These are some of the greatest sportsmanship moments in NBA history but they get increasingly more wholesome as the video goes on. Business Inquiries: mcosh3@gmail.com
Nah honestly I thought it was both of them laughing at Deandre Ayton who was the 1st pick of that draft. Oh ooops I just triggered some Suns fans KEKW.
It sounds like a feel good story but Gordon himself rebutted the rumor by saying it was not intentional via twitter. Even Mike Tirico (guy on phone) said his assumption was wrong.
They were literally competing for a the final play-off spot lol. They lost and missed being the 8th seed in the west and finished in 9th by 1 game. Gordon had zero intention of trying to help Kobe.
Just because he’s in here I wanna say that as a Jazz fan, Gordon Hayward was always a gentleman and a scholar for us. Of course hindsight is 20/20 so a lot of people wish we got Paul George but Hayward did everything he could for us and treated us right as well
Lol fucc no that was not intentional. He was salty af that Kobe dropped 60 mostly on him. Nobody wanna be on the receiving end of that lol. You guys are trippin. I guarantee you all Utah players would rather blow out Kobe and hold him to 5/20 shooting than suffer this in his final game. Gtfo here 😂
Kobe told his teammates that Dirk was going to take the last shot and where he would do it from when they were in the huddle before this last play. If you watch the extended version of this you'll see him tell his teammates, "I told you." That was a game winning shot by the way.
People always complain about there not being beef in the NBA anymore (which I still think is untrue, just for the record), but I think a league where most players get along is one to strive for at the end of the day. I absolutely love seeing the mutual respect between players. These are all very special individuals and should recognize each other as such.
I agree to a certain extent. I also think there is some legitimate beef in the NBA. I'd wager that Jokic and Morris aren't exchanging Christmas cards yet.
@@TheDendra7 Do you never compete with your friends or family? You can absolutely want to destroy someone competitively and love that person. It's comments like these that make me realize that most people haven't done anything competitive in their lives.
5 on 5 where you see the same faces on the other team over 20 or so times in a year. Yeah it's gonna be personal it's not the same as some coworkers in a job because each of them knows the work put in to get at that level. Then you have the fact these guys go to different teams more often than other sports so you see familiar faces and guys who are now your teammates and you get to know em better. So everybody knows everybody
3:49 I can’t explain just how much i love that interaction between Don and Jrue, them both smiling and giving each other five and Love jokingly pushing them away like “ arrright cmon now you’re supposed to be opponents no hugs”. The whole thing is so wholesome
I think about Steven Adams passing up the open layup to save his defender from falling often. He became one of my favorite players after that. Honorable mention: in a post-game interview this playoffs, someone asked Jokic about losing mvp this season and he said that he thought Embiid should’ve won it - that was a big respect moment
Adams could have easily had an and one layup but he felt making sure Plumlee was okay was more important. That's serious class right there, and from a guy most players are afraid of, no less.
The best edited sports compilation I’ve ever seen. The audio transitions were all perfect and all the replays and everything was super clear and well paced, what a vid
I haven't followed basketball closely in years and barely even keep up with the playoffs so I'm certainly not speaking from an informed opinion but this is just a brilliant video - a whole side of the NBA, and of sports, that I think gets too little attention. So much of sports is about tension and so much of sports coverage is about dilating that tension even further and the result is that you rarely see the comradery and community that extends beyond the bounds of a single team. There's a shared and deserved respect amidst sheer competitiveness and that is worth a standing applaud.
Gordon Hayward came out after Kobe’s death and said that he didn’t intentionally step into the lane so that there could be another attempt if he missed. “He got 60 on me and I didn’t give him anything free all night. What happened on the free throw line was not intentional. Kobe would’ve lost respect for me if I gave him something free. That’s what made him so very special.”
Ja being wholesome is so wild after all the media about him. He's made mistakes but he's far from irredeemable, there's this wholesome sportsman Ja that just shows his passion for basketball.
I don't think his off court activity should change how fans view him as a basketball player but it's difficult to treat the two mutually exclusively. That being said, one wholesome interaction on the court doesn't cancel out a proven track record of acting dumb on social media. He's still young so it's possible that he can mature but not everyone does (such as Draymond).
@@kaylinsmith6921 It was Vince's last game ever. It was shortened covid season 2020, Atlanta didn't make it to the play-off. Knicks let him retire with a bang.

