I can smell it and feel the air just watching. This ride is a classic.
Agreed. This one is one of my favorites. First rode it YEARS ago.
I grew up riding this thing all the time.
I can totally smell it by watching lol.
I rode this thing a lot
I can smell my early childhood from the first walk down the ramp to the loading dock, but especially once the train reached the burning bridge scene.
Rode that many, many times back in the day when the park was Silver Dollar City.
I remember riding this when I was like 7 and it being so much more intense
Aliencanvas 6661 part of that might be that watching it on your phone is not the true experience. For one, the lights are on in this video due to a Christmas theme. And, the main purpose of a roller coaster is the rush of the ride. In real life, with the lights off, this ride is mildly terrifying for most people.
YES SAME I WAS LIKE 8 or something and it was sooo scary I’m going back next week
Same
same bruh
@@Fuckyou_em and i remember a train like popping up and honking at us when you dropped
It felt like I was falling out of my seat when it dropped
I did it once and I was so skinny I Jumped 😂
I’ve had a similar experience. Wasn’t in this ride, but I could have potentially died at king dominion.
When you are small enough, that can commonly happen, but it makes it more of a thrill!
That’s called airtime, coasters are designed to have it
Same
For real
I adore this ride. I love the kitschy-ness of the animatronics, the indoor waterfall, the bridge effects, and the three drops. So much fun! And there's almost never a long line for it.
what dies kitschy-ness mean
@@waveiscursedit’s like saying it’s cheesy.
this ride is over 40 years old...i know it's really out of date but I sure do love it! i have to ride it every time I go
We had a seasons pass in 1981 and my son and I rode it 3 -5 times when ever we went. (we lived in Knoxville). I loved it. The what-ever-it-was at the Worlds Fair scared the crap out of me (my 7 year old LOVED it). This ride I could handle (after the first time). Silver Dollar City was great. - how much has it changed?
Why does this give me more anxiety than mystery mine
SeniorJr today i rode mystery mine 3 times in a row ;-; im intense
These two rides I hate only bc when I rod them first i didn’t know there was a drop
Yeah, it looks like a tame dark ride initially, then it gets dark and it drops but it looks like short drops then it slows down again. It doesn’t really have intense speed throughout like a normal coaster, it’s more of a dark ride/coaster hybrid like a mine ride that was in Wildwood, NJ now it was rebuilt as Black Diamond at Knoebel’s in PA.
The lightning rod made me about crap my pants
@@brave606 i rode the wild eagle 7 times in a row i’m a different breed lol
I like the fact that this ride's drops arent bad. I like this coaster and have rode it many times. I do think the animatronics are quite creepy
omg i went today (to dollywood) and i road my first roller coaster there it was so terrifying but totally worth it. my feet ache now tho heh.
@@emily.1762 I went to Dollywood for my first time yesterday and my first ride was the lightning rod but all the walking made my feet hurt so bad and my back
@@user-ne6nn1zz2f same, i forgot what the names r but i road the wooden one first and it was so scary it didn’t feel stable
The drops aren’t bad at all but hurt your neck. Still a great ride, just part of the experience
skellibone so it’s not just me that hates the robot things
Like how they said “FIRE IN THE HOLE” when it started.
They say it every time they launch a cart.
I remember riding this thing when I was 10, right before we got to the bridge drop I said "I can't believe they call this a roller coaster". Pretty sure I jinxed myself there lol
I think we all thought the same thing the first time we rode this before getting to the drops. 😂
same
This ride is the most terrifying ride at Dollywood! I could not breathe because it was soooo hot inside the ride
But during the line they have ac! But durin the ride I definitely agree
I don’t like it either because A:it’s a dark ride and I have a fear of dark rides, and B: since it’s a dark ride, you can’t expect t he drops and they’re so sudden and I felt the cart pull me forward. It was scary
@@gorillatagjosh3981I don’t know why, but I don’t feel temperature changes most of the time. I’m just built different
With all the added strings, the Christmas version of this ride is practically a "lights on" version.
I still miss the water splashdown at the end. It's a real pity they couldn't keep that
I know, the water splashdown was the best part.
Dang, I didn't know they removed it. When I was really young I rode this with my family and we got stuck at that part. We plunged into the water and didn't make it back up the other side, they had to shut the ride down and walk us up the sides.
I knew it! I knew I couldn’t of been the only one who remembers that.
I KNEW I WASN'T CRAZY! I remember the water splashdown! Why'd they get rid of it?
@@KameWeeb Removing the splashdown reduced maintenance costs.
3:04 terrified me, it was my first roller coaster 😂
Me to!
Lol Same
ive been at dollywood more than 50 times :3 ive road it all the times ive been :3 ish fun
I was so scared
I was scared at the dynamite blast
This was one of the strangest and creepiest rides I've been on.
I’ve never been on it can you explain the creepy part
Well the story is that there is some southern town that’s on fire and there’s a bunch of people (creepy lookin animatronic people) who are struggling to get to safety and I guess the riders are the firefighters?
It’s creepy but very fun
Agreed
i’ve ridden its sister roller coaster (and predecessor) Fire in The Hole at Silver Dollar City many times and it has that effect pretty strongly. it’s my favorite ride in branson and i hope i go on Blazing Fury someday too!
