As these cars just get faster and faster they will be forced to.
I need more then a mile. It needs to be at least supportive of 2mile WOT and 1mile cool down for a total of 3miles. I can't tell if the McLaren's aero is really effective at the speeds they are hitting here.
However....let's not ignore the fact that Bugatti is a freaking animal.....

And yet the McLaren manages to keep up super well with the Chiron! I find that quite impressive and it shows that weight is everything!

@@larryc1616 think it either dies ridiculously quickly or they tried it a couple times and couldn’t get a good start so they never showed the footage of it at high %. Cause otherwise they’re absolute morons if they just forgot or neglected to charge it, and I’m pretty sure that’s not the case. Anyways they talk about it at 12:15 and even with its best time from before it still would’ve lost to the Chiron

@@mikaiyelmiah8538 not exactly 500 hp. The plaid makes 1020 whp whereas the Chiron makes 1360ish whp. Also one is electric, the other a quad turbo W16 which needs to cool down, electric isn't affected by weather.
True, that Tesla is hellishly quick out the gates but you can see the Bugatti just isn’t happy and can go faster. Brooks has had another Bugatti at a drag strip some years ago also completely hate launching from a dig.
@@CITRUS-- Bugatti's strength lies in the top end, but like I said, triple F released video on their channel and mentioned how the Bugatti was struggling doing launch control, it was not launching.
@@AWA-jv6rt your missing the point , the speed tail is a hydrid (V8 engine). Not a full electric so I don't know what plaid has anything to do with my comment . 500bhp is a huge difference and bhp does matter regardless if it's fully electric or not at the top end.
Find me another electric or petrol car that can beat a McLaren with the same bhp. There isn't one. I've been watching brooks and various
CZcamsrs for a good 6 years doing drags. the only car that come close are Porsche (engineering masterclass )
What i love about DragTimes is he actually put these Ultra expensive cars to work and to entertain us. 90% of the people who own these crazy expensive cars wouldn't dare race or do burnouts on them and I don't blame them lol. Thanks for your awesome content brotha!

That Speedtail, my goodness! Really harks back to those 1940’s world speed record cars. McLaren really know how to make something special!
The Speedtail looks very similar to the 1987 Oldsmobile Aerotech prototype, especially its tapered, Longtail.

Obvious it is, can you imagine the Chiron launching with 1500 hp released instantly , it would blow not only the tires but also drivetrain, boost is very limited at first gears

The interior of the speedtail is so freaking cool!
Battery charge aside, the Dragy data of the best runs show that these cars are very very similar. I'm impressed that the front wheel aero covers are so asymmetrical but are balanced enough to run 250mph. The bending paint on the rear spoiler does make me worry that the clear coat would start to crack after a few years of heat cycles. The Speed tail does look amazing in profile, but if I'm spending 3.6M then I'm picking the Chiron.
The speedtail will keep appreciating way more than the Chiron in 5-10-20years like the F1. the regular Veyron is worth less today than when new.

Bad ass. Brooks you could do serious damage with a speed tail with a fully built bored and stroked enlarged motor, larger turbos, methane injection, race gas tune, ice box, straight piped, all bolt ons, etc.. That would make it maybe around 1,800 horsepower perhaps.. Also a jesko would be good to see on here against all comers..

sad when you cant launch 5 million dollars correctly because a car of that "value" cant do it. This reminds me of guys that take their 30k mustang add 20k of boost and fuel and they run 8s and beat these cars one day and run 9.0 and beat these cars the difference is the slower cars have these issues and cost millions of dollars not 1 or 2 million dollars 1 car costs 2.90 to 2.94 million dollars more than mustangs that are faster and get hiccups less

Its not losing speed though the gear change it just the bugatti makes it seem that way. Also the bugatti is gaining much more speed then the speedtail, especially once the chiron gets into 4th gear +

Now here is an interesting drag race. The Chiron has a slight power to weight advantage but the speedtail is much more aerodynamic. Its incredible how the 1/4 mile times of the fastest combustion engined cars exactly mirror the times of the fastest 100 m sprinters.

These guys are giving carwow a run for their money with these races.
Both cars are quick, but if quick is all you want there are EVs. 9/10ths of what sells these cars are the looks and sound.
If I were paying for one or the other of these two cars, I would rather look at and listen to the Speedtail.
People may buy a special edition Porsche or Ferrari to sit in a basement garage as an investment, but I don't see either of these cars appreciating over the long term since they are already priced at the top of the market.

McLaren rly got an excellent engineered car which is fantabulous.
Man the lower models like the 720S can defeat all Lamborghinis and almost every Ferrari in a race. And the 765 LT comes at the same pace as the SF90 which has 1000 HP whereas 765 LT has 765 HP. It also defeats the Porsche 911 turbo S which quite defeats the 720S. The P1 is already on that stage where it defeats almost every car in that power range. And here having almost 400 HP less the Speedtail still performs well against the Chiron if we look at the performance.
This is BEYOND “Rare Races.”
