- In an awe-inspiring display of talent and determination, 16-year-old sophomore Alijah Arenas, son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, lit up the Golden 1 Center with a staggering 44 points during Chatsworth's Division IV state basketball game against Monterey. Despite Chatsworth's 74-66 loss, Alijah's performance set a Division IV record and marked the second-greatest scoring achievement in state basketball history.
With Gilbert Arenas providing encouragement from courtside, Alijah's remarkable feat not only highlights his burgeoning basketball prowess but also underscores the legacy of athletic excellence in the Arenas family. Making 17 of 32 shots, Alijah's effort was a bright spot in an otherwise challenging game for Chatsworth, which struggled to overcome a slow start and a well-balanced Monterey team.
Chatsworth's journey to the state game, bolstered by strong performances from teammates such as 6-foot-8 center Taj Unuakhalu, who dominated with 19 rebounds and nine blocks, showcased the team's resilience and potential. As Alijah reflects on his record-setting day and looks ahead, the basketball community buzzes with excitement for what the future holds for this young star.
Join us as we delve into this unforgettable moment in state basketball history, celebrating Alijah Arenas' achievement and the supportive presence of Gilbert Arenas, who witnessed his son etch his name into the record books. #AlijahArenas #GilbertArenas #StateBasketball #RecordBreaking #ChatsworthBasketball

Y’all see the look in Alijah’s eyes after the game in the locker room change when he looked at his father’s smiling face. I damn near cried. This is why fathers are SO important! 15:09
Y’all cry baby asses 😂😂
Yea I saw that. I don't even like Gil but you can tell he's a great dad and he loves his kids.
🔥👍🏾💯💪🏾
@@330wiz7how u dont like Gil but still watch his content??😂😂😂

Imma go back n watch the video now. Thank you for marking this.

The audio edit is hilarious …. That windows noise 😂😂😂
Gil raising his son to be straight killer on the court. He looking like a future monster 💯
Ball hog
@@Gilgamesh3six9🤷🏾♂️…but a monster still
If he has a Russell Westbrook engine then it’s up for the competition.
@@Gilgamesh3six9 he supposed to hog in HS basketball then learn to pass later. Besides Gil didn’t pass either so what do you expect
@@Gilgamesh3six9 A Ball Hog Monster that will be a future all star.
Just like Gil to say "Even though we didn't win, we won" 😂
Make more parent content!! You a great father that most people dont have its great to see examples and motivations in your regular day to day father life
I second this 👌
I can really appreciate that you gave players some ideas but didn't tell them what to do, you let them figure it out for themselves. That's the best kind of coaching.
Terrible advice. You should tell them exactly what to do in every situation. Then allow them to pick from all the information you've given.
@@MrHeat1upno you want the player to slowly figure out and encourage them. The best way to do that is to offer different ideas, basically to give the biggest toolbox possible, at this age you only want to encourage.
Confidence, coaching, and keeping the "fun" alive are equally important at this age. Also there's more than one answer, just because Gill sees a one way doesn't mean that's the right way for the kid.
You're one track mind shows your ignorance.
@asgasg23 ok, I find low intellect individuals resulting in name calling, a waste of time to debate with.
@@asgasg23Its dependent on player, if the player after x amount time only shows the ability to make reads when told what to do. He needs direction. If you have a player that shows naturally higher IQ. You give him an infastructure and allow him to adapt. But for majority of the time. You have to train players into making the correct read. Everybody has to be coached differently. But good habits are formed early
Shout-out the father, mother's, stand-ins, & coaches for the children with minimal or no moral support also. Congratulations House of Arenas!!! 🎉
As a father myself, especially black father, it’s great to see you being such a presence in your children’s lives. We need more of that in our community. Regardless of the outcome, the effort was there, and as long as the work ethic continues, the results will continue to improve as well. Blessings to you guys!
Black has nothing to do with it. Enryone around me was white and none of us had dads. All broke. Stop with the race stuff man
I salute u way more bro.. don't get me wrong i like to see it for him too!! But it's way more easier for him to b there than an average regular father.. because at dis point he has errthang it takes n need to b there every step of da way!! But for an average father it's way harder because an average father would probably have to b at work or sum!! It would be way more disappointing seeing him not there than him being there!! If u get wat I'm tryna say!! But yea salute all black fathers da ones who are really there helping raising dem babies da right way! N salute you bro if u really holding it down too!!!!!
Im very glad he kept his son in public school where he can make his own name and remain humble in the process
Public school probably exposes him to more ppl too
“Don’t let the laziness win” 😮🔥
dont let the lazy you win*
Gil is a great dad! I love the fact that his kids talk shit just like he does! The younger son wasn’t playing with the ref at all!😂😂 Congrats to Alijah!
This "IS" a Flex...being a real supportive Father! Respect.
Loving these vlogs of Gil being a dad. He makes it look cool
Gil trying to make sure his son go 1st round 🤣. Agent 0 part 2: the return of hibachi
By 1st round you mean lottery right (top 5)...😂😂😂 With him already being 6' 5' - 6' 6' handles & he can get buckets anywhere on the floor. Even if he was a passive type of player he would still be a problem in the league. But since Gil has created this assassin; he'll be an option 1 guy in the league...SMH
He going lo lower than 2
Made thatt mf sound like a sequel to a classic 🤣🤣
His son is an obvious top 3 pick in '27
MORE OF THIS CONTENT GIL
Man Gil's son took his team to a championship and had 44 pts as a Sophomore, very impressive! I'm not surprised after I heard Gil telling Unc the training he puts his son through 5 in the morning before school, then practice after school. He trains his son like a professional, much respect Gil and keep putting in that work Alijah 💪🏽
Absolutely. And this is only going to ignite the fire even more! Can’t wait to see this kid’s growth.
Great work Alijah congratulations on winning a scoring title 🏅4️⃣4️⃣
Salute to Gil man he came from being raised by a single father that showed him how to be a man and raise his kids the right way solid brotha !
Gilbert done created a goddamn monster. He is the second chosen 1.