Not going to lie, this is a nice look and different aspect that I believe is good to see. I love the disrespectful dunks and hard competitiveness but this is beautiful as well
I think my favorite of these is the Bobby Portis block, because the incredulous look from Bradley Beal is just so great. It's as if to say, "Did you not see the amazing play I made to get that layup?!? How you gonna rob me of that highlight reel!?" My man worked way too hard to get rejected that solidly at the very end.
it is wholesome when you’re so appreciative of the sport you play that when your opponent does a cool move you’re just as excited about it and congratulate them. that’s awesome, kudos to theses professionals!
I've seen these sort of compilations before but this one is particularly good because the clips make it very obvious that traveling is going on with various players better than other compilations I've seen. It'd be interesting to know how many such egregious travels have occurred during playoff series' when a missed call by a ref can have negative consequences for the livelihoods of a lot of people.
Trae and Luka watching the shot like they're still kids on the court never gets old
srsly tho like it’s so adorable

Gordon setting the standard for wholesomeness. I'm gonna put my foot on the floor when my wife is mopping in case she misses a spot, she can blame me.
Gordon is on record saying that was an accident on his part🤷♂️ look it up

@@joshjoshjoshjoshjoshjoshj Well of course. he isn't going to say he thought kobe might miss it.

Didn’t give a fk if his team won or not
@@nondos9742Some team in the west won that night so by the 3rd quarter jazz knew they weren’t gonna make the playoffs
Hey can you explain that? Why was it so important for kobe to hit that free throw?
Okay I found it. However gordon himself says he did not do it on purpise. He said that right after kobes death via twitter so I thin its legit
Just because he’s in here I wanna say that as a Jazz fan, Gordon Hayward was always a gentleman and a scholar for us. Of course hindsight is 20/20 so a lot of people wish we got Paul George but Hayward did everything he could for us and treated us right as well

hayward said he was going to resign and then signed with the Celtics did not do us right
Nah he did The Jazz dirty af with the way he left.

The respect from Kobe to Dirk is beautiful to see. He even said "Tough guy" in the end, amazing sportsmanship there.
Said tough shot i think but yeah Kobe recognized great ones
Kobe told his teammates that Dirk was going to take the last shot and where he would do it from when they were in the huddle before this last play. If you watch the extended version of this you'll see him tell his teammates, "I told you." That was a game winning shot by the way.
@@ericcouch That's craaaazy! I'm going to look for the full version, tyy.
I thought he said “every time”. Nobody on that court knows that Dirk takes and makes that shot 9 times out of 10 better than Kobe.

it's always so nice to see star players embrace after a game. really shows that the NBA is a family.

sometimes somebody need to point that all and all this is a baskeball game. Sportsmanship its always better that anything else...

I really wish the MLB would start this. It always sucks seeing one team high-five themselves after a game. Totally pathetic.
4:45 military guy is on his phone and pretends he saw the shot lol

As a new, casual fan. Players like Luka and Trae looking like they're having a blast out there is one of the most enjoyable parts of watching
I'll always respect Doc for shouting out my GOAT, Dirk🙏🏽
The Dirk / Kobe moment is one of my all-time favorites. Such an awesome moment between two legends.

Gordon Hayward a legend for that
3:56 Undoubtedly the "passing of the torch" moment right here. Legendary stuff
Doc with 1 of the classiest moves ever. Making sure Dirk got his flowers in an opposing teams arena.
That 4:45 moment Luka and Trae are wholesome🙌🏽
They look like kids playing basketball to see if the shot is good. Just look that their happy faces.

Was obviously very unrehearsed which made me laugh but also made it so much more genuine. Dirk's NBA journey is one of the great stories.
