What a great day in Praia do Forte, a beach village an hour away from Salvador, Bahia.
A great place for a weekend family holiday with your kids.

Did a tour to Praia de Forte. On our way there, we stopped over at the house of Vinícius de Moraes (one of the composers to the song Girl from Ipanema) and then later, on our way back, stopped over at Praia de Guarajuba for lunch. What a beautiful day that was.
o Brasil tem 3 Praias do Forte. Uma na Bahia( onde eles estão no Video, outra em Santa Catarina , Florianópolis e outra no Rio de Janeiro. Eu conheço e moro em Praia do Forte- Ba , por mais de 25 anos. E nunca ouvi que Vinícios de Morais, tivesse ou têm casa por aqui. Geralmente essas coisas saem na mídia. Mas é Possível e eo qu esou fora da mídia, não sabia.,
@@IRINEU918 yes it was indeed his house - if I recall, it was about 15min out of Salvador in the neighbourhood of Itapua, on our way to Praia do Forte. The tour company stopped over there, gave us a history lesson, there were huge plaques up against an outside wall with the lyrics to all the different songs they wrote and a pretty cool statue of him of which I took a photo sitting next to him. What made this more special is that a week earlier, I took a selfie next to the statue of Tom Jobim in Rio de Janeiro (Apoador)

Praia do Forte é o limite da região metropolitana de Salvador.
Um dos meus lugares favoritos, de Salvador até a vila é por volta de 1 hora e pouco de carro, quase uma reta a pista.
É um lugar extremamente seguro, limpo e bem organizado, com piscinas naturais com água morna o ano inteiro e muita coisa pra fazer durante o ano.

I'm happy you guys came to Nordeste. Tourists usually only goe to SP and RJ. Nordeste is the birthplace of the country you'll realize how strong the local culture is.

i love praia do forte, i went on my honeymoon. now i want to take my kids there. the tamar project is very important for the enviroment, i enjoyed a lot

I love Praia do Forte, I've been to this same Projeto Tamar branch many years ago, lot of things to see and lot of things to learn. Steve said in the video it's mostly for children, but Projeto Tamar is an organization which the focus is to care for sea turtles and many other marine species (by the way Tamar stands for Ta = Tartaruga (turtle) and Mar = Marinha (marine) in case you guys didn't notice) but also aims to bring awareness about conservation of the sea and its species to the population in general, it's far from a "resort" as Steve said at the beginning, it's mainly a research center, and a place for people to go to learn. Great video guys, watching the last videos you're making in Bahia I feel huge amounts of nostalgia. Ilhéus, Itacaré, Salvador, Praia do Forte are magical places that are part of my childhood and I think everyone should pay a visit some time in their lives, before considering traveling abroad, even.

If you can, in Praia do Forte there is the ruins of the only medieval castle in the entire American continent. Garcia davila castle. 430 y.o, and the old Gameleira tree. 140 y.o.

One of the things that you cant miss in PF (its how the locals call Praia do Forte) is the little fish cakes and the roskas drinks from souza bar.

Fui várias vezes aqui quando meu marido trabalhava Camaçari e morava em Salvador. Tem um peixe vermelho frito inteiro que nunca comi tão bom em outro lugar.
Está praia e linda, e o projeto tamar é fantástico
Lindo lugar e tem brasileiro querendo ir pra fora do pais pra visitar lugares iguais a esse.
Iguais a esse lugar na Bahia não existe, a Bahia é surreal na natureza exuberante e nas praias paradisíaca

Eu já morei na Bahia 8 anos e hoje moro fora e digo: Quando eu voltar pro Brasil com dinheiro, não existe outro lugar que eu queira morar que não a Bahia. Mais especificamente na região entre Ilhéus e Porto Seguro. É um lugar realmente mágico, já passei por muitos lugares em alguns países, mas não existe nada como a Bahia.
@@ArielRSt o governo deveria fazer uma campanha nacional pra incentivar cada vez mais o turismo dos brasileiros pelo país. Aqui temos variadas paisagens incríveis e cada vez estão de preparando para receber os turistas.

If you’re still in Praia do Forte I recommend dropping by Sorveteria da Ribeira. Their coco verde (green coconut) ice cream is super good and the tapioca one isn’t far behind.

37 years ago Praia do Forte was almost desert. There was only the church and the ruins of the fort. Nowadays the shops and restaurants are better than Buzios! And the beach is way better! Warm calm waters.
