@@Williamsmith-ne3vh hi william… you will definitely hear loud noises like road work or thunderstorms… and you will also hear rain hitting your roof… some folks run the AC all the time to drown out campground noises.
Thanks for watching!

The keystone one I believe the 3rd one shown. Sleeps 5
Even blogger, is it cheaper for a camper or fixing up my car to live in?

Small campers aren't just "for beginners". Some of us don't want a McMansion on wheels to keep up with the Joneses.
Hey James,
You're right! We try to make our channel newbie / beginner friendly, we use that phrase a lot. Trust me we wouldn't get a McMansion on wheels either LOL

We have been looking at what works best for us in small travel trailers for over a year. We have settled on the Rove Lite 14 FD as we know someone that bought the FL model towing it with their 2015 Toyota Four Runner getting around 18 mpg below 65 mph. This was one of the big factors in buying a travel trailer as we planned on towing ours with our 2014 Tacoma 4x4 four door pickup with a cap over the pickup bed. We liked the bed/dinette in the front and the shower/toilet in the back as we put a real mattress full time in that area. We bought a small collapsible table to eat at the couch. It works for us best this way. With the trailer loaded up and the pickup loaded with two more propane tanks, folding barbecue, 30 by 58 inch folding table, two comfortable camp chairs and a plastic storage box with goodies, we have everything we need for several week cruise. We have only done one 2 1/2 week trip thus far but every thing worked out great. We live in the Lake Tahoe area and have to wait for June to travel again but have made many planned trips in the future. The only thing I had to buy that didn't come with it was a spare tire for the trailer which also is stored in the pickup bed.
We have a "mcmansion" but we are fulltimers. We started in a small camper and when we went fulltime we knew we needed the room. We loved our little weekend and vacation camper but I won't give up my king-size bed, bath and a half or washer and dryer.
Agreed, yet many of them cost as much as a McMansion, of so it seems.
@@mlcoffey2 Wow 🤩 what make and model did you get for full time use
I learned about the KZ 130RBSE on this channel several years ago. After looking at one in person, I decided it was the perfect trailer to tow behind my Jeep Wrangler on 3-5 day trips, so I bought one. I'm 6'2, so anything with a short RV length bed is too small. At 82", the KZ is more than long enough. I can also stand up in the shower if I keep my head in the roof vent area, which has worked out perfectly for me. Mine has the propane/120 volt absorption refrigerator, which does have a freezer compartment that will freeze my water bottles solid. The one in the video either had a 120 volt only refrigerator, or possible a 12 volt compressor model. Mine is a 2020 and a 120 volt only refrigerator was standard. I like the overhead microwave, which is a new feature. I have a small microwave I put on the counter. When traveling, I throw it on the bed. This trailer has storage galore, which I've never managed to fill up yet. For short trips, the KZ is perfect and can be towed with any vehicle that has a 3500 lb tow capacity or more.

Damn… very very very informative thx 🙏
I think I’m leaning more towards the first one, it’s just me and the wife and an adult special needs daughter, so we don’t really need the bunk beds, definitely don’t want the one with the toilet in the shower, plus I’m really trying to go as small as I can, used to have large travel trailers ( 24’ a 26’ and a 34’) when the kids were little, don’t need that much now. Thanks for the reviews and keep up the good work
Thank you John! I'm with you there on the wet bath. Not for me! Good luck in your search. Hope we help you find one! Thanks for watching and commenting.

