  • After a long hiatus, the Watcher returns with a Top 9 list, looking at characters that are animated, nostalgic, and that he hates, because his life has not been great.
    Surely, life will be going well for him.
    Also, next week, I will be doing a Q&A, which you can ask on my facebook page, so like so you can keep an eye out:

    I agree Sarah is 100% awful. she shouldn't treat Ed like that. sure, he's messy and kind of dumb, but he never bullies Sarah and causes problems to her. he makes everything to keep his sister happy and Sarah should consider herself as lucky. not everyone has caring brothers.

    To be honest, Billy is a terrible character personality wise, and a huge dick.
    However, the problem is that I can't HATE him per say.
    Most of the gags, plots, and so on start from his antics. For as awful as he is, he's awful in a kind of way where I can't take my eyes off the screen. He's INTERESTING.
    I wouldn't say this for any other character either, like Patrick from Spongebob for example. Patrick legitimately makes me legitimately annoyed. Billy, given the context of the series, is just another absurdity among so many others, and they regularly acknowledge and USE this rather than ignoring this fact in a series such as Spongebob. I think that's the difference if I'm honest.
    Because of that, I can actually say I appreciate him as a character.
    P.S. I can understand if the "Destroy us all" segment was annoying to you, but I personally thought that segment was hilarious at the time just because every other second I expected them to stop the gag but instead it just kept going. They also knew to break that expectation for a brief moment with the "Please pass the egg salad" before going right back to it.
    Edit: P.S.S. Thank you for the inclusion of Sarah. Where as Billy surprisingly does have some redeeming qualities, Sarah really is just there to be a brat. There really wasn't anything I liked about her as a kid, and I still can't think of any reason to enjoy her to this day.

      CartoonsOfThe2000s It really depends on the character and how much of an idiot they are:
      Randy Marsh is awesome because stupid things happen to him and the way he responds to them is hilarious.
      Homer Simpon is more an idiot, but he's likable, has a good heart and truly tries his best to fix situations.
      Peter Griffin is not only stupid, but an asshole too. He has funny moments, but other times he's frustrating to watch.

      Homer is mentally disabled.
      Randy is a odd one. And is less (dumb dad) and more (midlife crisis) considering he actually rarily ever hit abusive dick territory.
      Peter is a douch. But once again seasonal rot made It worse.
      Stan from American Dad. Now, he is boned when the plot says so.

      They could have had something in that episode since it seemed Bendy was the scapegoat for his own kid, but nothing came of it. That one off with Red worked because while he wanted to do what he was told and beat up Bloo, he found he liked being nice. But There was no rhyme or reason to Bendy's episode. There's no motivation for him to frame the others, he didn't know anybody. Nothing was gained with Bendy, watching him twist in the wind trying not to get caught isn't fun when you want him to get caught. So the episode just became unpleasantness for the sake of giving an unpleasant character attention.

    I can't believe you hate Dick! He's my favorite one off villain. The fact that he acts so heartless and cold is great. He's a real world corporate monster. As a person I do hate him, but as a character, he makes a fantastic bad guy.
    As far as Patrick... I agree with you, but only in the post first movie era. Before that he was usually a good natured simpleton, and when he wasn't, he was still really funny like in the secret box. Typically his nasty behavior came about when SB was being petty as well and came off more like little kids fighting. Post movie made him a passive aggressive bully who takes advantage of SpongeBob. He isn't a hammy ineffectual bad guy like Plankton, nor a maniacal monster like when Krabs is the antagonist.He's just a stupid jerk who treats his best friend like dirt.... in most episodes. The important thing to remember though, is that characters personalities aren't set in stone on this show, they vary from episode to episode quite a lot so Pat isn't consistently a bully, he goes back and fourth. Also, I've never had a problem with his voice, nor have I ever known anyone else who shares your opinion on that. Interesting.

      ***** I agree about Dick, I like him simply due to how much of a largely serious, irredeemable monster he is, especially considering msot one off villains are sympathetic, mindless monsters or incredibly silly (well, so are the recurring villains, but till), while dick is THE most evil character in the show, and is the only one to die.

