#BlackSabbath #Dumfries #LiveBootleg - Zábava
Fun fact: This was recorded by Alex Wilson, a founding member of the doom band Iron Claw which would base their sound off of Black Sabbath during this particular show. History in the making indeed!
I fucking love Iron Claw! What a great band, Dismorphophobia is gold to me.
Yeah, they were awesome...👌
Those guys deserved more fame than they had. Their songs Winter and Skullcrusher are some of the best 70's metal period.
Iron Claw were so good. They were covering Sabbath songs before the first record even released!

mk1vx1000 Mark, is that you ?
Yer a legend.
mk1vx1000 Mark, my long lost pal [if it's u]. A true Sabbath fan, so a possibility.
Big clue is u have 4 subscribers, and there were 4 other ppl in house where u lived (talking over 20 yrs ago). Those were: Mike, Trevor, Jack & his wife [who I can't remember name of].
Last time I cycled down there [Stratford] was in 96: and got told that u had all gone to live in India !
If it's Not u, then u should be able to delete this reply from Google+
well this is just awesome
mk1vx1000 thanks
Holy shit, The Warning live.
Diego González i know dude
Diego González I ve been looking for that for like 5 years
They did the warning Bradford st Georges hall 1974
should of been played more
I searched warning live and it took me here
1969? This concert is history in the making
It wasn't really a "concert".... it was a band playing to teenagers in a Youth Club! No alcohol, no swearing from Ozzy, just good music!
@@ironclaw2006 so a concert in the absolute purest sense? I'd just about say so
I didn't know Sabbath played live from the bottom of a washing machine on spin cycle in '69! Cool sounds.
Andrew sd I'm sure that's where the crowd thought they were back in 69... high on LSD lol
In Scotland in the late 60s? Speed would've been a lot more likely
You're wrong there Denni, not in Dumfries... "smoking and tripping is all that you do".....
Just going by what the guys in the band have said, themselves
There was probably enough of everything to go around.
This was recorded by Alex Wilson from Iron Claw as he was one of the very early Black Sabbath fan !
Thanks for the name check!
Alex, you're a hero :) Thanks a lot!
Just like to thank you for recording this piece of history, Alex!
Thanks for the kind comment!
Prove what?@Doctor Dank
Greatest band ever. I saw sabbath in Auckland, New zealand this year one of the best experiences a 14y/o could've had thank you Sabbath
Imagine what it was like 47 years ago Harry!
Congrats!!! And some details please! It needs to be documented, it's part of music history now.
These guys are going to become an amazing band!
Going to become? They are and have been for a very long time.
@@mikel465 it was a joke my friend!
@@axelsvensson5234how long did they already have their name at that time? Bcs before it was „Erth“.
When I'm.old as hell I'm.going to listen to all their bootlegs ...they're like old friends
BLACK SABBATH - Live November 16, 1969 Dumfries, Scotland 1256pm 16.3.22 if you had a mind to you would get some software and make cd copies of all your bootlegs and then release them to an appreciative you tube audience. i'd buy 'em off yer...
It really showcases what a serious player Tony was and how Bill and geezer could swing and groove. Even atf their heaviest Black Sabbath always had a swing to their music that metal bands usually don't have. It never sounds mechanical it always sounds compelling.
This is the first known live recordings as Sabbath.
There's also their performance on John Peel's BBC radio show in October 69.
@the smooth m'g how?
They did announce themselves as Black Sabbath at a concert in my local town of Workington at the end of August 1969 previous name of the band was called Earth
August 30th 1969
The the name was changed at Henry's blues house at a gig in early August 1969. Sabbath were there supporting Ten Years After when Tony Iommi told Alvin Lee about the name change Alvin was against it! LOL it's a good thing Tony didn't listen to Alvin. Cheers
tony iommi playing a flute! awesome!
Def sounds like a Tull tune from the early days
I was a teenager the first time Sabbath came to the U.S.,and thank God one of their stops was St.Louis. I was 14 and at that show.
