Heyyy lovelies, In this video I am showing you how I added real leaves and Paper leaves to Jesmonite. I am also adding some additional abstract design in to the pieces. My first video in this series looked at the effect of paper in Jesmonite and it worked so well I wanted to explore more.
Putting paper in Jesmonite was successful. I have only tried thicker papers and not yet thin. For the leaves I would highly recommend that you press them flat under a few books before adding them in .. do this with your paper designs also. The flatter your items the better.

Oh my goshhhh I am a papercrafting who is dabbling a little in clay and aqua resin, and I absolutely RAN to my craft room to cut out floral paper and try this and it's soooo pretty!! Thank you for sharing!! 😍
Ohhh this is great .. i'm so glad you have the supplies to create it all 😍😍❤️❤️ thank yooooo for watching xxx
I love mine it as lots of character 💜
thankyou so much Anita xxx
Very pretty. I love pink and green together.
thank you so much Roz xxx
Beautiful work as always Miss Claire 🌻
Thank you so much Mallory xxx
I think they are both so beautiful, seepage or not !
I think the seepage adds wonderful texture!!! I love these Claire!!!!💕💕🧜♀️
thank you so much Kathy xxx so glad you do
Oh wow love the colours and the monstera 😍😍😍😍😍
thank yooooo so much girl xxxx
Have you thought about adding resin as a first layer with the leaves and jesmonite as a second layer
Yes or the other way you could do a Matte spray on the resin if you wanted the same colors perhaps.
heyyy lovely I have not ... sadly Jesmonite does not stick to resin. It might do for a while as it is a large flat surface area .. but there is a risk it will chip or crack and pop apart down the line x
They’re so tactile. Definitely a talking point, they’re gorgeous x
thank you so much Deb xxx
Beautiful Claire. A great result. Enjoyed your video as always x
Thanks so much Lesley xxx 😊
Wow! Just Wow! So beautifull!!
thank you so much xxx
I just love them as they are 😀
thank you so much Jane xxx
Hi Claire, I can't think of any more words apart from say wonderful or awesome!! Haha!! You have inspired me and I am making trinket trays galore! I'm trying to do the chameleon powder one on the back with the satin look but the first one I forgot to layer it with clear so you can't see it. Anyway, 2nd lot in progress now. I don't think I can post a photo here but the first one looks really cute. Thanks for the inspiration. Keep putting your wonderful videos up. Thanks 😊 Elizabeth
Looks beautiful! I would probably try to cover it with a layer of resin. To seal and keep the beauty
👀 👀 👀 no one?!? Ahh man, I AM a sicko! Hahaha
Amazingly beautiful as always Claire!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 nobody haaaaaa
@@ClairesCraftyCorner literally no one 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏼♀️
Love this video. The trays turned out so pretty 😍
Beautiful Claire, love the colors
thank you so much Laura xxx
Hello from New Jersey U.S.A ❤
heyyyyy Juju and heyyy New Jersey xxx
Great project Claire, they look beautiful
Thank yoooo Jiggsy xxx
love your videos ❤ Would love if you would do a starter video for jesmonite, like what bits and pieces you need to start up with xx
heyyyy Emma thank you so much xx I could definitely do a shorter video than my original one for sure xx I will put it on the list x
Sorry missed the live again😔but just watch and these are amazing, just gets better and better x
no worries at all lovely xxx I am so glad you like them xx
I absolutely love these
thank you so much lovely xxx
So cool! Another amazing video 🥰 gonna try this out, thanks for showing us how!!
thank you sooo much lovely xxx
Beautiful .... your getting better every time ..... couldn't you take a paint brush and go around the edges with Jesmonite .... it would be a little bit of a pain but just a thought
Heyyyy Patti thank you so much xx Ohhh yes that would be worth trying x
These are beautiful 😍 great colours love the design ❤
Thank you so much Michelle xxxx
This is seriously so cool 😆 obsessed! Couldn’t figure out how to edit my initial comment, i just love love love them
ha ha no worries at all xxx I see both thank you so much xxx
Beautiful colours Claire. I've been trying with napkins, they're a challenge too! 😍
Thankyou so much Karey ❤❤
Hi Claire I hope ur having a epic day. Is it worth using modge podge on the paper and leaves to "glue" them to the mould first? Rather wet or let dry out. Just a thought
heyyyy lovely xx great day thank yooo finally getting round to replying to comments lol I did try putting glue on the paper and it curled so O know many are suggesting this so I dont know if I am doing it wrong lol x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner well it was worth a thougt. thank you for the reply mate.
@@zacpackman9186 always worth ig for sure 😁🙌
@@ClairesCraftyCorner as a thougt in the vid where u cut the paper to fit your mould could u use your cricket to cut out the shape? it would be extremly accurate ive never used a vinal cutter so i dont know if they are any good for cutting paper (or if it is bad for the cutter)
Definitely love the colors and leaves, they turned out awesome Claire 😁
Thanks so much Sandy 😊
Hi Clair! I’m watching from Orange County, California! I wonder if you put down a thin, clear layer of resin if that would work? As always, charming to watch you!
heyyyy lovely .. thank you so much xx sadly Jesmonite does not stick to Resin it can peel off and leave whole channels xxx
I love this and i 'am sure gonna try this at home😍🥰
amazing Angeline xx so glad you do xx
What can I say.. 😂😂adorable!
