    I served with this group on 2 ships between 1984 and 1986 and can tell you that the stories shared on this video are understated. The work they do is much more than this video can show. It changed not only the persons we served but changed my life not only in the things they do but in the lives they actually live. The current captain I remember from 1986 when we carried supplies to Honduras. Any donations made to this group are used wisely. I hope they can continue forever assisting those in need.

    Thanks to American charitable organizations, which have done the most for people with limited resources and many countries in the world. Providing such help means a lot to the whole world. They put a smile on the faces of thousands of people worldwide, particularly in Africa.

    This is powerful! Jesus said we will have troubles(suffering) in this world, but he told us not to worry because he has overcome the world. I am seeing our Lord is overcoming these troubles through these lovely people! Thank you!

    My family served on the first Anastasis in Greece when it was in ship yard in 1980-81. I have many fond memories and it is heartening to see how this work has made such an impact.

    I'm Already A Monthly Automatic Donor To Mercy Ships. And Make Larger Additional Donations During Your Mid Winter Campaigns As Well. THIS YEAR I've Sent This 60-Minutes Report To My Retired Siblings That Have Enough Extra Money To Donate To This Wonderful Work. Including Several Other Personal Success Stories That Are Posted About Their Conditions And Recovery Over To Them Along With This CBS Report. I Hope Other Folks That Watch These Can Donate And Pass Them Along To Other Caring Friends The Same Way. So KEEP THEM POSTED So Hopefully MORE Caring People Can See What You Do For The Less Fortunate, And Financially Help You TOO. You Certainly ARE Doing Gods Work Indeed. YOU Are Doing The Heavy Lifting. All We Have To Do Is Open Our Hearts And Wallets...

    I can't believe the guy says people are watching this and saying I couldn't do that. I think most people watching want EXACTLY to go work on Mercy ships and be there for that. I'd love to make such a profound difference, be a person that holds the person's hand and feels so much love and says, " we'll do all we can to help."

    *Matthew **25:34**-40*
    *34* _Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:_
    *35* _for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;_
    *36* _I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’_
    *37* _“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?_
    *38* _When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?_
    *39* _Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’_
    *40* _And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’_
    *Praise God!*

    it would be nice if our veterans here in america got this kind of care and attention.

    • @marginelouis6674
      @marginelouis6674 Před 6 lety +2

      A lot of politicians in America like to pay them lip service. Once election comes around it all about respecting the flag and honoring our troops but after that they could give less of a f*ck. I really hope they get the care they deserve. Another thing to keep in mind is that these are people who live on less than $2 a day and this might be the first time they get to see an actual doctor. They're not living it up. Im sure no veteran wants to trade places with them.

    • @robertabrannan1508
      @robertabrannan1508 Před 7 lety +4

      I saw them as actual people... singing, dancing, celebrating the healings, going into nursing, helping others to the head of the line. These are people who have been shunned, FORCED to be defined by their disease, now having hope and moving forward. Not sure what you mean.

    • @marylougeorge9890

      They were people from another country (outside of the US) who were very much in need of medical services.

    • @koreanjaefish
      @koreanjaefish Před 4 lety +1

      @@marylougeorge9890 I think I might have been a little misguided in commenting this, but if I could translate for my younger self, I think the ideal situation would be if the infrastructure and culture was such that African people and governance had more agency in treating their own people, a power that's been stripped from them because of colonialism, neo-colonialism, and in-fighting largely sparked by the latter two. It doesn't nullify the fact that the people need urgent treatment. I would add that USA has been incredibly incompetent in addressing public health issues even with vast funding, intellectual infrastructure, etc.