The first time I heard the self titled Black Sabbath album it changed my life. Warning has always been one of my favorite songs from that record. It's so awesome to hear it live!
quoting Alex Wilson of Iron Claw who recorded this artifact of high historical significance - "Out of interest, the equipment Sabbath were using then was a 60 watt
Laney amp each (Geezer and Tony) driving two 4x12" cabs each (ie one
stack each). It was so loud and clear I couldn't believe they were 60
watts but that's what they told me! Ozzy sang through a 100 watt Vox PA
amp driving two Vox 6x8" columns! Bill was using one bass drum, one
floor tom and one hanging tom! (Note the lack of effing and blinding
from Ozzy in those days, he was a nice lad and it was a Youth Club!)"
Holy shit, super early Black Sabbath!
BLACK SABBATH - Live November 16, 1969 Dumfries, Scotland 1305pm 16.3.22 holy sheep shit, indeed...
i cant believe how great and authentic this version of warning came out, Jesus Christ...
50 years ago today!
Extraordinary! The Beatles were still going at this time, barely.
Beat the Meatles....I'm Ringo, I play the drones.
@@royphillips7435 Thinking more in the line of Hendrix. Jimi was the first to play like that. The Beatles were basically out of the picture as any sort of meaningful new musical influence after '66-Sargent Pepper's notwithstanding.
I'm just imagining paying a few bucks, not knowing anything about the band I'm about to see and being treated to early Sabbath...just amazing! These guys brought it. Thank you Tony, Ozzy, Geezer, and Bill. You guys are historically epically great!
My gran was at this show!
I was there and even after listening to this, I cannot remember a thing. Saying that I was drunk, so I don't remember most of the concerts I went to in the 60/70/80s, even the 90s it's pretty vague. I kind of remember some of Sabbath's 'The Reunion Tour' and 'Then End Tour'.
BLACK SABBATH, A MELHOR BANDA DE TODOS OS TEMPOS!!!
MINHA FAVORITA!
VIVA BLACK SABBATH!
ME TOO
they were so fresh that year. The Warning sounds great !!
About time the official Sabbath channel got this uploaded. I recently discovered this recording after I listened to the demo of The Rebel.
Blue Blooded Man, Song For Jim, Early One Morning, Let Me Love You Baby, The Warning... what a setlist! Thank you very much, thank you.
warning man. i've been looking for this for so many years
Black Sabbath A Melhor BANDA DE ROCK!
seeh loko cachoera
Todos os discos são bons Black Sabbath.
Como amo esta banda!! Black Sabbath para siempre!
Piece of history... Amazing!
wow way back Sabbath never gets old!
True!
God bless Bill Ward !!!
BLACK SABBATH - Live November 16, 1969 Dumfries, Scotland 16.3.22 1302pm go get that cd peace on earth by john coltrane... listen to this drum solo after song for jim... people forget that people lift or are inspired by various riffs and skits from other sources - it's akin to some revelation if they find that not all aspects of art are of virgin birth. where did it all go wrong, one wonders..? i am concurring with someone when i think i doubt anyone would have noticed...
The tune at the 6 minute area is extremely Jan Akkerman's Focus. Was the "olden days" for me, but I loved it
Black Sabbath made my parents think I was a satanist. After a couple of decades, little did they know it was so much worse!
Bill Ward is showing John Bonham how it's done. Nuff said..
John Alkema Nah
Nah
YES
Personally I’d have to agree with you there. Bills my all time favorite
Both great in my book. Love Ward's style over Bonham's though. And definitely regardless of who is actually better, Ward is way under rated.
During that massive drum solo I was waiting for Bill Ward to sarcastically yell out "all drum solos are boring!"
Wow that's really old and really good
16 de Noviembre de 2016 47 años tuvieron que pasar para que vinieran a México en su última gira en la misa fecha que este live del 69, SABBATH 4EVER
yo estuve ahí! \m/ hace tres años y en el concierto de noviembre del año pasado.
Incredible
warning is sooo great, love it since i was 12, am 50 now
That is one badass gig!! :)
Cheers for that!
AMAZING RARE DOCUMENT. LONGLIFE MY MASTER
That was unexpected.
Thanks for uploading this; it's amazing.
Que hermosura
Saludos al cielo, Gerardo!
Classic Sabbath.. love it!!
I was only 2 months old when this took place.
Im 54 years old wearing a Black Sabbath tee shirt right now lol.
What the fuck! Love this! Those songs should be at an deluxe version of an album!
1969, My Year!!!! My Band, My Prince! My Love., My.......oh My....... :)
Quando tudo começou. Masters!
