    that Stanley workmaster is one of the best ratchets made (IMO)...i use the 3/8 version (86-200) daily...it's only 43 teeth, but it has never failed in 40 years....to clean it just swirl in some solvent and the dip it in oil...you never even really need to take it apart.

    EE was a manufacturers mark indicating they were made by Stanley, unfortunately during this time frame both Stanley and Craftsman were sued by the FTC for marking Taiwanese tools with USA markings. They were not terrible tools,(and a great deal at eleven dollars) but my personal opinion is that they were not as good as the earlier v series tools from the Moore/Easco era. If you really like the Craftsman thumbwheel ratchets keep your eyes out for the fine tooth quick release ratchets. Thanks for sharing. 👍

      Damn I hope these weren’t fake USA! I have the 1/4 inch v series quick release. I love that thing. One of my favorite sets. Been looking for the 3/8 forever.

      @TylerSnyder305 Před rokem

      @@realworldtoolreviews they're not fake USA because they stopped claiming they were made here.
      The sockets were made here, just the ratchets weren't.
      The old MDF / EASCO " RHFT " was the best Craftsman ever offered, and was in their catalog longer than anything else.

      @@realworldtoolreviews the ratchet is actually Stanley sourced and made in Taiwan.
      They offered a Blackhawk with the same mechanism which they claimed was US made, but it's dubious.
      This same identical ratchet/ mechanism was also made during the time when Stanley got in trouble for lying about COO, and is still offered today with the true COO on it.
      I got the 1/4 and 3/8 in a large NOS master mechanic set last year and gave them away, because they were Taiwanese and I only wanted the sockets and wrenches...etc anyways.
      The USA marked Blackhawk 1/4 version I have is very stiff.

    Those flat bars are so useful. I still use my Stanley wonderbar from 1978. The long spin tights or nut drivers were great when I did a lot of site lighting ballast replacements in deep "shoebox" fixtures. Nice haul.

    that's a late 1980's set..looks to be about 40 pieces...my first set was the 83 piece set...cost about $89 back then...or just over a buck a tool...i still have all my originals...made in Taiwan...i lost the case years ago but found a replacement on eBay...the set is now back to what it was when original...no real value but it does have sentimental value to me.

  • @qzetu

    I don't think the top part is meant to hold stuff in it while closed. It's used when you are working on something. You put bolts and other stuff in them to keep things organized while you are working. I know because the lid is not made to hold things inside. Otherwise, it would have clips or something to lock it. There is nothing wrong with the case, just clean it up and hit it with some grey paint and it will be fine. Definitely a good find.

    • @realworldtoolreviews
      @realworldtoolreviews  Před rokem

      There are some tabs that seem like they used to hold the top part in, but maybe not. Somebody suggested using some strong Velcro. I think I might do that

    • @michelle-lz8tg
      @michelle-lz8tg Před 3 měsíci

      the value is in the case...they may look cheap because they are...but they are also as rare as hens teeth...these rarely survived more than a few months before the rear 'hinge' let go and they were tossed....p.s.....i had a saved search on eBay for over 10 years before a replacement case for my set actually showed up....don't paint the case...liquid laundry soap and a stiff brush will bring it back to new.