    "He calls people ugly"
    Did you even watch the full episode? That was obviously a misunderstanding, Patrick only thought Spongebob was ugly because he doesn't have a nose and he couldn't smell him.
    "He calls Mrs. Puff a big fat meanie for no real reason"
    Again, way to take that scene completely out of context. Patrick called Mrs. Puff a big fat meanie because she told him and Spongebob off. Believe it or not, there are some people out there who don't like being told off. And honestly, "big fat meanie" is such a childish insult. The fact that you consider it mean spirited is just silly.
    "He brags about a new boat he gets"
    Wouldn't you? I don't know about you, but if I won the lottery I'd be pretty happy about it. I'd totally go around telling all my friends about it. It's basic human principle, it's not uncommon for people to brag about success. Especially someone like Patrick who is a complete loser who has never had anything to be proud of in his life.
    "He calls Mr. Krabs a big dummy for wanting to protect Spongebob from hooks"
    Again, the fact that you consider something as stupid and harmless as "big dummy" a serious insult is just silly. And Patrick actually had a legitimately good point too. He and Spongebob played on the hooks all day and they were fine. Sure, you can't blame Mr. Krabs for being cautious but you also can't blame Patrick for wanting to have fun with his friend.
    "Makes many of the worst jokes in the series"
    Are you kidding? Patrick is one of; if not, *THE* main source of comedy in the show. The idea is that your supposed to laugh at his stupidity. Same goes with Billy. Just because you don't properly understand comedy doesn't mean he's a bad character.
    "His voice grates against you worse than Billy"
    Okay, now it just sounds like your being plain insensitive towards people with disabilities. Patrick can't help but sound like that. Just like how people who have down syndrome can't help but sound odd as well.
    "Who CHOOSES to associate with someone like this?"
    Someone who's equally stupid and also has an annoying voice.
    What about the time Patrick intentionally beat himself up just so Spongebob could get inside the salty spatoon? Or the time he helped Spongebob get over his fear of being ugly? Or the time he looked after Spongebob while he had the suds? Yeah "this guy is awful", says you...
    What about Mr. Krabs? He's done WAY worse stuff in the show and he didn't even get so much as an honorable (or dishonorable) mention. He sold Spongebob's soul in one episode for 52 cents, he almost ripped a guys arm off over a penny, he almost KILLED a health inspector because he thought he was trying to get away with free food and also forced Spongebob to get involved at the cost of his job (which is almost as bad as holding a knife to his neck) and also potentially getting him thrown in jail for assisted murder. He also insulted Spongebob and Patrick and called them losers for wanting to show him a good time and he used Spongebob and Squidward as live bait just so he could get his dollar back.

    • @geraldsinger9954
      @geraldsinger9954 Před 8 lety +5

      For what Krabs has done, Plankton gains my sympathy, even after the movie, even after One Course Meal. Patrick, according to The Card, "You can't always expect my usual brand of stupidity. I like to mix it up, keep you on your toes." Everything he does heinously is on purpose from harming Gary, to hurting Squidward, to insulting Mrs. Puff. Only in later seasons I dislike him, but not as worse as Bendy, Numbuh 363, Sarah, Kevin, and Jimmy. I give sympathy for their victims.

    Kevin I always hated more than Sarah. For a couple of reasons:
    1) Sarah does get more than one comeuppance. For example, in 1+1=Ed, Eddy rips Sarah's loud mouth off in the really surreal sequence towards the middle of the episode. (Although I guess you can argue that this was just the Ed's imagination going into overdrive as Ed tries to take her mouth off again in the real world at the end with predictable consequences) There's also an episode where Edd hands Sarah the baby blue gym sock flower and Sarah suddenly becomes smitten with him, which is funny because it's a complete subversion of Sarah's character, plus it's funny to see timid Jimmy desperately try to express his jealousy and rage towards Edd. So I think Sarah is not a completely unfunny character. Plus there are a couple of episodes (Not many though) where Sarah manages to save the day, such as taking off the Edzilla mask to return Ed to normal, or telling the Kankers where their ship in a bottle is to end their rampage. (After being tied up by them of course) Yeah, Sarah's not great but she is 'supposed' to be annoying. If Sarah was nicer towards Ed then there would be less conflict, and it would just be less identifiable: We all knew someone as a kid who was just a little bit like Sarah, and Sarah is essentially that spoiled 'My way or the highway' brat turned up to 11.
    2) Particularly early on in EENE Kevin is a flat-out bully towards the Eds. I remember as a kid absolutely detesting Kevin, because of the way he occasionally picks on the Eds for no good reason, is constantly snarky and cynical, and is obsessed with being cool and athletic just so that the other kids will look up to him. Arguably he is even more ego-driven than Eddy is. Sure, you can say that Sarah manipulates the Ed's, Jimmy and several other kids to get her own way, but you can also argue that Kevin does this too, only in more subtle ways, even to Rolf, supposedly one of his closest friends in the Cul-de-Sac. I get the sense that everything is kind of just a joke to Kevin and that he doesn't really care about much other than himself, his image and his bike. Sarah at least unfailingly stands up for Jimmy every time she feels he's being threatened. And unlike Sarah, Kevin very rarely gets his just deserts: Often he's actually the one dishing it out to the Eds. So for me Kevin is a much easier character to hate, as well as a more natural Antagonist for the Ed's. There is also the whole dropped 'Edd has a crush on Sarah' plot-line but we won't talk about that here.