Exactly
All these small campers should have is a queen bed, a toilet and shower, and a kitchen. No dinette, so extra beds, so sofas... I think a decent sized refrigerator is a must. If you have extra room then I would do a computer desk. With the prices they charge now a days they should have a minimum of 500w of solar panels and a minimum of a 5KW battery (doubling both would be even better). Have all the appliances and heaters be electric then too. Taking out the dinette they always want to include gives you so much more space for a larger shower and a larger refrigerator. A small washing machine and spin dryer for cleaning cloths is also nice. They make small portable ones for RVs that work great. Then hang them up to dry them the rest of the way. A good awning is also a must... good. I think they should have the option of mosquito netting to close them in and LED lighting. I think the steps should have a shoe brush on the side of the first step too.
Sounds like you've added quite a bit of "extras" to your remodified camper, but I like the idea. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting!
Thanks! This episode made me want to subscribe. Family of 4 looking for compact travel trailer…didn’t even realize bunks existed in such a small spaces. 😝

One of those small campers would be a massive upgrade for us as we do everything out of my F-150. I most liked the puma.
My favorite camper is the last one. I ´m a single person and will remain. At the most we ´d be two but not more. I ´m not rich but i wish to feel home wherever i ´d go and not to depend on anybody. I
´m in Canada and i would luv to see more like these. There s’ probably a few mistake in my writing but i don’t have multilanguages on my ipad

I like the KZ Sportsman Classic floor plan as well as how light it is. The bathroom space seemed nice too. One thing I prefer is having the door as far away from the bed as possible.

Winnebago Hike- We're a family of 4 with two young adults. So the larger bunks would sleep the family more comfortably. The bathroom is simple and has everything for a quick easy getaway weekend! Thank you for being so thorough in your video content. It's appreciated!
So glad you found it helpful! Thank you for the kind words and watching our tours.
We’ve got a 17ft coachman, full bathroom, walk around queen bed and a small booth to sit and typical two burner stove fridge and microwave.we lov it because we can get into a lot of boondocking areas we’re big rvs can’t. Plus it tows like a dream
Hi Randall,
That sounds awesome!
Thanks for sharing!

My favorite was the Winnebago. I would keep the dinette up all the time and use the bunk for my sleeping. The other bunk I would use for storage. But that’s for a party of 1

I would like to see 12 volt fridges and either a cassette or composting toilet in a small camper. Also would like either twin beds or a bed that does not sleep across the trailer so you don’t have to climb over someone to go to the bathroom or to get up before the other person. I know that might be difficult for lack of room in these, but hate that setup!

the second is probably my favourite - like how the sofa bed is right by the door so you can sit down and relax or put stuff down if you are carrying straight away and the tv is nicely placed for the sofa bed i reckon, has a more open feel design to it and you can easily add some stools for extra people at dining area
Hey Audreaya,

Here is my situation, I own a sedan, and I am looking to trade my car for a used truck and get me a small light travel camper, I want to make this whole package as affordable as possible. My intentions are to travel and move around during the fall before winter. I know nothing about RVs. So I am trying to get informed. Glad I found you guys, will research your website and some of your articles.
Hi Mayimbe,
Drive to the warm weather in the winter and the cool weather in the summer!
Glad you like the videos and hope you enjoy our website too!

I went with a RoveLite 14FD for the super light weight and the one piece manufacturing for fewer leak decay issues . Also liked the no wood construction. It tows nicely. Does ride a bit low so you need to pay attention. I am very happy with it and it's super tiny bathroom which works for me I wipe it down and place a mat on the floor after my shower. Thanks for your information. I watched a number of your videos before I picked mine.

I loved how the AC unit was above the bed in the first one. Second one has an excellent layout. Great counter space, open floor etc
Hi Super Man,
Great screen name!
Well Mike & Susan, I think this along with your other videos are just great. I love the fact that if someone follows your blogs, you cover everything from beginner to experienced, from basic couple trailers up to 5th wheel and class C, something for everyone. This gives me some good ideas for trailers with a bathroom "which my wife will appreciate" that I can pull with my Nissan Frontier. Don't let the haters get you down, I think you try to include All Types of campers with All Types of budgets. Keep up the good work, it gives me something to look forward to during winter mixed with a little covid.

