That’s clever. She tells you, you don’t get it, she gives an example of something that happened in the past to get you thinking in the past tense, then repeats her point hoping hoping that the added context/tense will help you to connect the dots. Maybe. A bit more complicated than e.g. ‘Before night smell kitty potty’ but who knows, it would kinda make sense.
It makes sense that she was interested in the kitty potty, and maybe she heard the kitty doing its business when it happened in the middle of the night (and that's why she woke you up). But why did she start this conversation with "where"?
It's a good question, and I'm not 100% sure! It could be that she wanted to know where the kitty was in general, thinking that if it is pottying in our backyard it should be around somewhere?
Because the animal smell disappeared and that made her super uncomfortable. Like is it on the roof noe? Waiting to pounce when you leave? Or did it go? And if so..Where did it go to? She does not like whatever it is... Listen. #1 mistake handlers make when tracking? Is assuming different from dog. Trust n believe.
I think I’ve seen dogs use WHERE to let you know they’re talking about a location. Using BACKYARD could mean she was just asking to go there. I could be very wrong, but it was a conscious choice not to just use backyard, be interesting to see if this forms a pattern in the future.
Need button for - predator or wild animal. Prolly NOT a kitty. And her saying chew settled her? LoL? Shes saying shed be settled if she could bite whatever strange animal strayed into your backyard. See? She wants whatever it is? GONE and she believes she should bite n chew that animal to feel better...;(
I know it an older video but am currently stuck on a smell issue with our buttons. We have one for smell and one for dinner. He only uses the dinner one if I’m cooking or he already ate and smells something. I’ve been modeling the smell button as much as I have any other but seems like we are at a stuck place. We have now 20 some buttons and he uses about half of them regularly. Should I just kind of plug away or take away the ones he doesn’t use as much? Thanks if anybody feels like answering!
I’m of the opinion that you should just plug away. Parker didn’t use her window button for a year and a half! But then she finally did when she felt she had a reason for it. So you never know when they’ll find it relevant.
Thank the lord I have a stupid, lazy dog. She has no interest in playing just wants to go for a walk, hopefully chase a hare or something then back home for snoozles. I haven’t the energy for all this any more

Honestly me neither!

@@CrepuscularChaot That is a plausible explanation.
