far As Hell. Is their name. They’d be a great opening act for the Go-Go’s

Charlotte messed up the solo, and if you watch other performances from the evening, she looks pretty blasted. Kathy and Gina share a laugh about it, which the camera catches.
Charlotte was a full blown heroin addict at that time. Belinda was habitual cocaine user at that same time as well.
Just noticed they snuck in a ghost keyboardist on a few songs. Subtle, but a nice effect. Haven't seen such a thing for any other Go-Go's live performance.
