The time has come - we are selling the DriveTribe BMW M5 Touring! It has run its course on the channel, mostly at 8,000rpm, and now it is time to move it on to a new lucky owner. But before then, Richard Hammond grabbed the keys for one last blast in Wales.

What version of Omen by The Prodigy did you use?
Could you turn up the background music please . I CANT HEAR IT !
No seriously ... i cant hear what Hammond is saying . Fix the sound please
Wow this video needs editing again the music and volume levels are all over the place shame love these videos
You should clarify in a more noticeable place that it's a Cat-N car.
The only place it's mentioned is "The car was a Category N back in 2018 but has since been fully repaired", which makes it seem like it's no longer Cat-N -- but that status cannot legally be removed.
You could be opening yourself up to legal trouble there, as it MUST be disclosed to any buyer that the car is a Cat-N or you're liable for damages.
The sound balancing was awful in this video. Richard was constantly too quiet and the music was constantly too loud.
they must have the same guy who did the old top gear videos on CZcams, same exact issue
the prob when u have pure "media guys" doing the production.. they don't see the content the same way a viewer would.. ironically.
@@babagurgur3838 came here to comment the same thing lol
i came to comments to suggest this very thing.
The constant chopping between shots got annoying as well
Some say… that he is legally deaf, and that he failed sound design class in college. All we know is, he’s the sound mixer for this video!
Ironically it reminded me of classic Top Gear videos lol.
I was just about to make a comment just like this. It reminds of of the old sound engineer from the early 2000's Top Gear episodes.
🤣
It might be the same person, for all we know. @@cliftoncheng2003
Might want to sort out the volume levels guys.
exactly hardly can hear what Richard is saying
I can here to say this. Edit with some headphones on please
They brought back the Top Gear audio guy
This is when a volume compressor add-on to your browser helps a ton
@@robertfrippers That would make Richard even quieter.
The sound engineer who dubbed this video clearly likes the sound of a V10 more than Hamster's voice.
...and music.
It's a nice noise, but a 3 second lull every now and again would have been useful.
correct
No sound engineer has touched the audio. This was 100% the editor's doing.
@@patriotbarrow Agreed. Not quite the same quality. Came straight off the Avid/Premier/Resolve
Hamster* No "p."
@@englishatheart oh yeah. Thanks. Wonder why autocorrect didn't pick that up?
Whoever edits these generally does a great job but please turn poor old Hammond's audio up😂
It must be the same audio guy that does Top Gear videos :D
Glad it's not just me thinking that the audio is terrible. Whoever did the audio on this video should start looking for another job or get their hearing checked. Volume is all over the place with backing music that's louder than the main audio track? Wondered if I was watching a 20 year old CZcams video with no budget or editing.
and turn the music off
This video did not need any added music, the BMW already provides an excellent soundtrack, and it's always great to watch Richard taking a car out and telling his stories.👍
Who's idea was it to use the most abnoxious music and then make it obnoxiously loud and the voices annoyingly silent? This video gave me a migraine
Editor definitely messed up the audio levels. Can barely hear Hammond speak.
Came here to same the same. I've played parts of it 5 times and have no idea what he said.
Agreed. This could be the best vid on all of CZcams, but I’ll never know. I gave up after one minute. I gave up on a video with a combination of The Hamster, a V10 and a manual - that feels like heresy.
Might not be the worst thing in the world to send this one back to the editors for tweaking and a re-upload.
You get it all for free. Stop moaning.
I tried 3x to watch this video. Changed starting points, just to see if it was my player. Sadly, no.
Glad to see the old top gear sound editor come back
Reminds me of the top gear CZcams videos, where the music audio is so loud that you can barely hear what’s being said.
Turning on subtitles came in handy for this video... That sound mix is a bit of a mess. A shame as it's a great car, and great filming.
Fond memories of my V10 M5. One New Year’s Day we woke up, no plans. Said to my missus fancy lunch in Paris. She said not a chance we’d make it. Straight to the tunnel from Hampshire. Off and didn’t let off except for fuel (frequently). Pulled up at the Hotel Bristol for 13.00 lunch. We were feet up supper on laps at 8.30pm. Ballistic and never missed a beat. Have owned the E39 V8, Two F10s and now in the F90. The E60 gave me the most fun road trip of my life. 🙌
And then u woke up ur alarm going off
@@tomdagg6545 I think you might be a disgruntled e39/f10 owner.
The sound editor from the old Top Gear strikes again!
Why hear someone speaking when you can hear just the music.
