**bahahah** you’re killing me with the add ins! Hope you like the simple cucumber dish! 🤤 thanks so much for the love!!
I like anything with goat cheese 😍
You two need to do a colab. Two of my favorite you tubers
Love both you guys so much 🥰🥰🥰

We started buying spiral sliced ham for sandwiches instead of deli ham. $1.49 a pound(or less on sale!) versus $10.99lb and we get slices, chunks for soup, and a ham bone out of it. Definitely worth it
Yes!
And tastier!
I love ham, I love making crockpot beans with the bone of ham but my partner hates ham so it'd be a waste to buy it for my family. It's so good though
Oh man that is brilliant! Why didnt i think of that? Thank you for sharing, i will def be trying that.
Oh, I love this idea! Totally using it!
I once noticed a poor lady in front of me. She had a very large pork roast, a bag of potatoes and a bag of carrots. It was actually a lot of food for under $10. I was impressed! I don’t eat pork, but it gave me inspiration to tighten up the budget!
Why would you assume she was poor?
Following for "what makes you think she was poor" update. 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
@@MaryTheresa1986 I doubt she'll actually respond 💀
@@sierrabird2460 Yeah, probably not. *shrugs* Want some popcorn? 😁😁
Hmm, to be honest I can’t remember. What I remember most was her impressive haul. Good question! I realize I could have made a faulty assumption about her. We’re all making assumptions everyday whether we like it or not, but cool if you to point that out as I could always use an opportunity to challenge what I think I know. And if nothing else you might have a part in keeping me from turning into my mother-in-law. And for THAT, I thank you!
I love seeing you teach your children to cook. When I had our daughter at home she cooked one meal a week at around 14. I did have her look at the weekly adds to purchase items that we could us for dinners she would enjoy and cook them. It’s made adult life so much easier for her.
My 14 son wants to be a chef he cooks most of our meals bc he loves it so much
I do the same thing at the grocery store…”what is everyone else buying for food?” I love watching your grocery hauls! It’s such a great way for me to try new recipes.
Yes!
I spend almost 400 and I only feed 2 kids during the day whom I babysit and 2 elderly people I fix supper for about 4 times a week so I dont feel I do very good for that. Prices are way more than I use to spend which was about 280.00 per month. I think you did real well.
It's funny, because you see someone else's cart and think, well that person lives alone. Not to do with groceries, but my mother was a hoot. She told me you could tell how many kids your new neighbors have by the shape of her undergarments on the line (we were a military family). Pretty accurate too. Women with 4 kids didn't have fancy lingerie. 🤣
I would like lemon ice ☕ 🙏
👍great haul
8:55 I audibly said, "Whaaaat?" When Christine said the three dozen was a dollar fifty. Never thought I would say that I may have egg envy lol
Same!!! Eggs in my area are 1.89 for 1.5 dozen and that's the cheapest ones they have
Same...I just paid $5.25 for one package of 3 dozen eggs today at Walmart.
Same. I'm in Canada and a great sale on eggs is $2.99/dozen. Even at Costco, the pack of 60 eggs is just under $16.
Hi Christine. I would love to see the once a month grocery haul with the budget tally. Personally, I think $437 for the month of January for a family of 6 is excellent! Love to see you're getting your kids involved with the meals, too. It will serve them so well! They should build a family favourites recipe book along the way tailored to each of their preferences/faves.
I would like the lemon ice tea😉
But the truth is that you can see that probably a quarter of the ingredients she already had in her stock pile and she hasn’t factored in the price of the half of cow or the many many pounds of meat stash so I believe this is a little bit unrealistic. I personally would love to see a video where she’s not cooking out of two full freezers and a refrigerator plus $100 a week that she spending
Wendie she has done those. She has even replicated the boxes given out to people in need to show how to make the most of them. I think the point is buy cheap and stock up so you can shop your freezer and pantry to keep monthly spending low.
@@wendoxia I have to agree with Robin. This is how I roll, too. I keep a stocked pantry, stocked freezer, and grocery shop twice per month and rarely need to run to the store in between. I meal plan, use up what I have and keep it rolling. With prices being what they are now (at least I know they've gone up in Canada) I find it very realistic for a family of six. Christine did a great video long ago about creating a starter pantry for students just starting out and compared from Walmart and Dollar Tree. It was really great. If you dont already work from a pantry/stocked freezer that would be a great place to start. There are also great older videos where Christine only cooked what she shopped with on a tight budget.
