Im on day 9, and i plan to go for 28 days. i gotta say that the worst part was the first seven days. But over the course of the 9 days ive been fasting, ive lost a lot of weight, my skin cleared up SO MUCH, and some of my scars literally disappeared. But i do have to do everything slowly bc i get tired quite easily if i do literally anything

So i ended up doing 21 days instead of 28.
The results were amazing but i wouldnt recommend it if you were a busy person. Bc the slightest things could get me tired and put of breath so easily like showering or just walking.
I fasted in summer so it was rlly hot but i was always cold bc i was only consuming water.
I ended up losing a little under 15kg/33lbs, i did notice that my clothes became more lose, i had really good skin, some scars disappeared completely and I felt great and stronger mentally.
I broke my 3 week fast with some soup, like veggie broth, bone broth etc.. and i reintroduced solid food abt 3 days later like a spoon of mashed potatoes. Soft food like that
Would i do this again? Yeah probably. This is actually the 3rd time ive done a prolonged fast. But just be careful. Bc shit could kill u if u do the wrong thing.

He definitely lost fat. He even said so when he mentioned ketosis. Maybe he timed his body fat test after his refeed meal. Itâs impossible to not burn fat when not eating.
He also contradicted himself. Ketosis is the process of using fat for energy, but said he is in starvation mode ? "Starvation Mode" is when your body has no fat or muscle to get energy from, so uses vital organs hence the term Starved to Death. Can tell from the video he didn't really have much of an idea what he was doing.

More likely the tests were inaccurate. Even DEXA scans are notoriously innacurate and I dont think he was using DEXA
The fact that he lost muscle and not fat means he was consuming something very sweet or high in fat, and low in protein. Also it's not recommended to take vitamins during a fast unless ultimately necessary. A little bit of salt water will help the headaches.
The reality is that the body composition tests are not accurate. He surely lost some amount of fat.

Just in this particular case of the video and the photos he presented in the end it is obvious that it's the work of some very good photography combined with photoshop effects. Notice how the shadows in the second image make him look more chiselled and you might see what I'm trying to point out. As for loosing weight is concerned I agree I look like a completely different person when I have a regular exercise routine.

These replies about resistance training is entirely wrong. He didnât fast long enough to have any problems. Secondly, you assume the body is entirely stupid. The body will not store fat all life-long and instantly target muscle as soon as energy is needed. Please, the body isnât that stupid. Thatâs like chopping fire wood all summer and then throwing your couch in the wood stove as soon as the temp drops under 60.
Edit: your measurements MUST be off. There is literally no way for you to gain fat without food intake. It is literally impossible for you to eat nothing and your fat composition goes up.
I agree. After a few days the body starts burning fat tissue as a main source of energy. The measurements are wrong probably because of the amount of water in the tissues before and after the fast. More reliable measurements would be made after couple of days of rehydrating and eating.

you literally physically possibly cant just create fat out of your ass. And 5kgs of muscle in 10 days is so off the charts, even if you did no resistance training. For reference, a beginner weightlifter who is consistent can MAYBE gain 5kgs of muscle in a year and thats because of noobie gains.

I did 3 or 4 days, years ago. It was very cold, I remember taking my winter clothes out of the box and just wearing them around the house. Chilling stuff. It was also unbelievably boring. TV didn't entertain as much without food, and neither did anything else, really. I believe we're all food addicted, because most of the time I'm not eating because I'm hungry, I'm eating because it's fun.

It you want to get leaner, count your calories and make sure that youâre in a calorie deficit. Donât eat junk foods, donât drink any sweat drinks. Cardio really helps, but a good diet is like 70% of weight loss.

I'm on day 5 of a 5-day water fast. I canât wait until tomorrow! I did my 5 day fast for a body reset. I've done a 7-day water fast before, and it was really challenging. Many water fasters will report that they felt very light and energized from around day 4-5. I never experienced that. What didn't help either was that I watched basically all episodes of Chef's Table on Netflix in a row đ. I finally broke my fast with some cucumber and avocado. And it was heavenly, lol!
This time around, it was easier. The first 3 days were pretty bearable actually, I still got to do some work. But on day 4, I couldn't function. All I did was lay on the couch and watch series. I don't even want to watch anything anymore, but it's a way to keep me occupied cause I don't have the energy to work. I'm also experiencing brain fog: yesterday, it took me 5 minutes to figure out what day it was...
This is the final day, and I feel more or less similar to yesterday. The end is near, though đ. I like what Matt of Yes Theory said about his water fast and seeking discomfort: _"You have to force yourself to lack things. Otherwise, you're just going to think everything is kinda normal, available and you're not gonna appreciate it."_
Doing this fast gave me a newfound appreciation for the good things in life, especially all the tasty delicious foods out there that sometimes I may take for granted. I'm a big proponent of slow living, and doing a 5 day water fast will surely slow you down. In that sense, it also has a spiritual component. We've been given this amazing body, and we need to nurture it to be able to function properly. But by overfeeding it, we're actually doing ourselves a disservice. A fast is a way to reset your body and give it time to heal. And it makes me appreciate that, without a healthy body, everything I want to do and put out there in the world, cannot happen.
I pray for the energy increase on my day 4-5 but I might reach minimum healthy weight then so I'll have to stop. Possible, but not likely though as I have 13 pounds of leeway.
Wow. Ive never even thought about going past 3 days, but today I found out ketosis starts around day 3 anyway.
The energy and clear headedness comes when your digestive system is completely empty. Most people will still be pooping a week after they haven't ate anything. And people will have hair, mucus and sometimes bubble gum stuck in their digestive system which takes about 2 weeks of not eating to get out. Something like 60% of people have hair and mucus stuck in their digestive system, it comes out many days after all the poop has passed through. Fasting this long also gets rid of parasites, radicals, bad cells, and et cetera.
I learned during fasting that most people are way over eating and eating for the wrong reasons. Food becomes toxic at abundance. Most people who fast go right back to the same eating habbits knowing they're eating even when they don't actually need to. For few, fasting will show them what real hunger is and they no longer eat for the illusion of reasons. And the most interesting thing I learned is that mass produced food has additives that act like drugs in the brain and how fruits stimulate the production of dopamine wich is very addictive.
Can you please tell me if you fast for 5 days and loose fat and muscle and then you break the fast and then start eating again, then after 5 days of eating how much weight you will gain ROUGHLY?
@@shubhamjain7671 I've done multiple water fasts. I always regained most if not all of the weight I lost pretty quickly after eating again. I wouldn't do a water fast for the goal of losing weight, but it can be a great way to reset your eating habits and switch to a healthier diet afterward.

