You simply cannot make a sitcom as good as this one again. The jokes, the cast, the plot. Everything was so ahead of its time. Can't even imagine how much backlash they would've gotten if they filmed this in today's age, with all the sensitive Karens lurking and waiting for anything to bitch about.

The chemistry between Charlie Sheen's character ( charlie harper) and Jon Cryer's character ( Alan Harper) along with the innocence of Angu's charactter ( jake harper) were what made this show actually funny and worth watching!!!! When Charlie Harper died, its like all the pieces of the puzzle fell apart, thus the show died along with him. That's my opinion!

Charlie's house has a side door, just in front of Charlie's liquor cabinet (on the right edge of the kitchen, as seen from the central camera angle). But more importantly: Alan tells Jake to go watch TV, which is in the corner of the kitchen/living room.
Charlie Sheen was so perfect for this role and I enjoyed his performances many, many times. I still find it so sad Mr. Sheen allowed drugs and a disreputable life style to cause him so much physical harm, mental anguish and pain. Good luck Mr. Sheen I hope you are able to recover.

Having worked around unions, when the union won’t give specifics for why they are striking, it is because they are guilty of worse... I have Jewish ancestry, I have many Jewish friends, I stopped attending Southern Baptist churches in 1989 when a keynote speaker at the southern baptist convention started their address with the phrase, “We have to start working on the Jews again,” but Lorre using that comment as an excuse to fire Charlie and talk bad about him in public without telling us what caused the response, makes me not give a damn about the response, because if they won’t tell us why Charlie said it, than it is because it was an appropriate response.