    • @jonathanlafferty2271
      @jonathanlafferty2271 Před 6 lety

      I agree Sarah is unlikable because she make's up a story involving DEATH to Ed's by getting them beaten for no reason it also means she herself is not funny. I also hated Jimmy because he is a liar who underestimated the Ed's by telling lies about them to be framed the since "If It Smells Like An Ed". Sarah is one of the deadliest characters who could've destroyed Cartoon Network at once the episode that made me hate her was since "Sir-Ed-A-Lot" not only did she continue breaking things in the house so that she can get her own way or get Ed in trouble the episode made me hate her when Eddy is juggling and Ed tossed a cactus and then Sarah laughs at Eddy as the cactus stabbed him in the hand. Sarah needs to be beaten by Mandy after the bull of death-punches Sarah had the Ed's put through for nothing.

    I don't know, as far as Billy goes he had very rare moments of being a jerk, it was only in specific episodes that he was actually mean to people, otherwise it was just him being dumb and not realizing something. Same kinda goes for Patrick. They were both made to be the stupid characters, and the only times I remember them being mean is only when the episode required it out of them for the sake of the joke.

    The only animated character who I really, truly despise is Hank Hill from "King of the Hill". I know most people unanimously loathe Peggy due to her egocentric, ignorant personality and for being a "Know-Nothing-At-All", but at least Peggy's egocentric personality can make for some funny jokes, and Peggy is at least a nice person.
    Hank, on the other hand, is the most bigoted, uptight, overtly patriotic to the point it narrows his worldview, unimaginative, selfish jackass I have ever seen on television. He constantly chastises and puts down his only son just because he's "not right" (AKA not a clone of Hank), even to his face at times, and he constantly turns his nose towards anything progressive, even when the progressive thing in question makes more sense. This wouldn't be a bad thing if handled correctly; it would be a very interesting character, IF IT WAS INTENTIONAL! But no, we are supposed to side with Hank. Always. The writing never shows him in the wrong.
    I mostly hate the way he treats Bobby. Bobby is just an awkward, dorky kid trying to find his place in the world, and every episode where Bobby finds a new interest, Hank always has to intervene because it's not what he approves of. And Hank only bonds with Bobby when he does an activity that Hank approves of.
    I can't really articulate my hate for Hank fucking Hill right now, but he is probably the most unlikable character on the show, for me; as well as the worst animated parent in any show or movie.

    • @ndm13
      @ndm13 Před 9 lety +9

      I view Hank as a representation of America, or at least a shot of Texas in a slice of life sense. Yeah, his views are as apple pie as can be, but it's at least a somewhat accurate representation of American values as stereotyped by the media and pinned on the face of Texas.
      Peggy, on the other hand, represents the universal superiority complex. She knows everything, is better than everybody, and intends to keep it that way. All her ideas are gold and she's never made a poor decision. It's this smug arrogance that keeps her hated.

Broly was a pointless filler villain who has since joined the ranks of Garlic Jr., Turles, and other villains who will never be mentioned again. And Dick? Dick was responsible for some of the darkest stuff in the series so he gets a pass with me.