I exercised like this everyday. Each day I went as long as I could

I am actually gonna fast this Wednesday. The purpose for the fast back then was to reverse my type 2 diabetes. My a1c was 16 in the hospital. I left the hospital 5 days later my a1c was 12. I had to beat it. 1 month of sticking and poking myself suxked. I took on average 80 unites if insulin a day.
But that was a year and half ago. I did feel alot better. I had clarity. My body and my mind felt so much better. I had more endurance and drive to do things.

Do NOT attempt this. It has long lasting damaging effects on your health. Including hair loss & damage, slow metabolism, painful stomach ulcers, increased risk of Alzheimer's and arthritis, bone atrophy, and depression. Even if you somehow avoided all of these things, you'd end up gaining more weight than you lost once you start eating again, so there is really zero reason to do it.
And if he'd actually properly prepared for the fast, he'd look and feel even better.

Fasting is the true natural way to repair the tons of problems or any issue you have in your body.
Pythagoras did a fasting of 40 days, and to enter in his school you needed to do a 40 days fasting. Why? Because blood just starts circulating SOOO MUCH better, this in result ler you focus better and have a more clear mind. You also clean your whole body completely of the impurity you have, we eat like fucking pigs, we don't mind what we eat and how the food REALLY affects your body.
You can literally resolve 90-95% of body issues with fasting.

Doing a 10 day water fast, rn on day 7, with some occasional tea, and honestly it has been pretty uneventful. Personally past day 1-2 I didn't even feel hunger anymore, but shit made me realize how much of hunger is mental. I am not physically hungry, but I want to eat.

On the 5th day of my diet i have lost 3.3 kg , having water with occasional Himalayan pink salt added . The first 2 days were he ll I would see food everywhere and was craving like all the time . Initially i thought I would quit it after the first day, than the next morning I woke up to see 400 g less that is what made me keep going . From the third day i saw more distinct weight loss . My first multi-day Euphoria came day 4, and many others have reported the same. Yet, many experience fast differently too. I myself have done quite a few and they are a little different. Socializing and exercise makes a difference. My first 4 day euphoria came while fasting with a big group and new friends and I hiked a mountain in Thailand. Day four yesterday was pretty decent, mind you I am doing black coffee and I had my 4 shot with friends and great conversation. Coffee, yes, I am going for autophagy, and fasting does this alone, but caffeinated coffee has two more mechanisms to induce the effect. Will it help decrease scare tissue from an injury where it is impeding my ability to walk ling distance? I am hoping so!

On day 2 of a water fast and yes, everything is exactly as you describe it. I did this once before for 9 days and had the same experience you did, including the family get-together with a blueberry cobbler I could smell for miles. Hoping to go to 10 this time.. it's so far awaaaaaay!

@@mcgullible5212 i dumb it down for you: the body uses sugar as its main energy source which is stored in the blood, in the liver and in the muscle.
when you stop eating carbs the body starts to use up the sugar first from the blood then the liver then the muscle and by that releasing water as each and every unit of sugar can withhold about 5 times as much water. so when an average person fasts for a week or so they lose about 4-6 kilos which is sugar + water and only after that they lose fat which is roughly 300 gramms a day if theres no other source. wrongly they say they lose muscle but not the muscle tissue itself they only lose some of the muscle mass which is the muscle + water + minerals + sugar...

How the whole society tries: reducing meals or making more small meals throughout the day
OR taking (supposedly) fat-burning stuffs.
An other stupid idea lowering one's calories intake more than necessary (making themselves famished and low on energy) and forcing themselves to do a lot of sports.

fk u Intermittent fasting is good, 16-48 hr fasts, several times a week, as a lifestyle. A 10 day fast is different, unless itâs a once in a lifetime type thing for spiritual reasons.

If you stop to think for a second he might have pooped during the first 3 days. The poo becoming less and less condensed and shaped as he ingestes water only as fast went on.
Also you Don't digest water the same way on an empty stomach it goes in and out... But the food stops going down cause your digestive system is on hold... Which means you must empty your intestines first or else you'll have digested food goo stagnating in it....

Onto day 6 of my water fast, heading to ten, already down from 85kg to 79kg, handling it so much better than I thought, itâs a very disciplined action and everyone around me thinks Iâm crazy for trying it.
