I'm 50 years older than this kid with the mad skills, but when I get my creaky old bones on my surf skate, I feel how he looks! Great fun, especially now that the bleeding has slowed.... ;)
How old? I'm also an adolescent in an old person's body and I really love these things. Compared to the crapy old skateboards of the 70s , these are heaven. I was I was born 50 years later.

I just started using my yow and still getting hang of it. I notice that he does a lot of steering thanks to his back back foot movement.

When I step on my malibu and the wheels begin to turning I am instantly a kid again, to be 60 and I still look at the world as a 16 year old.........priceless.
Nicely edited and well presented. I looked at getting one of these but too expensive by the time shipped to Oz. Really like the engineering that has gone into it, with exception of needing to change the spring out to adjust the tension. having said that once you get the right feeling spring you should be set.
Ended up with a hybrid using a Surfskate 42" deck and rear truckset with a Smoothstar thruster 1 front truck fitted with Avenue suspension truck. Gotta say that the original Surfskate truck was a PIA, nearly zero adjustment to increase pivot resistance which is what gives you a nice progressive resistance like on a thruster surfboard.
If you are in the market for a true Surf Skateboard the go with the YOW, Smoothstar or the Carver C7, or make a hybrid from 2nd hand boards like I did but be sure to use a good front swivel truck and a wide deck with a wide rear truckset and hard bushings.

The wheels doesn’t matter, the thing is that they are super ultra used, so theres hardly no grip. I know it from experience, use your wheels until they are 3 times smaller than original size and you will slide like a mf. ;)
This or Carver?
This is more surf feeling. Carver is more stable and better for ramps!

are yow better than carvers?
Yow destroys Carver all day long, the best part is Yow's technology is in a base plate that any normal truck mounts to so you can use whatever setup you'd like, with Carver and Swelltech etc you have to buy their truck which means you can't really switch up deck size.
