- It’s always great to get a wave from happy Pilots, we get them whenever we’re close-by the action like here at Manchester or the Polderbaan at Schiphol.
Here, Swiss International Air Lines A220 HB-JCT and Qatar Airways 773 A7-BEE Pilots, acknowledge the crowds on the South Bank at Manchester Airport - probably one of the best spots in the UK to get a Pilot wave due to the close proximity of the runway.
We had a few more during the show, but these two guys get the ‘cool’ vote, plus the spools are awesome too 👍🏻 😉

@@user-ky6vw5up9m Not that much to be honest. I as an FO get an average rate of about 70€/h (per diem + duty pay included without overtime) and the captain about 120€/h of flight time. With 140 seats filled with rev pax (full fare), we get 1.3€/h/pax (rough estimation, but I don't think I am far off).
Now, if you raise the salary by 10€/flight hour for FO and 20€ for Cpt, it should theoretically only go up to 1.5€/h/pax. But for us it now makes a big difference as now I'm roughly earning about 6500€ before tax instead of 5500€ per month (although per diems aren't taxed, they don't contribute much to our salary).

It's always nice getting interaction from the flight crews, I always liked after pulling the gear pin and flag talking to the flight crew on my headset then getting the thumbs up from the cockpit windscreen when I showed it from the ground.
