My mom was born in Canada, so we would go up in the summer, on a mini road trip through the White Mountains, to visit her family in a rural farming town in Quebec. Many of them were retired up there, and they were all so positive and happy all the time, never a frown or bad news to share, such good people, the best...it was a bunch of camps on a spring fed lake...it all reminded me of an elven village down in a valley, you know? The best memories! Anyways, one year, my dad was doing odd jobs for a chain of convenience stores, and so he had a chevy panel van to use for work (empty, no interior, just metal floors)...we were ok, we never starved, and had what we needed, but didn't have a lot of money, so no good car at that time...and so we took it that year...LOL. Picture going down the highway, everyone in the back sitting on those old aluminum lawn chairs with the crispy plastic plaid looking weave, lmao! Man we slid around like crazy several times, breaking hard for deer and stuff, and really got smashed up a bit lol, what a ride! Besides some bumps and bruises though, we were ok, we had a blast any way we could. Memories with my family man, good times! Speaking of which, back then there was NOTHING on road trips like that, lol...anyone else remember having to run to the tree line out on an interstate to pee or squat and poop real quick with people going by?! Back then I remember you would see like several cars stopped at about the same spot and people running back and forth to the cars from where they were leaving their deposits LOL! People tended to kind of stop near to each other...I guess it would hit people at about the same time on those roads to nowhere...
Ha! You feel for those folks when the urge hits and the only thing to be done about it is to pull over and let nature run it’s course. 😆 Great memories too. Thanks for sharing those! The van ride is now permanently stuck in my imagination. 😆
You've covered most of the bases but I'd like to throw The Legend of Billie Jean in as the cult classic with a kick a*s soundtrack :-) Keep up the awesome work!
I would have picked Planes, Trains, & Automobiles as the #1 pick! It was such a classic!
It’s a Thanksgiving favorite that definitely belongs on this list.
I'll tell ya ... #1 and #2 could have gone either way. My inner child won out
That's a great list, Jimmy! Love it! Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is always fun. 😀
Thank you, Bobbi!! Isn't this channel GREAT! I know you're going to LOVE the content :)

@@RetroDaze glad you enjoyed it. I would have wrote a lot more but without even saying very much, it was quickly becoming a novel!
@@chanelnumba_5 😄Well at least the memory is clear and detailed.
@@RetroDaze thank you sir!
The Wizard was a good pick! I agree with the list, in 89 it was all about the NES if you were a kid. 👍🏻🇺🇲
It was all about the NES in those days.
We agree!! Awesome :) NES was LIFE!
@@NostalgAK Your channel is also realy good, any videos coming soon?
@@ZMAN_420 Thank you so much!! Be on the lookout for a new Top 5 Masters of the Universe Moments to drop on Saturday, March 9 (my 45th Birthday ;)
I never thought about Rain Man from the perspective of a road trip movie. I need time to process this epiphany.
Ha! There are quite a few films with extended trip sequences that could potentially fit this list.
Happy to have shined a light on this aspect of it for ya!
Well, you have approval from *this* team member at least. Great picks and great video!
Alright, alright!!! That holds a lot of weight in my book. Much appreciated!
These videos are awesome! Thank you!
Thank YOU for checking them out!
You're awesome!
Never watched any of those but if I had to think of one off the top of my head, definitely has to be Sylvester Stallone’s “Over The Top”.
Nice pick!
Was in the Top 10 as I crafted the original list! You should definitely watch The Wizard with the family. I think it's right up your alley.
Great list! Great video!
It's not from the 80s but my favorite is It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world
That is a great film, perfect for the road trip theme.
Definite road trip classic
Awesome video! Californiaaaaa
Thanks for watching!
"I love the Power Glove. It's so bad." Thank you, Luke!
I like the lists! Would have added Back to The Future! I mean talk about a road trip thru time! Lol!
Where they were going, they didn’t need roads! 😆
You've got a solid point there 😃
PTA is the best vacation #2
I knew that #1 pick might be controversial ;) PTA could have easily been #1 too.

Oooh, nice choice. And the soundtrack was indeed great!
