GW has nearly convinced me I need a battleforce every year for the last 4 since starting this hobby. My first year in I almost bought the Necron box from 2020 but at the time was only a few month into the hobby and I had already bought an Indomitus box. I bought my first battleforce the following year not wanting to miss out on Necrons again. Last year I opted out of 40k for AoS getting my first battleforce with the sylvaneth box, and luckily ended up with 2 thanks to a shipping mistake on GW behalf. This year was a bit tougher because i actually wanted the Votann and Slaves to Darkness boxes. Ultimately I chose the Votann as that is an army I will be working on next year and Slaves can wait since Ill be starting AoS with Slyvaneth anyways
Now we've come to my favourite box this year. It is a greeeeat beginner box. I will say as a veteran like me, it can be just as great for reinforcing your basic units. Because Slaves to Darkness only had weird monopose sets for Warriors and Knights for years (if you wanted new models) a lot of people will be missing command options. With two of these boxes I'll be able to create 2x reinforced Warriors with each weapon option, 2x reinforced Knights. And then as a Bonus I will have 2x reinforced Theridons units, cause those look so great and have some of my favourite lore of the faction 😁
Really surprised about the Ogroid Theridons, personally i think they're a great unit, one of many units that have come down in points several times since the battletome released. Choas Knights, Choas Warrior's, Eternus, Choas Lord on Demonic Mount and even Chosen hage all had points drops recently. The Exalted Hero of Choas is also a fun hero and a good recommendation for a cheap 90 point hero
I actually think theridons are a great unit, especially to include in things like ravagers. If youre focusing on cultists/darkoath/marauders, you are already running a fairly squishy force, and you dont have a lot of damage potential, so they wont feel like a "downgrade" compared to something like chosen or knights which are great at damage but more survivable. Im actually trying to get stuff for a ravagers list that has a unit of 6 theridons as the hardest hitting hammer, but also has a single reinforced splintered fang and some heroes that can dish out damage. But having a khorne marked theridon unit with axes is able to do some work, if they can make it to combat. Which, if youre running a horde of cultists... yeah, you are far more likely to have ways to keep your opponents off of them until they can charge into the targets they want.
Most chaos factions with a refresh has gotten a beasts unit. I guess partly to keep the beast lore alive, partly so beasts can use new models. However, these are ogroids and not beasts. Dont think you could use em in a beast army outside of coalition. Got a whole bit on their lore and everything.

if i was to convert this to an Old World Warriors of Chaos army those Ogroid Theridons would be great unit fillers for units like Chaos Warriors

Alright alright, is 2x reinforced Chosen overkill? Probably, but man are those guys awesome. Imagine those as battleline. What a grinder
Yeah 4x chosen kits is absolutely overkill but some just love the mdoels too much.
I wouldn't get two also cause the bulls will be in everything.
