- I went to Ghana for the Year of Return and had an amazing time! This Ghana vlog 2019 series will take you through my time in this amazing country. My entire trip was booked and curated by Gone 2 Ghana: tsabd.com/2SRN827. I heard about this because some of my blogger friends went last year and I said YOLO and booked my travel. Gone 2 Ghana booked everything: my flights, hotel, group transportation, activities, food, etc. All I did was pay my money and show up...lol. There were parts of the trip I would tweak had I done it on my own, but since planning trips is not my favorite thing, this was a good option for me. I will give more thoughts on this trip in an upcoming Q&A video! Stay tuned!
What is the Year of Return? 2019 marked 400 years since the first enslaved Africans were taken from West Africa to the US. There was a call for those descendants to return "home" in 2019. This is one of the reasons why you saw so many of your fave Black celebrities and influencers in Ghana this December.

Hey Girl, Hey!!! The Accra Arts Centre was one of my favs of the whole trip. They are REALLY aggressive. This is the my 3rd time in Africa, so I knew the deal. However, my friend kept stopping and talking to each vendor...and you know how that is...all of them swarm on you. I had my 1st Thai Massage in Ghana, and it was AMAZING. The prices are soooo good like you mentioned. I paid 150 cedis=$26 for 90 minutes...yasss...Overall, I would say that I enjoyed my trip to Ghana, and I am glad you did too. I am looking forward to returning in the future, but I am also happy to be back at home in my own space.

I’m happy to see our African queens having a blast without being harassed or call the popo on them like being African and having fun is a crime ..As the Jamaican regreaa artist peter tosh once said no matter where you came from so long you are a black man you are an African.....let’s go back to our ancestral home and help rebuild our motherland

It actually wasn’t the place to be-at least not for dinner. We actually were not feeling it but decided to make the best of it anyway...lol. I got tired of complaining about how our nightlife kept sucking on this trip lol
I was in Ghana for 6 months and went to the Art Center about 45 days out of the 6 months. Want to build a house there soon. I love Ghana!!!

We went to that market twice to shop and once for an African drum class/lesson. The vendors were definitely friendly and aggressive but it was fun. Our last day was spent at the Kempinski having massages as well for an hour then we used their spa facilities. The best $75 USD I spent that day!

The Style and Beauty Doctor I really enjoyed the trip besides almost dying in ubers and that ride to Elmina castle. It helped that I felt like a baller with my cedis 🤣 The people were kind. Afrochella was a mess and maybe we should’ve done Afronation. Afrochella started out so nice and then it wasn’t. I would go again.
The Style and Beauty Doctor and I lost 10lbs in Ghana! I knew I was loosing weight with all the sweating I did!