She's also stocking and replenishing with what she spent as well. That's how the game is played.
It is HARD to budget for groceries right now with these price increases! I have 2 teen boys, one of whom grew an inch since last month, so.... THANK YOU for your channel! :)
Bless you! I raised 4 boys. All athletes. I called them “stomachs who walked”..They inhaled food. I often thought I had a plaque in a dairy somewhere recognizing the amount of milk I bought weekly. Gallons!
My kids are preteens and growing like weeds too. I have resorted to stocking hundreds of Kind bars and GF protein granola bars (all from Costco) that my girls can bring to school or leave in their sport bags as snacks. During softball season, and especially at all day tournaments, we as a family of 4 can go through 40 bars in a weekend.
@@donnitacoble3952 Speak for yourself. Everyone has different needs, situations, and location pricing plays a role too.
This was so interesting! I notice that if I'm being super careful about utilizing my pantry/freezer JUST our food can cost as little as $30-50 a week for just my husband and I. HOWEVER... I've also noticed that since I started doing CZcams videos I've been buying a lot more "recipe" ingredients which has definitely increased our food budget over the last several months. I can't emphasize enough how important it is for people on a budget to shop their pantry/fridge/freezer FIRST when making a weekly meal plan. You do an awesome job keeping yours stocked and your budget really does show that!! Awesome video as always!!
My mom also had us each cook a night. As a result, my brother and I are both excellent home cooks. A great life skill!
Love your haul. When I was a struggling single mom, making too much to get food assistance, and no child support, I often had just $20 for groceries a week With two teens (stomachs that walked)I learned the time of day my two local grocery stores marked things down, I learned to freeze milk, and always had fresh fruit and veggies. Lots of trimming, and lots of banana bread…lol. I also shopped at the bread discount store. On Wednesdays they sold garbage bags filled with everything imaginable. It was sold for chicken feed. No, REAL chickens! But was fine for peeps (can’t help myself). Once a month I would buy 2 for $6. And store in my freezer. Never heard of the teas, but I love peach tea! Would love to try!
I've lived your life too. Two children, deadbeat dad after we divorced, no help, no child support but I did it all, worked for a pretty low wage but apparently too much for most assistance which I wouldn't take unless I had to anyhow. No other parent to help in any way, it was me 24/7 and work on top of it. I love her frugal tips here but I already know how to make a dollar stretch in a food budget just as you do but times change and prices too so I watch for that reason and she is fun and does a variety of shows.
I don't think I need to say more other than to say I know how hard it is with like a $20 grocery budget for a family (and that's even having to cut other bills at times or go without something else to even have $20). Two children as well. Kudos to you. You made it through. So did I.
@@venusgal2706 LOL my daughter says I was so tight with cash she could hear George and Abe screaming.
@@CallmeGNana 🤣🤣
Wait garbage bags filled with only bread?
@@sams517 Yes! It was a bread discount store. When the discount bread reached the “sell by” date it had to be pulled from the shelves for sale for human consumption, The bags would have bread (sliced white, wheat, rye, etc,) it was past the sell by date but we all know how long a loaf of bread is edible if stored properly (never lasts that long in my house) I . Rolls, single package pastries, etc. it was sold for animal food, and called chicken feed”. Rarely breads might be stale but I used it for toast, croutons, bread crumbs or I found wrapping stale bread in a damp paper towel in the microwave for a few seconds could revive it (if I absolutely had to have a soft slice, there’s always one picky kid who won’t eat PBJ on toast…LOL). It was A LOT of bread. Some months it was more than I could store so I shared it with other folks. I still go once in a while, usually around the holidays when I know I will be making recipes that need dry bread (stuffing, dressing, bread pudding, etc)
I buy the bone in ham,cut it up different ways and freeze.
The ones cut in thicker slices, I brown in a pan with a tiny bit of oil and serve with rice and beans that my kids love.
Love your tips!
Please do this every month! I'd love to see how you do with utilizing your pantry and freezer all year long and how that impacts your grocery budget!
