Really well shot and captures the Viaduct and pillbox well. It's a lovely place to visit.

Seems an odd place to build defences so far inland.Nice to see it's relatively graffitti free ,for a change.
Just a point Stockport viaduct is the largest brickbuilt structure in the UK (and Western Europe).,not Battersea Power Station.

Thanks, interesting film and commentary! Marvellous brick work viaduct, wasn't aware it was in Essex. I'm curious now to look up the history. It's a timely reminder of WW2 defences, and what people would have faced if there'd been an invasion. Still a lot of pillboxes around my area, some near the railway lines and also former RAF Hornchurch Airfield. Have you guys had a look in Wat Tyler Park at Vange? Pillboxes and river defences for the creeks coming off the Thames. 👍

Thank you! We have another video on our channel that takes a look at the former RAF Hornchurch site and we're currently working on a video of the history of Wat Tyler, so watch this space!

Have you guys seen the Pillar Box next to the railway line between Benfleet & Pitsea? you can only reach it from the fields but it does look in good condition.

Nice footage 👌 We had talked about this location and were even recording in the area recently but were hindered by time...and battery power. Was the pillbox accessible?
