8:40: Good idea expanding that critical area

    don’t forget…
    while selecting the swirler geometry…
The final flow characteristics will depend, to some extent, on the final geometry of the gas generator itself… and the actual temp and pressure inside…
Unless the gas generator is going to be a long rectangular box… the flow patterns will be different where the magnitude and location of the impinging will occur.

    Go Hill Helicopters!

Have you considered putting a light sensor adjacent to the display? To automatically adjust brightness.

My idea for the vertical indicator is to use a zoom in and out arch with readings with changing colour to get a more accurate smooth representation

My other idea is to have a sliding tablet display were a pilot slide the display to one side when it becomes an obstruction to view 😅

So exiting! Do qualified buyers get a discount when purchasing 2 or more HX50’s ?

It's great that you are building new, I'm particularly fond of making a new engine and avionics. As for the interface design, I would recommend completely departing analog gauge legacy and take advantage of the simplicity and clarity that digital affords. If you want a movement indicator then a small flowing stripe field will do that well. Psychologically similar to having an elevation pole nearby that you can see the movement on. A gauge hand you have to intellectually correlate to the scale first. Stripe flow you immediately understand even in the peripheral vision.
The first motorized car looked like a horse drawn carriage just without the horse when it should have looked more like a Tesla. Never hold on to legacy.
Another argument for the simplicity of digital is to not clutter the most important use of the display, the synthetic vision. In zero visibility the display is your entire window. Imagine if the entire windshield was cluttered with analog gauges for no reason other than legacy convention. The synthetic vision has to be the all dominant use of the display and its significance as your view to the world cannot be overstated. Kobe Bryant died because that helicopter had no synthetic vision. Many crashes are because the aircraft had no synthetic vision or it was too small and cluttered.
If you haven't tackled the synthetic vision yet I happen to be a computer scientist with geospatial background and have given thought to how to source quality terrain data and manage and sensibly compress the large dataset and present it in quality appearance with modest graphics power. I would be available to consult on that if that would be helpful. It's quite possible to produce a terrain in vastly better quality than the rather crude standard employed by garmin, honeywell etc. Quality similar to the simulator terrain you have on the back screen for the entire world.
I also have some familiarity with FAA requirements for synthetic vision.