First of all, I’d love to try the Lemon ice tea.
When 16-Year-old me worked at a grocery store as a “bag lady”, I was bringing things home for my mother to try that I discovered when I was bagging other’s groceries. Some were winners; many were duds😉
21:27 " Two heads of flour" 😂😂😂 Omg cracking up lol 😆
AHHH!!! So excited for grocery hauls!!! Yeah...I look at the grocery carts around me when in the checkout line and usually I'm thinking,, Dang! That looks good...why didn't I get that??! It saves me money to look at other carts in the line vs throughout the store because I'm not getting back out of the line to go grab something I don't need, lol!
I've been eating a lot of soup and right before this video, I was literally taking about and planning the soups I was going to make for next week! The creamy white bean and sage soup sounds divine.
I could set and watch you all day, everyday. You have so much energy and look very happy. I love get clearance items due to you. My family said, wow you are doing good at saving money. So, thank you so much.
"I either succeeded or learned something" LOVE IT! $437 is awesome for a family of 6! Thanks for all the inspiration and laughs along the way!!
I think you did amazing! It is more important to teach your kids life skills than to stick to a strict budget.
Great haul!! The coconut date bread sounds amazing. Would love to have that recipe 😋 Wish I had kids at home to take turns cooking.
I think you did GREAT with the budget. I love this and would like to see this again.
I always make my 9 year old watch your channel - he loves watching your kids' comments. Thank you for 'normalizing' budgeting and shopping the clearance aisle. I did a no-spend January except for $20/week for essentials to a meal, and did well. My son thought it was impossible. Your videos helped my case.
Another good video, as usual. I like your vids because you emphasize real life. You do what we’re all doing - walking around the store to see if we can find something on sale or clearance. Can’t wait for part two of Pioneer Woman’s top ten recipes.
Lol 😂 I always check out others carts and I’m hooked to the grocery hauls! Lol I love the lemon tea mixes! They help me get my water in! 🥰😘 Can’t wait to see the boys meals!!! Hope you share them! 😘😊
Yes the prices are going crazy in my area and yes again on the lack of stock in the store. I never thought it could be like this and it sucks 😔
Your boys learned stuff this month for sure. You did great! I’ve been challenged to eat out of our freezer, just the 2 of us tho, so we have leftovers a lot! I make soups/stews eat on for a couple days & then freeze the rest for those days when I don’t want to cook. Thx for your ideas! Blessings! 🤗💞
Me sitting here eating green olives with a fork from a 15oz jar while watching this..
I do love that you're teaching your children basic life skills earlier in life and actually ask them what they want to eat each week/month. With my oldest we used to look at food magazines from the library and have him pick out meals by photos. I am looking forward to when my 1 year old is able to help pick what's for dinner once he's a bigger toddler. As of now watching him eat the random things has been entertaining to say the least.
Thanks for another great video!
It was neat to see you try delivery. I’m an independent contractor - Instacart shopper and it has been so challenging because stores are out of different types of items all the time! Higher Prices and shortages are definitely challenging but most people seem to be understanding.
Thank you for tipping your shopper! Over half of our income comes from tips. So that was definitely great to hear you tipped and said it out loud in your video.
You can leave notes about specific items that you’d like your shopper to pay extra attention to such as that cauliflower. You can note that you’d like one but if small please get two.
Anyway thanks again. Love your content.
girl you get my thumbs up everytime, and I guess were all nosy because I love these videos!
Hello my fellow nosy person! That's the only reason I watch grocery hauls. 😂😂
I love that you have your kids picking out a recipe and making it themselves! I wish my mom had done that for me - I think it would have really helped me when I moved out on my own!
I loved this type of video! Your add ins are hilarious!! I enjoy watching your content so much, and I’ve learned new recipes that my family enjoys very much! Can’t wait to see the kiddos whip up a meal!!
Also, Kim is one of my favorite human beings on the planet. LOVE her.
I love these videos. My family of 4 spends approximately $550/month on groceries and $80-100 on restaurants. We live in NS, Canada and according to most locals, I'm ridiculous for keeping our budget that low. The average local family spends close to $800/month on groceries and $200+ on restaurants/coffee according to a recent poll.