I have a question for anyone who wants to answer it for me. Do people actually worry about having a TV in these little trailers? And do they worry about where it gets mounted and who can watch it easily etc? I just never thought of watching TV while camping. I honestly thought one of the reasons for going camping was to get away from things like TV and internet and all that sort of stuff.
It depends. If you are going CAMPING, agreed. If you consider it your moving hotel room because you don't want to keep unpacking on a long trip, visiting different people in different states... then it's nice to have it be more like home. If I was going to travel for a month, I'd like to watch some things - although a DVD player would be fine for me.
If i got a camper i intend to live in it .
Hey Prepperjon,
Good question! Some people's campers are for camping, they can also be used for everyday living, or vacationing. We can definitely see why some would and some wouldn't want a tv.

I'd highly suggest people look into the Keystone Passport SL 199ml. Dry it's around 4,200 lbs. Pretty small camper at just under 23 feet long. Totally can be towed by an suv or halfton truck with ease. Has a bathroom with a door for privacy. Shower tub combo. Tub is good for a kid. Storage in bathroom. Fold down queen size bed with clothing closets on both sides of the bed. U shaped dinette that slides out (this is the only slide out the camper has). Can be converted into another bed for guests or children. Pretty big country style metal sink with detachable sprayer faucet. 5 windows, 3 skylights 1 with a fan in the bathroom. 32inch flat screen TV with shelving underneath. Domestic fridge and freezer. Furrion oven with 3 burner stove top. Inside and outside speakers. Highpoint microwave. Front pass-through storage. Outside shower. Electric jack and stabilizers so nothing has to be cranked manually. It's a great camper for a couple or for people that don't want to go big or are limited by their tow vehicle but still want to get a lot of features packed into their camper design and layout. Never once had an issue with that camper as wife is a travel nurse and we used it a ton. But now that we have a 3 year old and 2 dogs I need ny recliners to relax and she needs her space lol so we upgraded to a Keystone Outback 328rl with dark brown leather seating. It's amazing. Huge difference though. Going from 22 feet to 38 feet in length and basically doubled the weight. Buy I highly recommend people look into the Keystone Passport lineup for small campers.
is it good for swinging?

So glad you liked the Winnebago Hike 172BH. Winnebago have some awesome floor plans for everyone! Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting!
First thing I did was subscribe to the monthly magazine which appeared in my email in about 2.7 seconds lol and I took a quick look through it before downloading it so I can read it while not connected to the internet. But from what I saw it looks like a real good issue and I look forward to reading it later this week. I also made certain to give this video a thumbs up, I’m already a subscriber to the channel and I’ve left 3 comments (including this one) so far all good of course lol.
Cheers

The KZ Sportsman Classic and the Winnebago Hike are my two faves. I would love to see both of them in person. The KZ would be easier on my SUV for towing; the Winnebago would be easier on me for space and comfort.

Good 👍 job. The KZ Sportsman Classic 130RB seems like everything im looking for. Most were just to heavy for my mide size 04 Chevy Colorado. Sadly I have the 5 cylinder engine. I'll rent one and try it out before we get anything. Thanks so much

Catalina summit series- not listed, but better than all these. Cheaper& larger fridge and an outside skillet. They killed it- $21k
Edit- outside skillet also has a cube fridge and a cabinet. With everything combined I paid $23…. And they have since gone up a little.
Plus no carpet, nice lighter off white cabinets. Shower isn’t awesome, but we use the showers on site.

Loved the KZ!
The KZs are pretty nice but I fear their quality may have diminished over the past couple of years.
Thanks for watching!

They all looked so great! But in terms of the dinette, I would probably want some counter space to put a dish drainer.

I really love the first one but it’s my style I rewatched it and it only seems like it had a full size bed. I need one that sleeps 3. Darn it!
A third person can sleep on the bench, it’s not the biggest but it’s doable
Most travel trailers have a sofa that will jack knife or a dinette that can be converted to a bed. Thanks for watching and commenting. Best of luck to you.
Palomino puma for me. I like the bed and storage under it.
Love the floor plan of the Puma! Has all the important features under 4,000lbs GVWR and no slide out!!! Thanks for watching our RV tour and commenting HotrodVeysey!
The prices for these are a bit ridiculous. They want $19,600 for that 1st tiny trailer, with NO freezer or room for small T.V.?!? Yeah, I think not. I paid $9,500 for my slightly used 29ft travel trailer. Going much smaller for my next one, though. I'd rather find an older, slightly used camper & make it completely solar. My plan is to do this in the next two years, as house prices are just out of control & it's just me & my dog. I've lived in "mobile" homes my whole life & love the minimalism. Not to mention I can just pick up & go wherever & whenever I want👍❤😎🐾 Thanks for the tours though

