An open letter to Samsung A Very interesting developement: I saved up for a while and bought a Galaxy watch 4 Classic, hacked the software so that ECG and BP were enabled. on 3 occasions the watch gave me an Atrial fibrilation reading. Due to the number of readings, I decided to follow-up.( I was subsequently, diagnosed with cancer and went in for surgery, I mentioned the A-Fib to my doc and on the table My heart went into A-Fib in hospital. My doc was very impressed and said that there was a good chance that the watch saved my life as the first sign of A-fib is often when you have a stroke. An official, public "Thank you" to Samsung. It may not be a "diagnostic tool" but an awesome powerful watch.
I bought the Galaxy watch classic because it has Wear OS. When the first Galaxy watch came out I didn't like it because it was Samsung I didn't have a Samsung, not even the Galaxy phone. But recently I bought the Galaxy 21 ultra and been loving it ever since so I thought what watch would go well with it, that would be the Galaxy watch 4 classic. At first I bought a Fossil watch the newest one but the first day it froze on me that very upset with it. So I went to Samsung and I bought the watch the Galaxy watch. I enjoy it every day it's smooth and has never let me down ever since I have it.

I love that Samsung got rid of tizen on their smartphones however I am still 50/50 even right now on them removing tizen from their watches. Where I believe their phone portion was subparate best under baked and very childish in appearance I felt the exact opposite when it comes to this operating system on their watches. And if you want my true opinion nothing has really changed for the better... We still don't get Android apps on our phone like we did on the Moto 360 and other Android watches alike... Took almost 6 months for us to get the OK Google feature.. and now we are stricken with the usual bugs and glitches that wear OS continuously brings to the table. Yes wear OS has improved dramatically since it's early days but in my opinion it's still not ready to be placed on a Samsung watch. I'm not even going to get started on the countless amount of watch faces I have lost because they are not compatible with wear OS. Overall I am satisfied but when it comes to a purchase that cost this much one should not be just satisfied
Wear OS with open arms!!! I had a couple previous Tizen Watches (the Gear S2 Classic and the Gear S3 Frontier) and tho I loved the hardware well above most of the Android Wear/Wear OS watches, I simply couldnt get past the utter lack of even basic apps for Tizen. And I had more AndWear/WearOS watches than a person should, with some really good ones for the time they came out (Urbane, Huawei original) but the past few watches I had (Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle, Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 2020) were good at the time, but once I got my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm - I can easily say the GW4 Classic is the unquestionable winner of BEST WATCH EVER in the history of SmartWatches, hands down!!!! There is no competition that even comes close. The new TicWatch unfortunately has gone with a cheaper screen like the Fossils that is not even edge to edge, and has a useless, unsightly black ring around the screen. Its awful and cheap looking and Mobvoi for some inexplicable reason will not even include a rotating crown. So I refuse to buy anymore of their watches. The LCD display while cool is little more than a gimmick and doesnt offer anything significantly different from the extended battery mode on GW and other brands that boot into a “time only and steps tracking” mode. The new Fossils still use that terrible ring around the screen (think the regular GW4 - but that;s a touch bezel around it - it serves zero purpose but to look awful when any watch face than a black background is used. Cheap and ugly. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is so good that I wonder what Samsung could possibly do better for a GW5? The GW4 Classic is IMO absolute PERFECTION. The rotating bezel is not only functional and cool, it also offers a degree of protection to the screen and if you find yourself bumping your watch from time to time - I try to be careful but still manage to knock into something now and then - and the bezel has saved my screen everytime! The ability to add decorative personalization like the RINGKE is an amazing option and I too added a metal clasping band. No better watch, and the couple differences to Tizen’s layout and Wear OS are ones I either prefer after using or have gotten used to (Notifications on the left and not being able to turn wrist to see them is the biggest drawback/only real critique I have). Battery life is better than ANY Wear OS - I easily get a day and the next work day before its got to charge and that’s with Always On Display!) - the only Wear OS watch that beats it is the TicWatch which is noticeably bigger and has far less functionality (no rotating bezel, not even a lousy rotating crown!). The only thing still waiting on is Google Assistant tho Bixby is a lot better than Bix/SVoice on previous Samsungs so give it a chance and tho not perfect, its more than acceptable and even Google Assistant didnt work on my Fossil the last year I had it, even after multiple factory resets, updates etc.It truly is a spectacular watch, useful, RELIABLE, and amazingly rich in features. It only gets better as time and updates continue, and Googl Assistant is to be released soon as well according to updates. LOVE LOVE LOVE this watch and cant say enough excellent things about it!!!! :-) :-) :-) Very Happy Owner of GW4 Classic 46mm Silver

