MARCH 20, 2022: Beverley Manley-Duncan, the ex-wife of former Prime Minister Michael Manley, has weighed in on the controversy over the proposed $2000 banknote bearing the images of Manley and another former prime minister, Edward Seaga. According to Mrs Manley-Duncan, Manley would believe that the gesture is not authentic. "He would be nauseated", she said.

Putting Seaga and Manley on a note together would be equivalent of putting Mitzi and Seaga"s widow faces in the same portrait or Princess Diana and Camellia on the same souvenir cups.

It has nothing to do with bitterness. I strongly agree with Beverley Manley. The powers that be should have consulted the families first or, at least, know the true history of the Manley/Seaga relations before declaring that dollar bill. Sure, Jamaica needs to be united... but that's not how you go about it.

Some our children cannot read and write after leaving high school. Our nurses, teachers, firemen, police officers and other critical civil servants cannot get decent salaries and there is a host of other social, family and economical issues across the country. Yet all our so called leaders are complaining about is who is on a currency? How petty and small minded can our leaders be. This is why our country is where it is today after over 50 years. Who cares who is on what and this and that, we have bigger issues to put our energies and focus.

In my opinion Michael Manley stands alone , he was the only good prime Minister Jamaica ever had. He wanted more for Jamaicans citizens, wasn't lining is pocket.
The way he set to get more for ordinary Jamaicans was flawed, he couldn't unite the two Jamaica that exists at the time , you need an economy to pay for everything and the backbone of the economy, was asked to take one of the five flights a day that was available to Miami.

I born and grow up in Jamaica 🇯🇲 my parents was not into politics we never talk politics we don't take sides...I am very natural jamaican...I am aware of the violence and crime and killing as I travel to school and go about my every day business in the 1980 ...and we were kinda poor...I remember when the dollar was five dollars to one USA dollar....as I listened and learn and understand the politics of Jamaica I come to the conclusion that is mr.manley mash up Jamaica with the borrowing of money from the international bank and cannot pay it back...therefore is the devaluation of the dollar mash up Jamaica...the money is just pure paper I get totally confused when I go visit ...but me love ❤ me country

The question is why didn’t the government of Jamaica noted it or petition the wife or ex-wife of the man posted on the $2000 note, and asked for her opinion. If F soul did not like each other here on present earth, then souls are not with each other on the other side. It is kind of disrespectful to have both these gentlemen on one particular note, and together as unity. There was nothing unity about their political thoughts. The ex-wife I think should petition the government to ward either give her husband the proper notification of the $2000 bill, and put the second gentleman on a different note.
