    I never knew that I was enthralled with the engineering processes until I came upon the HX50. It is probably the passion of the team at Hill Helicopters that is so contagious.

    Truly amazing if this engine will actually run !! Finally a BRAND NEW design or a Turbine for General Aviation, which is long overdue :) !

    I work at Rolls Royce processing blades. The work alone casting these is immense let alone the plating/aluminising /ceramic coating them. Have a word with your metologist about growing a single crystal for your blades. Good luck with the project

      Can you explain what a "Metologist" is? I am assuming it's not the same as a metallurgist?

    Nice work. I took A&P school and we had PT-6 and Allison 250 turbines we disassembled and reassembled. Very high standards are needed for design, materials and fabrication. Not sure where your bleed air is ported from?

    4:47 Are you at liberty to disclose the forecasted throughput of this machine? Or at least I was hoping you would mention how the deployment of this machine would impact full scale production e.g. enabling you to produce X number of turbines per day or per week or per month etc.

      Number of helicopters per year is a pretty good way to define throughput…
      Each copter gets one engine…
      Keeping the business barely alive will require a minimum of 100 copters each year…
      Defining each step of making each part on various machines is great if you are a machinist…
      Making money requires building 1k copters each year…
      Building a corporation will take a whole lot more…
      To buy a helicopter takes a lot of money…
      To buy a helicopter requires to have one for sale….
      Validating that a new helicopter engine is airworthy…
      Validating that a new helicopter is airworthy….
      Takes time, money, dedication… and partners…
      In the US, the FAA is quite the partner….
      Defining throughput… also requires customers to define their intent to pay for a helicopter… contracts and payment schedules…
      Hill Helicopters continues to make headway…
      Go Hill helicopters…!

      @@AC-jk8wq my question was strictly from an engineering/production curiosity viewpoint. I am genuinely ONLY interested in knowing what the production capacity of the machine is. For context I have been following the development of HX50 from the very first day Mischa (pilot yellow) first mentioned it on his channel so I am deeply intrigued by the intricacies of every aspect of the development process. I actually wish I could be there in person tbh.
