The review was entertaining. The Callaway Super Soft Matte finish in my opinion is a bit too gimmicky. I find an abundance of these in the semi and heavy rough so it seems they are not easier to see. The ones I find the finish is sort of two tone, worn out I expect but of course it shouldn't change colour. Super soft off driver with the correct swing speed offer very good distance. However off the scoring irons they offer very little spin/control. They bounce high on the greens. The ball I play is expensive but offers me what I want/need, it isn't a Callaway Super soft.
Some valid points but I have to disagree that they are found in the rough due to poor performance. I think many newer players are attracted to colourful balls as they look fun. They are often higher hcp players who lose more balls. As they get better they will change to better white balls like Taylormade Etc.
I wouldn’t play with any ball that has been sat outside for months and losing colour. Even prov1 would play sh@t after several months in the rough. But I appreciate your comments and your point of view.
I definitely prefer the red coloured ones as they are easier to see and find, especially when the sun is low and the light is glaring off the fairways
