  • I have had plenty of request for this one. How does the Legato stack up on our ever growing list? Is it a Pro V1 Killer? Can it at least hang with most of the other D2C crowd?

    Switched from Pro V1 to Vice Pro Plus. Switched form Vice Pro Plus to Legato LTX 3085. Legato is significantly better than either Pro V1 or Vice Pro Plus. Longer and straighter than either of those other two balls.

    Great review. I bought a dozen after seeing Gabe’s review awhile back. I like the low launch and had the same results with feel as you did. What really sold me originally was the price on Amazon prime.

    Great review!!!👍 I haven’t had a chance to play mine yet, tomorrow, so very excited as I need that spin for around these fast summer greens.
    Also, these appear to go on sale during the big Amazon days as I purchased them for $24 a dozen. I’ll see if I need to stock up after my round.😊

    I’m going to try a dozen and see if they are as straight as my Srixon Soft Feel balls. The Srixon and my STZ 220 Driver are amazingly straight! I do need something better around the green. This ball may work well, worth a try!

    Hey this is the first time ever commenting on the channel I have been binge watching tons of videos. I find learning about golf balls interesting. I did have a question. I recently tried the Wilson zip which was 2nd on your top 100 list. I loved the ball it was great for a high handicapper like me. I got them on Amazon 24 for like 29.99. I looked ok Wilson website to see if they would have better deals and looks to me like they do not advertise them anymore. When I looked at the value balls section it showed a new ultra line for 2024. Would love to see a review of the new Wilson products and keep up the good work. Kinda sad to see them not continue the zip. Sorry for the long message.

      @GolfBallAddict  Před 18 dny

      No problem for the long message. Thank you so much for commenting and providing your feedback to help the channel grow.
      I'm stuck in a weird spot with the Wilson zip. My fear is that they discontinued it. I wish Wilson would stop coming out with so many different models of their two-piece lines. I think they have like seven or eight right now, it's like a zip is by far the best one I've tested.
      If that is the case and they do end up discontinuing them permanently, I will do my best to test the rest of the lineup and find the most comparable golf ball

One round my playing partner and I played and we are making it one of the 2 or 3 balls we play constantly. Performed fantastic in all facets for us. Thanks for the great review! P.S. I think these will gain more popularity, unfortunately that tends to lead to price increases. I love them and have been playing them for 7 months. I'd put them up against any 3 piece urethane out there. Great review as always. Keep up the good work.

    I've played Legato balls for a couple of years. For about the first sixth months at their website they ran a BOGO free from their website. Occasionally from their website they will run that same offer. I think about the time you were recording this they were running a BOGO free at their website as a Father's Day promotion (ran it for about a week) and I was able to get four dozen including shipping directly from their website for $92.

    • @JB-bs9ji
      @JB-bs9ji Před 16 dny +1

      One more note -- they run a program at the Legato site called the 'Dryve Program'. If you have a son/daughter playing in a competitive golf program (they list what they consider those to be, but the most inclusive one would be a youth in a First Tee program) then you can sign them up with proof of enrollment in the program and they will receive a free dozen Legato balls each monthy until they turn 18. And I might sound like I'm a representative of them but I'm not, LOL. Just really love their product.

      This is really good information. Thank you so much for taking the time to share it.
      I think that's awesome what legato is doing then. It's a great marketing technique but more than that it's just a great morally thing to do for golf

  • @jlnew10
    @jlnew10 Před 8 dny +1

    I'll comment the same as I did on Let's play Through. It's not a golf ball test unless you've also checked balance and consistency of golf balls. Sure it's $25 and spins great but if half the box is lopsided they're going to be a problem. I mean take a page out of My Golf Spy and the testing they do. It almost ruined Callaway's golf ball market when they exposed how off they were. Now Callaway X-rays their balls and you'd be hard pressed to find a ball that's not perfectly balanced from them. I worry less about 200 revs of spin and more about a ball that's heavier on one side missing just left of the cup from 10 feet. Golf is hard enough.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  Před 8 dny +1

      So I definitely don't disagree with this comment. It makes complete sense. However here's the thing, I don't have a budget or the resources to buy a full dozen golf balls every time I review one. Most the time I either buy a sleeve or sometimes I even just get a single ball. If that's the case, me doing the balance test really wouldn't do much.

      @@GolfBallAddict I've gotten them for as low as $19.99 from amazon (with a one dozen limit, although was able to get one dozen white and one dozen yellow). Usually only occurs on some of amazon's big savings days, so it's worth watching what they sell for during prime days during July.

  • @shakes2966
    @shakes2966 Před 16 dny +1

    Because you're chipping on/to a mat, would that influence the spin at all than chipping on to grass? I would think landing the ball on a mat would make the ball spring and skid a little more. Just a thought.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  Před 16 dny +1

      This is a good observation.
      The truth is, with an artificial mat you'll never get the same type of checkup as you would on grass. When I am chipping on to the artificial grass, I'm looking for how the ball reacts once it hits the turf. That's how I gauge how much spin and has.
      Now don't get me wrong, there are golf balls that legit spin on that mat. However for the two piece models I always try to hit a cut or I try to close the face a little bit to see if the ball will bounce left or right. That's another good way to tell spin

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  Před 9 dny

      Tacky is not a bad thing. Nothing better than when a golf ball comes out feeling real sticky. Grips the green like you wouldn't believe! 😃🤯

      @frankstew1199 Před 9 dny +1

      Forget the tacky comment I made. These balls performed really good. I just got back from playing 18 with this ball. Shot 80 off 15 handicap. But the thing that amazed me was how much they reminded me of the ProV1’s I played like 8 years ago when I was single digit. Great distance, green side spin, and durability just like your review indicated. Will be my go to for the rest of the season.

    Did you share where this ball would fall on your ranking list?

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  Před 16 dny +1

      No not yet. I've taken a break from adding golf balls to the list until I get a few more reviewed.
      We just ran into an issue where because of the increased swing speed I now have, 92 to 97 mph, a lot of the golf balls we were testing this year were making it into the top 10 and top five. So just for the sake of collection pool, I'll probably do two updates. One halfway through the season and one at the end of it

    I got some of these balls in off season to play this year and I’ve been impressed … for the price on Amazon of around $25 to $29 with sales for average golfers to slightly better golfers. It is a great value ball…. Good feel around greens good spin i’ve always played top flight gamer or chrome soft and E 6 Bridgestone balls …. I don’t use hybrid 3 -5 -7 woods great sticking to greens with low roll out unless you hit hit thin 🫣😂 🏌🏻‍♂️⛳️

    How did you get only 7.5 yards difference between your carry and total on your driver? I usually see about 20-25 yards difference.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  Před 26 dny +1

      High launch in higher span will do that. To get 20 yards roll you have to be hitting the ball extremely low with a lot of topspin. I'm not that great of a player yet.