Winnebago is the best quality. Dual axle trailer = easy tow and less tongue weight. I like the first for pricing and what is included in the camper.
The KZ Sportsmen Classic 130RB is a great floor plan! Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting.
I love it when they say these tiny campers can sleep 4 people, unless there small children or Herve Villechaize good luck.
Hey Joseph,
LOL it's DOable, maybe just not the MOST comfortable sleeping experience for tall people 😬

I liked the Palomino Puma, just the layout appealed to me. I also thought that it sounded like the bunks were sturdier than in the Winnebago. I also liked the headboard and tv locations. I might also make the joke about it being bigger than my current apartment. 😆😆
The Puma is a great camper floor plan with all the important features and no slide outs! Sorry to hear about the size of your apartment. Sounds like camping would be an "upsize" vs a "downsize" 🤣. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting!
@@RVBlogger Yup, my apartment so small the tetras in my fishtank gotta swim up and down. 😆

gracias por sus comentarios, nos ayuda mucho para saber que casa rodante es la adecuada para nuestras necesidades, muy interesante
Estaremos encantados de ayudarle. Gracias por ver nuestro RV tour y revisión.
I like the Sportsman and the Rove best because of the light weight. I think my 3500 LB towing capacity could possibly tow it. Good storage and extra couch room for the dogs in the Sportsman! Like the Murphyish bed but Wish there were a couple more cabinet doors in the kitchen vs. all the cargo netting (gotta securely store food from the dogs! Wish the fridge was bigger w/freezer space in both units.
If tow weight wasn't an issue I would choose the puma. I really like that white farmhouse decor. It really brightens up the interior and I appreciate the fact that it has a larger refrigerator. I could use the bunkhouse area for storage perhaps of my scooter that I would need to take around since I'm disabled. It would also be a good area for dog crates as well.
What gives with the sink in the Winnebago? It makes the other sinks look large in comparison!!
Hey Rosemary,

I have a friend with the Rove Lite 14 BF model towing it with their Fourrunner getting close to 18 mpg on level roads. We bought the Rove Lite 14 FL with the dinette/bed in the front with a couch along the wall. Same weight and towed it with my Tacoma 4x4 four door short bed pickup 3500 lb tow capacity and got the same mpg as long as under 65 mph. We added an external 11 gal black tank as 5 gallons was not enough and an additional deep cycle battery. We only took it on one 2 1/2 week trip but everything worked fine even when we boon docked for a few days in the woods. We live in Nevada in Lake Tahoe area and can't wait for the snow to melt.
Nice review, New to your channel and camping. It be great to do a review on small trailers that are built for tall people or at least people over six feet high. I am having trouble researching this as nobody categorizes the bed length, room height and such like that, but thank you for the review . it helps me remember what to ask for.
I second that! Do reviews of small campers that a 6’4”, 280lb man can fit in comfortably, especially the bathroom.
Hey Lyndon

I don't understand the microwave thing. Unless I am living in the RV, the microwave seems odd to me. But I boondock and whatnot.
If I had a bigger tow vehicle, the Winnebago. But for us, right now the 1 or 2 trailers would be great.

I think a mid bathroom and a mid kitchen is an awesome for a small camper
That's great. There are quite a few TT floor plans that fit that criteria. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting!
For the second camper:
An easy fix for the wet bath, if people don’t want to bring a chamois to wipe everything down: wrap the shower around so the toilet stays dry, and have a wooden/bamboo mat/platform that fits into the basin for after the shower.
Hey Tanza,
Thats a great idea we appreciate the info!