Love it!!! (Like always!) 😍😍
Yayyyy thank yoooo Jacqueline so glad you love them xx
Lovely! I didn't notice at first, but the three beige blobs on the white patches looks like tiny faces...
thank yooo Mizz x ahhh yes they really do !
Beautiful Claire.
I wonder Claire if you put the tiniest bit of Mod Podge on the leavesyou pour the Jesmonite, would the suction hold them flat. The ModPodge will not stick to the mould. Might be worth a try.
heyyyy my lovely x i did try putting glue on the paper and it curled up .. so I didnt try anymore x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner Aw shoot, I thought that would work but you're doing an awesome job anyway. 😉😉
I love these colours and leaves, I thought the other paper leaf you used looked like a banana tree leaf but I could be wrong, I usually am lol ❤
I thought banana tree leaf too
heyyyy Dawn thank you so much xx many have said Banana leaf so I am pretty sure you're right ! xxx lol
I believe it is xxxx
Hast Du versucht die Blätter mit Sprühkleber an die Form zu kleben? Ich mag Deine Videos! 😍
Love them. What about using a low-tack spray on your leaves and paper.
heyyyyy lovely oooo yes that could work :)
I love these, think I'll have to try them next! 🌸🌻🌿
Could you pva glue the paper to your mould before pouring to stop it moving? Not sure if it would harm the mould.
Thanks so much Kate xx Sadly the PVA makes the paper curl up :( x
Banana leaf.. 😊
thank you so much Maggy xxx
I adore the look of these. The colours are lovely together. Would applying some spray glue to the leaves & paper and then pressing them to the mold before pouring, work?
heyyyy Kelly thank yoooo xxx spray glue might work actually i tried glue but the paper curled x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner thank you Claire 😊
What about if you put modpodge under the leafs and paper on the mold? Would they stay in places?
heyyyyy lovely I tried adding glue to my paper and it curled up so I am nor sure if I am doing something wrong x
I have not used Jesmonite but looking at what you do I had an idea. What if you laminated items you cover with Jesmonite? You would, of course, have glossy bits, but if you varnish would that matter?
Heyyyy Bryan .. the only downside here would be that Jesmonite doesn't stick to plastic ... so the chances are they would stay in the mould when removing the Jesmonite .. you could of course use Resin for this though. But Jesmonite doesn't stick to Resin either.
@@ClairesCraftyCorner I didn't know that, but you learn something new every day. I do intend to get some Jesmonite because watching what you have done I really want to have a go.
Could you tell us which is the sealant you bought? Thank you!
heyyyy Roxanne .. sorry for the dealy I am so behind. I use the acrylic sealer from jesmonite on these but it has been discontnued .... Elichem have new sealers and also Resin 8 have a sealer too x
the other leaf i believe is a bird of paradis leaf
thank yooo so much xxx
I think the other plant is bird of paradise or banana leaf
Hi Claire. So, I have never worked with Jesmonite as I am in the U.S. But my inclination after watching your videos is : to decopauge the paper on to the finished piece before sealing.??? What do you think???
heyyyyy lovely yes this is possible x I tried adding glue to the paper and it curled but I am thinking a thinner paper might work x also not sure if Mod podge works .. I really need to try these things x
hi Claire, do you think it could work to give the paper a coat of acrylic varnish (matt or glossy) and stick them to the mold and after it is dry just add the jesmonite? I love your trays, the colours and the composition.
heyyyy Sabine xx that could work yes i tried glue but the paper curled x
I have done this last year it was a true nightmare to demold the leaves even if I have glued them. But the ones that came out was beautifull !
Ahhhh I am glad you have tried this it is fun isnt it xx
Hiya Claire these are really pretty, just a thought, would a real flower press flatten your paper leaves for you better than books tfs Jax 🥰x
heyyyyy Jax thank you so much xx it might do yes I do not have one though :(
Hi Claire.... this may sound dumb... so forgive me... but if you have a 6oz mold how do you calculate 2.5 to 1 for jesmonite. Grateful thanks.
Heyyyyy lovely ... nothing ever is dumb ❤❤❤❤ fill the mould with water. Weighing the water.
Divide that number by 2.
This is your Jesmonite liquid.
Then X 2.5 for powder x
Just found the video Claire which gave me the info... teach me not to be so lazy... thank you so much for the reply... keep up your amazing work we all love it......
@@karenmcilveen7218 ahhhh no worries at all Karen 😍😍 thank you so much xx
would gluing the down help at all before u add the stuff
heyyyy Vicki several have suggested this but my paper curled up when I added glue x
Can we use sand paper and sand it ?? Or no
heyyyy Hoda yes yes you absolutely could do x
Hiii, love your channel ❤ - I'm curious if you can layer resin/uv resin over jesmonite (or similar mediums since I'm unlikely to get my hands on it in America)? I'd like to make something similar but with a layer of cured resin in the mold first but I don't know if they would bond ?? I also recently purchased a microfleur microwavable flower press and I'm so eager to try it! Thanks for any insight - Sam
heyyyy Sam Jesmonite does not stick to resin no ... it will stay on for a while but there is a risk it will pop apart x Resin does stick to Jesmonite though ... so it could be top coated x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner oh cool thank you, that's exactly what I needed to know. 🙂