That's crazy lol I spend £160 a month on food
- I don't track takeaways or eating out but try to keep it to a minimum ish cos I love food lok
Your cost for the month of January is AMAZING! Helps you have a stock of other foods. We are a family of 3, and spend more than $400 per month, every month - more like $550 and it's much more than that now. You did great and give some great options and suggestions!!
Great haul, Christine! I absolutely adore lemon iced tea in general, so those pops sound amazing!!!
Have the kids do a pantry meal challenge. No grocery shopping for items. Just like all of us pantry shoppers interesting meals do happen.
The price of beef has kept me from buying any at all anymore, and I really miss it. But I have grown a ton of vegetables in my garden so that's helped a lot as far as keeping to our budget. 😊 Also, I wanted to tell you that I've bought the bagged broccoli from Kroger many times...I like it a lot. We prefer the Kikkoman brand of teriyaki, but haven't tried the brand you had. 😊
Love your "Haul" videos, and would love to try the tea! ❤️
I really like your approach to budget. You do your best to stick to a budget, but if you don't it isn't the end of the world. You look at like a learning experience. I love this!
My fiancé is a butcher and they ended up marking down leftover spiral hams to 99 cents to move them. I immediately had him claim 4 and split them between us, his parents and my parents. I took ours and split it up into small freezer bags for weeks of quick entrees since he doesn’t eat pork
I love that your kiddos are picking and cooking their own meals, super cool!
I like watching grocery hauls and meal plans from different families, I find it very interesting. I would love to try the lemon iced teas. Super sweet of you to pass them on to a viewer 🤘
The Potatoes O'Brien are good to make potato soup also.
This is why I love your videos! As a stay at home mom, one income, feeding a family of 5 is tough sometimes. Even though my twins are 5 and my daughter is 2, they go through so many fruits and veggies. Last week we went through 9 lbs of apples and 10 lbs of bananas.
So happy when you mention Kim's channel (The Wads) .... that definitely put a little happy on my day ❤ you too are my favorite YT creators 😊
Oh my! I wish my boyfriend’s mom had done this to him as a kid; taught him how to cook at least the basic because now… 🤦🏻♀️
I love your clearance/haul videos, you’ve opened my eyes to finding deals I never saw before. Like the chicken quarters! And I’ve started planning meals around clearance meat I find. I’m definitely paying more attention to my grocery spending.
Those potatoe bags are an excellent idea! I been following for tips and they been saving me so much! Thanks for your content.
When my boys were teens, they each got assigned a day of the week to make dinner. Sometimes I was hesitant to eat what they came up with, but in the end, they all learned to cook and no family members were lost in the process. :)
I would like the lemon iced tea!! Thanks Christine!! Love the shopping hauls!
I usually end up spending about $500 for my family of 4, with quarterly "stock up" shopping trips. We are a gluten & nut free household, and have dairy allergies as well. Shopping for the substitutes can be tricky, especially with different dairy free preferences. I am so impressed you are willing to undertake the challenge of providing a meal for your friends with food allergies. It's hard!
Love this! I could watch hauls all day! 💜
Loved this month long view at all the shopping trips! I already record how much I spend in a month on food, but I think taking a look at what I actually bought would be good too!
I totally check out other peoples items. The other day the gentlemen in front of me had 4 hungry man TV dinners, a two litre bottle of pop, a two pack of cinnamon buns and a bottle of omega vitamins. I thought it was hysterical and actually chuckled out loud. Thank god for the vitamins!!!
Lol you never know, he could have 1 cheat day a week. 😉
@@stacyf1354 Absolutely!! If it was just the food I wouldn’t have thought twice about it it was just the combo that made me giggle. :)
I LOVE lemon ice tea outside working in my pineapple garden here in sunny Florida 🌞. I will use them well if you send them to me. @Frugal Fit Mom. So glad that you bring your children into the kitchen meal prep process. In my household, whoever doesnt cook or prep is in charge of clean up. Meals need to be a family activity. And congrats on 400K subscribers 🎉🎉🎉WOW!!!
I’d love the zip fizz!!! 😍 That shelf stable bread is SO GOOD!
I’m super nosey and proud, so I love these grocery haul videos! Lol
I’d love the lemon iced tea zip fizz! Really enjoy watching these videos, thanks for putting them together!