Having The Opportunity to Hear Bill Ward During Song For Jim/Drum Solo/Reprise, is Fucking Incredible... Bill Ward has again made everything Earthly Natural... ...
Id give my left teet to have been there. Jaysus. wowww a lot of people dont realize they were a blues based band. Its fabulous!
The 70s/80s/90s will never be surpassed, The Best! São Paulo - Brazil - Rock On The Rock V-8 🤙🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Sabbath got big because of Word of Mouth not because of radio play. First time I heard Sabbath was in my friends 8-track in his car. They were far ahead of their time.
Legendary
Black Sabbath thanks for this thirsty upload!!!
18:02 sleeping village live!!? Holy shit! This is my favorite song of the first album!! And, yes..more than N.I.B!.....
(The first time and the last😅😅😪)
Sleeping Village live Electric Circus April 29th 1970 Switzerland. Approximately 32 minutes long with extra verse that was not included on their debut album.
Holy fucking shit! 1969, the year the world changed....
this is amazing
Thank you. this is absolutely amazing. wish i was alive around then.
I was, and I lived 60 miles from Dumfries, but I was only 15 at the time and my parents wouldn't have driven me there, they thought the Stones were bad enough, lol
@@Skraeling1000 Lucky stuff! I wouldn’t be born until 2002 so unfortunately most of these bands are already done and over with touring. Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to catch at least one show (which is highly unlikely)
@@cav5659 on the other hand, you'll live to see (hopefully) even better bands than I will!
My first time hearing this, really amazing !!!
I'm liking the Jethro Tull jam in "Song For Jim". What a great era to have been a poor English musician. Something different every single day. Making lots of history, but no money. Now it's all golden.
1969 BLACK SABBATH.......#1
very good find
Awesome!
Fucxxxx incredible!!!
could've sworn they never played Warning live. glad to see im wrong
One of my favorites.
It is probably THE rarest song that you could hear at a Sabbath show past '70.
C0nnie oldAynsly Dunbar Retaliation song. they did this from the Earth days
I can't find anything showing that they played the song past 1970.
@@toadfan64 Becaue they didn't. I don't think they played any cover songs anymore past 1970.
This is proof that sabbath created METAL
Love the bluesy tracks!
Fantastic Post!!! Many Thanks! Flute in 'Song For Jim''..!? Tony get lessons from Ian Anderson..?
Back when Sabbath was blues
Vegan Sabbath they had found the metal sound by this point though (had some of their future songs written already), but they did bluesy rock here yeah. Hell the "Wizard" is bluesy.
hell yea!
They do have a Track list and i see some metal songs on it.
Vanja Ustipak you can hear sabbath’s blues influence mostly in their first 4 albums, although by Master of Reality, it had evolved into its own sludgy, Doom metal sound
@@nastylittlecritter along with their more progressive sounds by Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
A week today it will be 50 years.
Tony is killing it on flute!
ever best.my good.
Ilove ossy
Germanie
I almost thought I was listening to Tull there for abit.
When even the Black Sabbath youtube channel screws it up.. it's not "the Warning" it's just "Warning"! love this performance though
might of been a demo name when they were playing this, as this was a year before the album came out
@@tomb2577 This was a month after they recorded the first album and just 3 months before it was released.
So good \m/
LEGENDS
this is a hell of a find, wow
Glad you enjoyed it!
Eu só queria estar lá....
this is fantástic 😍
This is amazing man! recorded 3 months before their killer debut album \m/
Wylde Kyle their album was recorded 1 month before this concert actually
@@RZAJW Evil Woman was recorded in October 1969, yes. And Wicked World was likely recorded even earlier. But the other tracks that made it to the debut album were recorded right after this show, on 17 and 18 November.
@@lindab.8386 debut album recorded October 16th 1969 Regent Sound Studio London. Tony iommi's Stratocaster pick up blew while recording the song Wicked World. The rest of the songs were recorded on his famous 65s G monkey guitar on the same day.
@@richardhincemon9423 I know that's how the story was originally told, but Linda B. is right: history had to be rewritten when the Bucks Music reels surfaced. Also, Tony's repeated remark that they went off to Switzerland the day after recording (most of) the album only makes sense if it was recorded in November rather than October. See Martin Popoff's "Black Sabbath FAQ" for further details.
@@glitterforall9865 I have a feeling history will continue to be Rewritten with every book about those early Sabbath recordings!
aww i was 11 months old...
