Battlefield is a great story. There is zero comparison with any of New Who's rubbish, let alone the last six years of utter tripe.
But you can see why we picked it because of the comparative tv ratings

With regard to Battlefield I think it’s a decent story and at least we had an eccentric unusual looking actor playing the Doctor. With Gatwa he looks like a male model and doesn’t have the right character for the Doctor. Paterson Joseph would have been far better but not with this atrocious writing from RTD. Great stream.
Great stream Brendan & panel! I agree about McCoy when he shouts, it's like a falsetto voice. "There will be no battle here!" Cringe! Ben Aaronovitch has said himself he's not happy with his script for the story. I still think there's a lot to enjoy - The Brigadier, Bessie, Morgaine/ Jean Marsh, The Destroyer. Not a classic, but enjoyable.
Cringe moments - the numerous end of episode close up's on The Doctor in Troial of a Timelord; McCoy breaks the 4th wall in Remembrance, "I think I may have miscalculated"; Silver Nemesis when he spots the Queen with her corgi's and his clowning around; Greatest Show when Mags attacks him, the voice goes again and he's swinging about on ropes; The Absorbaloff; Fear Her - whole episode; Space Babies/Devils Chord - all of it; Church Ruby Road - the Goblin song; Ghatwa whenever he opens his mouth. I'd better go now! 😉👍
Yes it needed better execution with stunts, acting really
Sylvester's attempt at: "There will be no battle here!" was pure cringe, he just didn't quite have the acting chops to pull it off.
The colourized Daleks is a mixed bag. Music was good. Colour was OK. I was shocked that they cut the scene when the camera was removed from the cell wall and then it magically appeared later to jam the door. Plus cutting out scenes but using a vision mixer to show clips of them while charactes referenced them later was annoying.
The Twin Dilemma: Ethnic Bending Sir Isaac Newton and Wild Blue Yonder ..not forgetting Regenerating Y fronts- all utter shite!

The fact that Kate l-S is now commanding UNIT is pure cringe. Makes a mockery of the show. The role is not subject to progeny
I cringe every time I hear an orchestral stab/hit coming off that keyboard in a Sylvester McCoy epsiode's soundtrack. So... every Sylvester McCoy episode.
Sometimes Rachael sounds so much like Olivia Colman.
Battlefield was more interesting than some of the stories of that era.
That should have read the role should be earned, not inherited. Pure New Who crap.
I did not like the new Brigadier. Her acting was awful.
