i think the fact that we don’t get to see him actually attack him, but we hear freddie’s screams and the grunts and then the blood splatter hits makes it even more scary. it leads us to use our imagination. man this was tough

Exactly, the characters should have said goodbye would have had such more impact. The therapist was never explained properly. They should have done some thing were Cook found the body after he went to the psycho pedo and called the police and shit. Then he would have gone in and done his time and stuff too. Would make more sense.

Chris' death felt a lot more realistic and therefore tragic. It was revealed that this medical cindition ran in his family and he had never taken the treatment seriously + he took a lot of drugs.

I believe that death was not unnecessary, we all expected something similar since the psychiatrist wanted to get rid of it, he wanted her to forget it, But I wish and loved that they had made it more realistic and not so drastic, not so cruel ...

I think it’s very dumb of the director to have a character die in every generation.It’s just not realistic as the show itself is.I mean like not in every teen friend group a person dies.It’s awful that almost nothing has an happy ending

I 100% agree. I was so annoyed yet still extremely upset we never got to see her reaction if she knew he was dead. I don’t believe Freddie would’ve j left without saying goodbye. It was upsetting for me that she thought he “just left her”. I don’t see Freddie doing that. If he’d leave, I figure he’d say goodbye to her

Well it's when it loses its steam I would say is the more appropriate term. It's partially redeemed when Cook kills Foster, but when gen 3 comes yeah that's when it loses hard

I literally didnt even bother to finish the season after this. I have no regrets, from the comments, nothing even bothers to make up for it, no aftermath just that, over, brushed under the rug, a small thing with cook but doesn't even begin to makeup for this. So yeah Ill stick to gen 1.

Season 7 could've been Effy solving his murder, which would clear Cook's name. Would've been extra good if at the end they find out it's too late to clear Cook's name because of everything that happened in his episode. Instead we got a watered down Effy as an investment banker sleeping with her boss. So boring.

i looked forward to season 7 so much assuming shit like what you said but with cassie being added for some reason. dissapointed and i didn't like what they did with effy either because i felt like they just did stereotypical effy of what people think
@@Stupig522 Cook was the only great two parter of season 7. Effy was a mess and irritating. Cassie was just boring. But Cook wrapped it up nicely. His epilogue will always be one of the most amazing things ever for me

He was one of my favorite characters, this scene was traumatizing no lie. Not only did his dad and sister lose a mother and brother, but Effy lost her boyfriend while she just recovered from depression. I don’t know what type of message they where trying to send with this….good people get killed by psychopaths? I felt like they missed the mark by doing this scene, and the end of season 4 felt empty, like everything was for nothing.

Makes no sense everyone thought he ran away:
1. It’s just not in his character to do so at ALL
2. Did Cook just never mention finding Freddy’s bloodied clothes in Fosters house yet got imprisoned for killing him? Why would he keep that to himself?
3. Surely Freddy’s family would’ve found out? The last place he went was Fosters.
Cook Never got into prison he just fled and disappeared and was on the run from that moment on. I guess cook never returned so he wouldn’t get caught by the police so yes he probably never told anyone.
If Cook told anyone it could get to the police and he was going to be in jail probably for the rest of his life because he killed Jonh

Whenever people talk about Gen 2 being the best, I remember how ridiculous this particular arc was.
but... but why? it was so cheap for a quick shock but no real follow-up or anything - just a passing mention
So I come back here - after years without thinking about this show - hoping I’d missed some detail or something about this scene, maybe due to my young age or maybe for watching a poorly uploaded episode with missing parts.... But no, it really was the nonsensical mess I remember watching. Wow.

I was told Freddie was gonna die but I did not expect him to die this way
I never understood the brutality of this scene when I first watched it but now watching it older you see the blood spatter and it’s like “damn.. dude opened Freddie’s head up like a watermelon”
I didn't think he was dead, I thought he beat him to keep him captive to tell effy to take him back or something, I was so shocked in the end I couldn't fucking believe it
It's been years and I still can't forgive the writers for making up this shitty ending for Freddie's character. He was among the best and yet, he's been just dumped out of screen like that with no aftermath to it!!
Most frustrating thing about this, gravity would’ve worked in Freddy’s favour, if he just launched himself at the DR, DR would’ve fallen downstairs in an awkward position.
Age would make a difference, Fred could handle the fall, the DR would struggle giving Freddie a chance to escape or return the favour.
The writers of this episode should be ashamed of themselves.

The fact that he apparently made zero attempt to defend himself that makes it crazy.

Still angry about this scene considering that Freddie literally had the high ground and yet he stood there and did absolutely nothing. I suppose he could have been paralysed with fear or unsure about whether or not John was serious about attacking him, but I think it was just due to bad writing. If you’re going to write out a beloved character for no reason, at least make it make sense.
Also some people say that Freddie thought John was going to open the door for him, but if that was the case, why would John be holding a bat? Makes no sense to me.
Because that’s Freddie’s character. He isn’t violent and fearless. He isn’t Cook.
He must've been scared and confused but the bat was a real red flag.

Lol bruh the minute he's on the second step I'm silverback leaping off the top of the steps onto the dude before picking up the bat breaking open the door and beating the s*** out of him with it.

I get it that every generation someone had to die, but killing a main character off screen and handle this like a mistery just so it's uncovered in the final scene was a horrible move.
Even the third generation that is garbage has a better character death than this.
I’m sorry but wouldn’t any logical person kick him in the face using the bannister as something to balance on. He has a clear advantage and is up hill, he could literally jump on him and make him fall over with his momentum and then in the meantime grab his bat and then use it on him but instead, he stood there and allowed him to get at the same level and then kill him. Like how the fuck would anyone not predict that’s going to happen. Furthermore, why walk into a lions den??

His whole character was revolved around Effy. Outside of that love triangle, he wasn’t very interesting. At least Cook had more to layers to him and didn’t need a love interest to make him stand out. I didn’t mind Freddie, but he wasn’t anything special.

I literally don't know how I missed Freddie's death but I did. I was just as confused as the other characters were.. I didn't even realise until the last episode when Cook found his bloody clothes. I found out because of a skins retrospective video and in result got the urge to search for this and this wasn't what I was expecting at all. I LITERALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW I SKIPPED THIS PART. This still hit hard and the fact that they didn't get no explanation about what happened to him hurts even more. I wish they showed the reaction of the others, more JJ and Cook's reaction than Effy's since they have been friends since childhood and because Freddie was so focused on Effy, he didn't have room to connect with the other characters in the show which kinda sucks.