Yeah, sorry for the super long post but LOVE my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. And wanted to clear up something I apparently was confusing about - I think the Galaxy Watch Classic is WAYYYYY better looking than most of the Fossils - I had the Gen5 Carlyle but I think my SIlver GW4 Classic 46mm just cant be beat in the looks department! And I like the looks of the regular Galaxy Watches as well, I was meaning the touch bezel around the non-classic serves a purpose while on the Fossils (and latest TicWatch) you have the dead space around the screen that serves no purpose whatsoever than to look cheap and be ugly with non-black watch faces. And the ability to customize the bezel on the Galaxy Watches with Ringke’s, etc is awesomely cool (I like your knurled bezel add on, I had the silver tachyometer and now rocking the black tachyometer band, looks AMAZING!). :-)
is it wise to sell my fenix 7x SS and a fraction of its money to buy gw4c? i love how garmin collect endless fitness data on all my activites, sensor accuracy, multiband GPS and superb battery life but the convenience of google wear..calling features..samsung pay (as garmin pay not available yet in my country), and seemless integration with my s22 ultra really tempt me..or wait for gw5 instead? yes i know im comparing multisport GPS watch to a typical smartwatch but i love both worlds

Went to Verizon to upgrade and get this watch. When they told me I had to get the lte version because they didn't offer the Bluetooth I knew I didn't want that. I tried it with the frontier and never really had a need for the lte
Galaxy watch 4 hurts really bad on my wrist in less than 5 minutes after wearing due to the extra bumpy bottom I never had any problems with my s3 as it if flat bottom. Hoping samsung would change it with s5 🙏🙏
Samsung Pay is useless, they don't support my bank. Plus like you, I always have my phone with me, so don't care about paying for things with my watch. Plus using your watch means locking your watch, which means unlocking it everytime you put it on - which is annoying (especially on the 42"). Why not just unlock if you want to pay for something? The big question is, why can't we assign the long press action to something actually useful?
Aha agree buddy! Little tip for you, take a look at curve card, it's a digital card that let's you load all your other cards onto it, you can add your curve card to Google pay, so should be able to able to get the banks that don't work with Google pay working
I presently have the Galaxy Watch LTE version, not because it serves any real purpose, but it came as a discount when my wife upgraded her phone at the carrier retail store. I really need to upgrade my Tizen quickly as, I no longer receive calls on it, and besides all of that, Samsung has really great trade in deals that are hard to ignore.
Just got my 4 classic 46mm Bluetooth, any advice on how do i prevent mine from sucking the battery? It doesn't last 24hrs without charge and it's brand new. I haven't been doing much to nothing on it

My MAJOR gripe with the GW4 is the band width on the 46mm version. 20mm? really? smh samsung. So none of my old bands fit and they look too slim with the big face.
I bought the LTE Versionm because i have heart problems, but the Main point i was looking for, dont work! SMS sending don´t work. Before the watch 4 i had a 100 Euro full android IP68 watch with sim. that was in all terms better than the watch 4, except the heartrate monitor. I´m kind of disappointed! for such an expensive tech gadget, you really don´t get that much. No real standalone device, my android watch was totally standalone and compfortable, i bought the watch 4 because the speaker on my old watch broke.the Rollme S08 had at least 10 days battery life in watch only mode and full Playstore compatibility, ceramic body and a powerbank, and a camera, who nobody needs ;-) Pretty sure that this samsung watch, was my first and my last one. I wanted a device that i can wear, without a phone neede.. but thats not what i got!