If you’re from Tennessee someone lied to you when you were a kid to get you on this ride.
This ride is so creepy in real life
But Still fun!
Not really
Lexi Brown ikr! when it went down super fast it slammed me toward then back and my spine hurts
Lexi Brown try calico mine train
Dude it’s just u
Whenever we go to Dollywood, I ride this coaster about 6 times in a row and it drives my parents insane
I'm guessing the lighting isn't usually that bright? Half of the ride is stuff you're not supposed to see.
Also Christmas lights not normally there too.
1996Coaster its usually alot darker.
cameras can see brighter than your eyes nowadays
1996Coaster no, it’s pitch black other then the fire part
correct they just do the lights at Christmas time.
To give a perspective of what it feels like, if you’ve ever ridden Splash Mountain at Disney, but in the dark.
Ellie how does this even compare to splash mountain, in the slightest
Ah.....so not to scary- hopefully
Then it sounds PERFECT.
@@kylehess7413 It used to have a splashdown but it got removed
The first time I rode this, I was seven and the drops scared me so much I came off the ride bawling my eyes out.
Im very afraid of roller coasters and decided to rode this because It seemed calmer than the rest. Needless to say the drop scared the crap out of me.
Same bro
The drops scared me too because they’re so sudden and the cart kept pulling me forward
I don’t like roller coasters either and my family tells me I’m not fun
I've ridden this more times than I can count. I love it!
I love this ride. The drops, the sound, EVERYTHING.
It's a silly ride, but it's my favorite. Rode it about 30 times. First time was close to 40 years ago. Can't believe it's still going. Looks a bit different than I remember. It's been a long time
This ride is everything! My kids and I love it! it’s just so weird and original and lovable!
A great classic ride ! This was opened in 1978, built in house by the maintenance crew. A treasure !
It’s just like Fire in the hole at silver dollar city that opened in 1972
When this thing dropped I felt like the bar came undone I freaked 😂
I had to pull my self back up with the bar xD. My Butt was hanging off the side of the coaster. Pretty scary
After going to Silver Dollar City and doing Marvel Cave and Fire in the Hole I really need to get back on Blazing Fury because now I know all the history around it
I go to Dollywood a lot considering the fact I live 3 hours away and this ride is one of my favorites!
That's my favorite ride there
I rode this a few months ago, the animatronic people have decayed so much they look like monsters out of my nightmares. This ride is more creepy than anything.
Ok the drops were honestly terrifying cause you can’t see
Exactly
2:36 This part scared me. Out of all the povs I’ve seen I’ve never seen that happen before
Something that I noticed about this ride is the more times that I go on it. I feel adjusted to the fact that I know where the drops are because if you have your first time going on this one or you haven’t been at this place in a long time, it can kind of affect like you get the goosebumps or butterflies in your stomach so yeah that’s how I felt
Recently went back to dollywood and rode this ride for the first time in years, I forgot how cool and fun it was! The drops were perfect! Had a good Breese to it, now my favorite ride there!
I feel like this is the quality Fire In The Hole at Silver Dollar City had when it was originally built. I love FITH but over the years so so much as been removed, not fixed, etc.
Wait a second... This is FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!!!!
That’s what I was thinking too!!
My papaw dawn made that ride
This ride has a really similar layout to Black Diamond at Knoebels Grove
I remember going on this ride I freak out had a panic attack and passed out
It's just like fire in the hole at Silver Dollar City in Stone County, Missouri! Only different.
Wish i could've ridden this back when I didn't have trouble getting around because of medical (joint and mobility) problems. Looks fun to ride !!! 😂
My first roller coaster. I was, like, 9 when I rode this. It scared the hell out of me. I'm 19 now, and I ADORE it.
I’m still terrified of it
@@gorillatagjosh3981 for my first roller coaster, it scared the hell out of me. The fact that you can't see the drops is what did it for me.
I remember when it had the splash pool at the end. Dunno why they removed it...
The loud noise at 3:19 always gets me!
Didn't there use to be a loud train horn?
@@randycunningham7318 Yes
I almost fell out of my seat in this one 😂😂
I’ve been on this roller coaster so many times with my dad this roller coaster is his favorite 😂
I first rode this in 1983… and that girl still hasn’t jumped off that porch roof.
When it drops it feel like falling out of your seat
Remember when I went with my mom and nana..... Old child hood memories😊
The smoke at the end always had me feeling some sort of way-
I road this when I was little with my dad and to this day he was wondering why I didn’t scream at all
The first 2 drops are the scariest of rides in dollywood
Omg the nostalgia this and the fire chaser were my favorite rides when I was younger
That train was my favorite part of the ride.
My favorite part is when the final drop happens and says FIRE IN THE HOLE
Old version of fire in the hole went like "FIRE IN THE HOLEEE"
I’ve been looking for this ride for years! Used to ride it when I was a kid but had no idea what the name was
I went here this week was a pretty fun ride
Beautiful old one! the broken bridge effect is top notch.
Just curious by how strange smell inside there...