Really sad to see such a legend go, especially since it has built an image for the channel at this point.
Better than him wrecking it
Gotta pay for the Scooby Doo somehow!
Some say he has never taken out his earplugs
And that he has never in his life put on headphones
All we know is that hes TOP GEAR audio producer
Nive to hear he got job with you guys
I see the Editor who did the audio for the Supercars in France episode of TG is back working for you now.
Some say he’s deaf, all we know is he was the Top Gear CZcams sound editor.
The music at the beginning and end drowns out Richard's audio. Unnecessary music ruins car videos.
Sad to see it go. By far the best Drivetribe car you've had on yet.
Thought I was the only one with sound problems. But as I pass the comment section the editor is allready roasted. I hope it is fixed on the next video :)
Another vote for genuinely sad to see this gem leave the Drive tribe stable. This is the car that made me connect with Mike over the love of all things v10. But having heard one of this generation m5 saloons rip by me on my morning commute, I would describe that wailing howl as honey sweet. But I don't doubt that epic intake paired anger with the smooth swell. Sigh, I'll shutup now and to check the auction. Well done all! Can't wait to see what you do next.
I'm honestly surprised that this is getting sold. I feel like they could've easily paid this car off through putting out some more content (assuming they haven't already). And it's such a rare and clean spec. But the new owner will surely be thrilled :)
Im guessing they’re selling it because at the end of the day its an unreliable car
@@realkilju Eh after handling the rod bearings and throttle actuators, it's a pretty reliable car to own. Especially with this being a manual
I guess they just want to present something new and start building and doing new interesting stuff with it. Also financially - not being backed by BBC or Amazon requires compromises.
Much as we like to see Hammond driving all sorts of cars.. I gues most of us are still thinking "please Hammond, park it the right way up!"
every. single. time. haha
Hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhhhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhhahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhaahahhhaahahahhhhahhghahahahahahahahagaaaaaaaaaaaaaah🤮
@@caprise-music6722 seems you've put salt in your coffee instead of sugar, mate. Better be carefull next time.
Other than the audio balancing in this video, it was great. Farewell, M5.
As an E60 owner, it was a pleasure to see the whole series. Thanks guys :)
Was your audio balance guy high AF for this video?
As a Tesla owner, I love the ridiculous acceleration and speed of it. However there’s always something missing while doing that, the sound and feel of an engine and exhaust. It’s a huge part of the driving experience and will be missed by many with new cars. RIP naturally aspirated engines.
What is going on with the sound mix!? Love the car, sad to see it go
so much for this being Mike's daily driver because it's fast and has such great storage space
I worked for BMW in 2007 and sold one of these, same colour but huge spec with lighter interior which I prefer - made 100% better by the manual and other mods.
A part of me is glad that Vehicles like this can be brought back to life/ better than factory and then relesed back into the wild, to be enjoyed.
Its a fun cycle to watch and one day i hope to be able to catch one of these vehicles and enjoy it in person.
Great engine sounds during the cockpit shots in this vid!
Great video - that opening mix is a bit off on the levels though 😂
It's not a small fire it's a "minor thermal incident"
It's amazing that sound production can be this bad in 2022. Wow
I remember Richard saying about a Murcielago V12 at the end of its life, in the sound it made you could almost hear "YOU'LL MISS ME WHEN I'M GONE!"
Same with this car. The new M5 will be faster, and probably a better car, but while you're driving that V10, I'm sure you can't really tell 😁
Not sure this is comparable to the swansong of the last old school V12 and in my personal opinion Lamborgini's best car.
This is the content that makes me love DriveTribe so much! Cannot wait to see what is next.
Audio track balancing on this video is on the level of Fast and Furious franchise
Please don't give it that much credit.
"Swapping cogs" LOL I love that phrase
Music is so loud in this video. Can’t watch it
Audio doesn't seem balanced in places.
The sound reminds of the naturally aspirated Volvo 2.5 petrol straight 5 with an open exhaust. Just love the sound from a Volvo straight 5 and a V10 from BMW and the Lexus LFA. More of those please
@@drivetribe. Oh right. Please enlighten me.
I’ve got an 06 Sedan version, I love it. Oh how I wish I could add this one to the collection. Sad that BMW didn’t bring the estate over here.
This is the best car ever !! Cheers from Brazil.
Some say the sound engineer is the same man who did the old top gear CZcams uploads.
Hopefully this gets a reupload with the audio sorted out... It's borderline unwatchable.