Yooo his daughter a monster too!!! Shit crazy 4real
By the time he's done growing he'll be a 6"10 Gilbert. Kid reminds me of Jason Tatum

Shout out to Melli on the cam work lol😂
I thought I was the only one heard her laughing at Gil snappin on the ref lmfao 😂😂
Props to Alijah and his team because it is an achievement to even make to the final round!!!! Congrats to him for his record breaking performance. Best of luck to him and his future in basketball!

Salute to you Gil and Alijah! Beautiful Father and Son relationship. Keep pushing. I know you are a proud Dad. 🏀🔥🏀💯💯💯
Big fan of him not being overbearing and trying to dictate corrections on to the player.
He was encouraging, offering potential solutions, but more so than trying to fix a specific mistake, he was mentoring and suppoeting them. Big fan of that.
I love seeing him play, he gonna be an all American. I hate they lost dough, no pain no gain
💯Awesome Job Gil ....and Lil' Gil Alijah....Keep Rising🏀.... Congratulations🏀....

Gil being a Navy Chief and father while currently deployed. I will tell you we all enjoyed this. Great example of being a parent, and more relatable not going Hollywood getting the PJ just being you and that’s what we love!!!!
Congrats to your son bro. I wish I could have seen you. I was there later watching Oakland Tech
Your son going to be a monster in the league. Can’t wait be watching since he was a kid.
Bro. Thank you so much 🙏 I been waiting haha I asked quick hoops why no upload and got the. The arena won't allow it. I say that to say. Trust Gil to come through in the clutch. Rather big fan of you son my Nika. ❤️❤️❤️
✌@No Chill Gil I watched the gm live. Great behind the scenes look! Like the OG said, just needed more help. Alijah and the junior center gave it all they had. Looking forward to watching his junior & senior yrs! Too many missed layups and chippies by the squad throughout to overcome. Beautiful family, keep up the great! Love this! 🔥🔥🔥
Love to see Gil mobbing with and for his kids tho respect ✊🏾 🫡
Love this! Congratulations to the state champions, good game
Gil I just love how real you are if I can share why I'm such a fan of yours 1st you used to come down the Goodman with no security and play in Barry Farms when I lived there for a couple of years always a son of DC. Second when Katrina happened the city brought refugees from New Orleans to the DC stadium armory you bought a couple of box trucks of supplies and didn't want to be on camera just wanted to be a blessing. and last your take on basketball is how exactly how I see it with the evolution and old heads stuck like a final score of 81-69 was an exciting NBA game a girls high school game maybe lol. But keep up the good work with your kids I know your son will be an assassin I'm definitely watching oh and your daughter too.
Alijah is a DAWG! Thank you Gil, for pushing him and bringing out the best in him.

@@businessmanwilliams true. Its a buisness descision
11:02 😂GIL MADE THE KID MISS THE WIDE OPEN LAY-UP BY YELLING “REGULAR LAY-UP”. THAT BOY WAS READY TO DUNK💪🏾
No he was trying to convince the player to stay with it as emotions and complete the play with a regular layup, and not to try to outdo himself with a dunk.
You’re so smart Gil. Why let someone else record your son and your reaction at the game when you can literally do it yourself. Make the money for yourself 🙌🏾🔥 I see the vision my guy frfr
1000%. Gil really the GOAT of the content ish. I disagree with some of his trolls sometimes lol. But he the GAIT