Rode this today. A lot of people must love this for nostalgic reasons because this ride absolutely sucks 😂
I rode this today on vacation in Pigeon Forge Tennessee, and it was SOOOOO much fun! It was actually my FIRST time riding a roller coaster!
Was it bad?.. I'm terrified of roller coasters but this one don't look bad
It’s not too bad it’s actually a good coaster for starters except I rode fire in the hole and silver dollar city and it’s like blazing fury
I loved this and The Flooded Mine when I was a kid.
I went on this ride when I was like 6 or 7 and I hated it. Now, I love it!
I love this ride even though it's terrifying
Agreed
The first time I rode this ride, I was sitting in the seat with my brother's friends dad. Him, being quite wiser than me( I was about 11 or 12) I had to hold on to him because the single bar was way too big. Good times.
I remember having a really wierd experience on this ride once. My sister can stand and walk but not for long distances, as such she needs a scooter to get around parks and passes that let us skip lines. On this ride, though, once the current train left and they loaded us into the next one, they just...sent the train off without loading anyone else. It was just me, my sister, and her boyfriend on a train that could fit like 15 people...and there was a fully loaded line, too...
They should never change this ride. It is a classic. I am a little sad that they got rid of all the water within the ride years ago, but it was due to it causing mechanical issues so not much they can do. Still great!
I've road this before. It wasn't really like a roller coaster just a creepy dark ride.
Gracie Daye yeah it was mostly scary because I was a small child riding on it and felt like I was going to fall out haha
on the drop i was sitting in the front so it slammed me forward then back and hurt my spine ;c
I rode it yesterday, I like to call it the extinguished calm
I first rode this ride when I was 4-5yrs old and 6 months after being in a house, fire talk about ptsd don’t know what my parents were thinking lol💀
Same here! My house burnt in 99. I guess we went just afterwards but it was not a good experience for me. I was 5 or 6.
I’m so glad this is still open
I loveBlazing Fury ! I rode it 5 times on my vacation. I wish mor parks would concentrate on dark rides.
I love this ride! It was my first roller coaster (my first ride was last week). The drops make your heart feel like it's in your chest but 8 completely forgot about those good awful animatronics.......
I love this ride I used to ride it with my family 😊
I almost flied out my seat on this
This ride was so fun when I went, reminded me of a Disney ride.
I rode this back when I was about 5 or 6 yrs old . The park used to be called Silver dollar city before Dollywood . I'm 48 now so that tells ya how old that ride is
I just took my son on it last week. He is 5. It was his first coaster. He loved it. That's 3 generations of riders. Awesome.
It’s funny cause when I first rode this as a 4 or 5 year old I was so traumatized by it lol my innocent mind perceived the animatronics as being evil and malevolent 🤣🤣 but when I rode it again as a 12 year old I was like.... ummmmmm ok? What was I afraid of? Haha.
I miss this ride so much, hoping to go back this year or the next. I miss the old version of it, though. But also hoping to ride the Firechaser. :)
Haha I loved this so much I didn't expect the drop so I screamed lol
I remember riding this with my cousin when we were like 13ish. We saw it had no line and told the family we were gonna go ride the "little kid ride" just for fun. We were the only ones on it, and I swear, it was one of the most terrifying rides we had ever been on! Probably because we were anticipating a baby ride. We were also both fairly small, so when the drops came, we were clinging to each other, trying not to fly out of our seats!
whoa
The only rollercoaster in the world that’s most fun in the main back rather the main front
I cried when i rode this lol and bc my bum went off the seat and the animatronics scared the heck out of me
My cousin convinced me to ride it.
I've been there 3 time.and LOVE it....from Quebec,,,Canada
Fire In the Hole seems so much better.
looks a good themed coaster
i went on this and it was so fun
I remember my first time riding this ride. i was low key confused on whats happening because how dark it was
I loved this thing lol , mostly the animatronics.
the drop feels so much bigger than it looks
A co wroker of mine is from this area and I'm going there in a few weeks right after Thanksgiving and she says if I go to dollywood I have go on this ride
I luv the Blazing Fury.
coming out of one of the drops I got a pop of airtime that made me slam my back into the seat lol, so painful
Silver dollar city in branson has the same kind of a ride, different story line but same track layout. SdC calls their ride "Fire in the hole".
Feels like Mortimer's Mine at Tweetsie Railroad to me
This hit me like a bus when I got on I thought it was a kiddie ride I was wrong lol such a classic will ride again
It reminds me of fire in the hole from silver dollar city but without the baldknobbers.
This was one hell of a trip for my sensory issues when I first went on this- xD
This was my first ever rollercoaster
I could have sworn this used to have real fire on it. Mandela effect? Lol, Either way, as a six year old I was terrified.
Yes, it did have a house on fire in it.
It also had a burning bridge it's not really that much fun anymore :(
I remember when it used to be like a water ride and it will go faster but due to the local snakes in the area especially cottonmouth they will get in the water and end up stopping the ride because they will get caught underneath the wheels
I love Blazing Fury. My older sister was so scared so I was prepared for something crazy. It wasn’t intense at all. I actually loved it because it was so cheesy. I loved the Flooded Mine and wish they still had it.