    I don't know if any one else feels this way, but I always thought that Ed, Edd, and Eddy were tragic characters who lived in a neighborhood filled with stuck-up ass-hole kids who used the Eds as some sort of punching bag. I would love to see a series where all the kids have grown up just so I could see the Ed's go on to became rich or something like that while all the other kids peak at middle/high school and become pathetic sad sacks. The Ed's were nowhere near perfect, but they ended up being the chumps who had to take responsibility for something they didn't mean to do or something that wouldn't have happened had their parents been around (and their parents are always conveniently never around). Ed, Edd, and Eddy are characters that prove the ultimate truth that some kids can get away with whatever they while other become little "whipping boys" for all the other kids to laugh at.

    • @mitcheltheman1366
      @mitcheltheman1366 Před 8 lety +1

      +Lucas Davis Well in the kids' defense, it's really only Eddy they hate since his scams have caused them a lot of pain and burnt holes in their pockets. Out of all 3 of the Eds, Edd is the most liked by all the kids since he's much more scrupulous and level-headed, and Ed is just...well, Ed. Sure Eddy has an excuse for his jerkish behavior, but sometimes, he goes too far that he deserves some of the pain he gets at the end, such as in Brother Can You Spare an Ed.

    Miss Martian from Young Justice season 2. She's practically a serial murderer and she should be in jail. The only time she regrets destroying someone's mind is when she does it to a friend she thought went to the dark side but he was just a double agent. She should be feeling horrible wiping the brains of any criminal, not just when she does it by mistake. She ruined the show for me because she never got punished. She should be arrested and thrown to prison or at least forced to repair the minds of all the people she turned into a vegetable. And Superboy should be arrested too since he stayed silent about it.

    What's even worse with Bendy is that he was able to pull his act on those against Wilt, a characters known to be honest to a fault as a plot point iirc. The fact that they didnt even stop to think about that for a second is really baffling. They pretty much ignored one of Wilts biggest character traits to do the Bendy is an asshole thing.
    As for Sara she's also awful for another reason, which is something that is shared with DW from Arthur. This is a character trait that happens in a lot of homes. A little brother or sister being favored by the parents and constantly bullying and getting the older sibling in trouble. It hits really close to home which makes her far more frustrating a character.
    On the other hand I cant fully agree with Broly. He's not a complicated character by any stretch of the imagination and his motivation is batshit stupid but as a sadistic asshole villain he works I think. The sequel movies dont do much for him though. And a lot of his fanbase does hype him up to stupid degrees, though I dont think its fair to dislike a character because of the fanbase.

    Enh, I don't quite agree with your #1. Sure, he's terrible in seasons 5 on, but he certainly wasn't always like that. He was simply just a misguided bumbling baffoon who liked having fun and hanging with friends. He did act like a tool sometimes, but it was used more of a joke rather than a plot device. Even when he did affect the plot, it's easy to tell he meant well, and it was often nothing more than a minor annoyance (for example, the way he acted in the episode "Missing Identity"). I just think that if you're going to include a character on the list, you can't really only include certain seasons that character was in.

    honestly, I really didn't like: Gideon from gravity falls, Peggy from King of the hill, and Paul from pokémon. Gideon is a power hunger jerk, Peggy is an unlikable egotistical moron, and Paul is also a power hungry jerk. Except that he is the same age as Gideon and he is taller and has purple hair. Gideon literally looks like a short business man in his late 60s rather than a 10-year-old. Paul only caught pokemon because they were powerful, and cared not for love. Peggy is the simplest hated character. She is stupid. But she thinks she is smart. OBVIOUSLY when you put those two things together she turns into a kidnapper!

    I agree that the current Patrick Star is worthless. But before the movie, he was actually very likeable because he actually had good intentions in almost everything but was an idiot and sometimes got his just desserts for that (like how he got packed into a tuna can in Hookey for convincing Spongebob to play with hooks constantly). Patrick beforehand was also actually trying to help Spongebob when he was caught in a sticky situation from time to time. Best example I can think of right now is when Spongebob ate his bad odor sundae that gave him extremely bad breath that can melt buildings. Everyone in that episode was trying to avoid him because of that and Spongebob never knew why. Patrick couldn't tell either cause he has no nose so suggested that Sponge was ugly. He even got out a mirrior which smashed itself which usually indicates an ugly person looked into the mirror and broke it just by doing so (of course the mirror actually smelled his breath and smashed itself for THAT reason). Patrick had enough evidence from that to conclude that Spongebob's "ugliness" is the reason why everyone is avoiding him because there was no reason he could tell that his breath stinks. Heck Patrick even did his best to cheer Spongebob up even though he wasn't doing a good job at it since he isn't smart. His intentions all that time were good, even though he is dumb and was unsuccessful. It's examples like that which made the pre movie Patrick loveable. He is dumb but he has a heart and actually wants to have fun with and be helpful to Spongebob. There may have been times when Patrick was being really unlikeable but those were minor from what we see today.
    The current Patrick... well... he changed into a complete A-hole that dilleberately spites everyone he sees. There's nothing likeable about him now.