Thanks for the great vid again (and the shoutout to the ❤ T-5R!)
Great car. Can't say the same with the sound in this video
Amazing build loved every episode of it!
😊Thanks Mike 🙌🙌
Last time? Did he crash again?
I would love to see his insurance rates
😂😂😂
@@agy234 not high he didnt crash them on the road
"and then The Noise..." blooming intoxicating noise alright!. What a car, swapping cogs with your left hand as it should be ...
Love that road! Between Hirwaun and Brecon.
You cannot help but have the biggest most childish grin on your face when you hear that beautiful V10
Is this video mastered differently or using different audio equipment? The V10 made my shoulders tingle, I don’t remember being physically effected by this car in previous videos.
Edit: agree with others on the music being too loud at the end though.
Surely its not to late to save this legendary car from leaving the channel? Please reconsider… Save this V10 Beast
Farewell Labrador Launcher, you've served the Tribe well, if I had the cash and space I'd give it a home alongside my M3 as I'm used to old M car Tantrums.
The backing track made my ears bleed !
If there were a time to have a spare twenty grand it'd be now. I'll truely envy it's next owner.
It's gonna go for alot more, it's already at 30k GBP with days to go.
Great video. ☺️
This is a properly cool car! Still never seen one!!
What a beauty 😍 and also the fastest color as well 😈. My E61 is also Deep Sea Blue Metallic 🤝🏼
I see they found the old sound engineer from old TG clips. (Looking at you original Koenigsegg video) lol.
I found this car parked up in bath this evening, it looks so much better in the steel than it does on the screen.
Master of mastering.
I would love one of those! Manual
Nice car. Would certainly bid on it if I lived in the UK.
Is that the Top Gear's old sound engineer?
someone is going to get a peach of a car with all the care and attention put into that
In the North American market you can get manual transmission options on MCars.
Sell the Charger and keep the M5. Iconic car!
That’s a shame. What a great, classic car. And it’s fully restored!
fire the sound guy.
I mean if Drivetribe wants to do an M5 estate music video with The Prodigy, I'm not going to complain.
This is what we want, Hammond or May and NO BALDY MIKE!!!!
Would like to see jeremy clarckson get involved in this channel... let him drive the bmw and get his verdict
music needs to be louder coz I can almost understand what Hammond is saying.
Fire the sound guy. Turn Richard up!
Great project. Well done gents.... I dips me hat.
Sounds like drivetribe hired the old Top gear sound editor.
i seen you guys filming up there when i was up there and thought i seen him driving the car up in the beacons, i was i nthe dhl van haha
Mamma mia. Did Hammond have a whoopsie?
Amazing, he dind´t crash it !
You guys need to make that music at the end a little louder
The shape is finally growing on me
We realize what we had only when we lose it. 15 years ago when this car was new it was just another fast estate, like Audi RS6, Mercedes AMGs and so on. But now we realize that there will never be a V10 in family car, probably ever. Even V8 will soon die out. What an era we had that we didnt really appreciate fully.
At least here in the US we got a 6spd manual in the e60 m5 but we don't get the M-touring models...
"you might get it cheap!" 🤣
I’ve taken two Tylenols and 4 Advils…and yet I still have a headache from that music
The Volvo 850 estate BTCC car was a 2.0 n/a not a T5. Still fantastic though.
Love what you all do! But I have to suggest that ya'll look into your sound mixing, everything is louder than Hammond's voice. Makes it very annoying having to adjust the volume every couple of seconds... anyway, cheers!
Not sure if it’s fixed or if I just have massively different EQ settings than everyone else but it’s fine for me
Fire the sound guy
whoever edited this, loved the background music a bit too much
Hard to watch because of the sound mixing, music overpowers the dialog.
Isn't that the same road where Jeremy drove the m5 e60 and said when in M mode the car is magnificent. and moves and sounds like a Ferrari 430, which is the best car he ever driven (till this point) :D
It's a real unicorn
Llangynidr Road is awesome for a drive wish i had gone up to the car park the day this was filmed
Does anybody know whereabouts in Wales this was filmed please, particularly the part where Hammond is outside the car talking with the views behind him?
Mercedes SL55 AMG should be the next weapon of choice, 5.4 V8 Supercharged goodness... OR an E55.
Is the seat height adjustment working?.
Manual estates are BOSS.
Great stuff and much respect Richard... but ya gotta change that camera angle... makes it look like your struggling to see over the steering wheel and out the window...
Cheers (Jeremy made me do it!)
