In Ghana, exploring local markets are a good way to get to know the local people of Ghana. There are many markets to explore, Makola being one of the most popular ones. I went to Makola local market here in Ghana for a day and filmed my experience. You can find a vast majority of things in this market being sold at bulk rates. Despite the chaos around here you can get a good bargain in this Ghana market.

The UK, matter of fact, all of the diaspora, is so cringe lol BTW you sound like me when I explain 😂😂...I be like, I'm Jamaican, my dad's from Clarendon, my mom's from SaintE, but I was born abroad. Sometimes they be sounding disappointed 🙄 until they realize I know Jamaica very well and hear I grew up there when I was younger 😑

I heard the term "su-su" That term is used in Jamaica and its a term for saving :

Susu means exactly the same in Ghana.
Susu means savings
It’s so amazing about what you said about susu. This is a well known term in Ghana concerning contributions. Having it in Jamaica means our ancestors were doing the susu many centuries ago. I heard the word susupon in one of Bob Marley’s songs a long time ago and it got me wondering if it got any links with the word susu.

You did good Jasmine. I love a good shopping trip, seeing what all the Vendors have to offer. I see so many things, I wish I was there to purchase some of the items I saw. Now you must tell me since I couldn’t tell what is the difference between a Nigerian accent and a Ghana accent ? My DNA mostly Nigerian, but Ancestry DNA recently did an update on my DNA and of my African roots, found out some ancestors were from the Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Congo, western Bantu, Benin and Togo and Senegal. Mostly West Africa. It’s strange to know you have connections to a place you never been. When I watch CZcams Videos from certain places in Africa, I feel a strong yearning, connection, like I should be there, that is my Home. Thank you for taking the time to record and share your Videos with us. 🙏🙂