  • @OckhamAsylum

    Patrick is a perfect example of what you get when you have writers who don't actually know what comedy is but they still think they do.
    They *think* comedy is cruelty to an excessive degree.
    They *think* that comedy is levels of stupidity that make you questions whether or not he's actually trying to be the dumbest thing in the universe.
    They *think* that no repercussions or lessons are necessary when the sadism and malice on display is merely a byproduct of stupidity and thus not intentional.

    I personally hate Ed, Edd and Eddy as a show. I never found it funny, and never liked the characters (except Double D).
    As far as your list, I generally found Billy funny throughout the series, and I agree with Patrick only in the post-movie episodes and I'm With Stupid.
    Like with Billy, I found Patrick funny. My favorites moments being "Leedle Leedle Leedle," "Is mayonnaise an instrument," "The inner mechanisms of my mind are an enigma," "I love you," "I'm Dirty Dan," "Are you Squidward? That's OK take your time," and "Is that for here of to-go? uuuuuuuuuuuuuhh..." I could go on for a while too.
    If there is somebody I hate though, it's K'nuckles from FlapJack. As a kid, I liked the show, but even then I hated him. He was supposed to be a father figure, but he was a terrible influence on him. He would do anything for candy, wasn't funny, and pushed him around. Even if the world did this, he definitely shouldn't. He never told him to stand up for himself, and he constantly lied just because he was greedy. He's like modern Mr. Krabs combined with Francis from the FOP (but Francis is likeable).

    I think sakura deserves a spot. Kishimoto didn't know what they wanted her to do. First she was suppose to be the brains of the team which would be a good balance but in battle Naruto and sasuke usually though of the plans. Its like she cares nothing about naruto and is only focused on sasuke. There several examples of this happening through out the series. Like rock lee knocked naruto unconscious and sakura just stood there and sasuke goes toe to toe with him and gets beat and sakuras all shooken up. This would be sort of okay if sasuke even ever acknowledged her but no. Sasuke couldn't give 2 shits about sakura and she still chose to be his fangril and do anything for him. While naruto loved sakura and she wouldn't lift a finder to help him. Shes literately the worst type of person. Now in part 2 its like she just becomes a mirror image of tsunadi. Shes more aggressive and its like her brains are gone. She no longer has that high intelligence she used to have and she has no promise of being a genjutsu type like in the begging of the series they hinted shed be. She just heals people and is really strong she actually has some use in part 2. But sasuke literately knocked her out and left her and barley even acknowledged her and sai starts stating facts about him and she punches him. Sai told it like it was sasukes a trader and she has the never to say you dont know a thing about him so don't bad mouth him. Like sasuke is some saint who cares about his comrades and was just misunderstood. Shes just very unlikable in part 1 and in part 2 it gets a lot better but shes still hella annoying. ( please no spoilers im not done) and then in the shinobi world war ( spoilers) when team 7 links up she states ive finally caught up to you too. Like bitch no you haven't she walks around with an undeserved since of accomplishment like shes on equal terms with sasuke and naruto when shes not.

Not to mention naruto was doing the same thing blindly defending saskuke because he was a member of team 7 and 2. sakura is on equal terms with sasuke and naruto. she's a better leader then both of them, she is smarter then both of them even if she uses her strength alot her inteligence is hte entire reason tsunade agreed to take her in as a student and her healing capabliites are unmatched (except tsuande ofcourse). Saying sakura isnt on equal terms with them is like saying tsunade doesn't deserve to be a sanine

So back to the main point the three sanin and team 7 are two different teams. Even though they all carry traits from there mentors they still are different. Sasuke has the mangekyo sharingan naruto has the bijuu mode and what does sakura have ? Lol healing capabilitys and strength. Ho does those match up with the other two ? sakuras good now dont get me wrong but I believe even sai could take her out if they fought to the death. Hell part 1 neji or lee could take take her out. She has ot caught up to them two. They are not on equal terms who would you put your money on if they all fought ? And weve aalready determined that her intellegence dosent really help all too much in a fight because sasuke and naruto both are smarter in actual battle.

    Yeah I am a Broly fan and I understand why many people don't like him as a villain but for me he is the completely over-reacting sadistic chaotic force of evil that to be honest had a rough life. I mean he gets stabbed as a baby and he gets thrown into a big rubbish bin with his disemboweled father. Only because he was TOO strong as a baby. Its a story about what happens when someone is given power that they don't understand and then someone punishes them for reasons they don't comprehend, you would be a massive prick if you were a floating space baby with a knife wound and had to kill and destroy to get food and water as you travel through space. I mean Gohan shows some "Broly-like" qualities when he turns super sayian 2. It may just be Broly has like autism levels of Sayin-ness and it completely controls him. He has no one to care about so there is no one to break him out of his rage. I will agree though ever movie after the first one makes Broly look like a huge puss.

    Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan.
    By far my least favorite character on that show. Aside from being massively overrated, she is ridiculously overpowered. She shows no signs of having any formal training before boot camp, and yet she glides through it like she's done it for years.
    And if that wasn't enough, she's so fucking dull. Her backstory is the only thing interesting about her. I can get behind stoic characters, but she's just plain apathetic. She doesn't care about the corps or fighting titans. The only reason she even joins is to follow Eren, yet she goes through it effortlessly. Other than Eren (and occasionally Armin) she shows little to no interaction with any of the other characters.
    In the end, she's a god-modded, overrated, dull, and bland character who gets most of her fans from the fact that's she's pretty and has a cool, red-scarf.

    • @JKDavitz
      @JKDavitz Před 9 lety +5

      Jean is my favorite. It's pretty rare to see the douchebag foil character go through such interesting development. My second favorite character being Hanji (Hange) for being so enjoyably crazy. All the other characters I think are decent.
      As for Levi, I've only seen the anime and OVA's, but he seems ok, if not a bit overrated. Unlike Mikasa, they actually show that he trained with the Maneuver Gear long before he joined the Corps, which at least explains why he is so God-modded. Plus, you see the relationships he has with other corps members.

      ***** I disagree. Jean has the most interesting development, but you see the pain Eren goes through when his mother is eaten. While it has little to no build up, is a mother figure. It's obvious motivation. Reiner and Bertolt (Manga mainly) show that SPOILERS FOR AOT:
      That they *had* to destroy the wall, and their internal struggle (Especially Reiner) leads them to be in the most difficult situation in the series. Reiner might as well have Multiple Personality Disorder.
      Mikasa makes no sense. Eren shows that motivation doesn't equate to ability, and you have to train to be able, no matter your strength. Mikasa is the exact opposite. The first kill she achieved was straight through the heart, but Eren, while he killed two people, did not kill them with the same precision. I assume it's because she had nothing to lose, but it's still a long shot.....
      These are only a few.

    • @Trunks1stApprentice
      @Trunks1stApprentice Před 8 lety

      +Joshua Davitz I am one of the Mikasa fans, and while I admit that she IS overpowered, unlike most characters, you KNOW she's gonna be overpowered right from the start. But unlike most other overpowered people, she has motivation. Protecting Eren, despite him not really needing to, to fulfill a promise to Eren's mother. And as the series goes on, it becomes less fulfilling a promise and more her personal goal, making it a character trait. As for her natural ability, there's a fan theory that between the shared last names, hair coloration, emotionless personalities, and overall skill, that she is Levi's sister, with skill like that being in the family. But to get off fan theory, I like that she's overpowered. Early on, it creates an underlying theme about "survival of the fittest" and it's pretty cool.

      ***** Eddy's mostly an ass when it came to money but what he truly wanted was to basically be a somebody to the cal-de-sac and not a cast out. Sarah treated her own older brother like that.

    3:09. Alright, I haven't seen Justice League nor that particular 'Fury' episode with Aresia therefore I'm not one to talk here. However one major plot hole about her story is that why didn't Hippolyta just tell Aresia she was saved by a man in the first place? I understand that if Hippolyta wasn't particularly fond of men either, she would keep this hidden. Apart from that, I don't see why Hippolyta kept this piece of vital information for so long to the point Aresia became entirely motivated by her hatred of men.