Another great video, Christine! You are so good at this “CZcams” thing!!! 👏👏
I love these whole month grocery haul videos! 👏
I think you did an amazing job on your January food budget!!!! Everything has gotten so darn expensive!!!! Keep it coming sweetie 😀
Loved this video AND I LOVE clearance shopping. I'm from and live in Texas. I grew up with my very frugal father calling it "used" in the spirit of used book store finds: used meat section, used bread store, etc. My girls have thus grown up calling it that, too! We get odd looks when we talk about our grocery store scores.
I liked the month at a time haul from you. Love a grocery haul when cooking follows. We also tried W+ home delivery for free! It was convenient to add additional items later.
I only LOVE every haul IF you touch every single item! 🤣🤣 multiple times even... makes US feel like we are touching the good too. 🥳
That was a great example of planning and frugality you shared with the ham.
Yep. This was an interesting and fun video. Yes, my food budget has gone up. Our main grocery store, Publix, is experiencing many shortages at this time and have been since around Thanksgiving. But our Dollar Trees AND our local Target , that does have a HUGE food section , r very well stocked w an excellent variety of choices. Higher prices on some things at Target but they also have their store brand too that is generally cheaper.
My two year old was so invested in this video 😆 you had him on the edge of his seat
I am always amazed at your grocery haul videos. It's just me, and I spend more than what you spend at the store in a month. I have a well-stocked pantry and freezer as well. Fresh produce and fruit is so expensive - well, groceries period are so expensive in my area - we have no competition. I can't believe your prices!
I would love the lemon ice tea down here in Georgia. So excited for this grocery hall. Love seeing what other people buy also.
What's better than a little Kimberly whisk thrown into your video...combo of two of my favorite youtubers!
Love this video idea! I also am weirdly obsessed with grocery hauls so the more the better for me lol
“I like it a lot” bahaha you had me rolling 🤣 love your sense of humor 🙌🏻
Always a fun watch!
We live in the Bay Area of California, and grocery prices are 20-25% higher than a year or so ago.
We are fortunate to be able to buy what we need, but so many people who were struggling before this darn pandemic are in dire straits, now.
Loved seeing the entire month in one video!!
Hi Christine! Sorry I'm late for this particular party but I wanted you to know how awesome I think you are! You are great as a channel hostess but your Hubby, Mom and Kids add that extra spice that keeps me coming back and binging on videos I may have missed. Please keep up the varied material!!! Where I have gotten some fantastic recipes from you, I have also TRULY enjoyed your huge hauls, meal preps, road trips, exercise/dietary and all your other shared activities. Though you may not understand our interest in your hauls, property painting, etc... it comes primarily from seeing how other people live, shop, clean house or even make their beds. Do you do it all differently? Have a better system? Can you teach me how to shop smarter? For me? YES! Your attitude, humor, pride and willingness to video all of this for us, is what brings us back to you and will continue to do so in the near and distant future! Sorry for all the hot air... Just thought you should know at least THIS fan's opinion. Have an awesome weekend and a fantastic week! 🥳 Toot your own horn lady!!! You deserve it!!! 🤩💚👸💚🤩
Binge watching your grocery hauls to get prepared for next year! Thank you.
I loved how you had all your monthly shopping trips in one video with the tally. 🙂🙂
Love all your videos!
I feed 8 of us so I'm constantly looking for meals that will feed all of us! I gotta stretch that dollar!! Thank you for these!
Thank you for teaching your boys to cook. My brother never understood the time/energy it took to make a good dinner. He'd come home to a meal and 2 sides and say "that's all you did while I was gone for three hours?" Well ya, prep, cook, cleaning takes a while. Later his wife was sick for a while and couldn't cook for a while and I think then he understood.. hard lesson to learn later!
I know you ask if people want to see more of these kinds of videos and I’m over here just loving any and all of your content. You literally can do no wrong.
I just discovered your channel this morning, and I think you're such a delight!!❤
I really like this format of seeing the entire month in one video. I think you should go for it and continue to clear out the pantry.
That was amazing I always love your videos. I can not wait to see what you come out with next. Thank you for always bringing great content
Yes, I love the hauls! You're the Inspiration!😊
I have learned to look for the sales items from you. This month I’ve only bought milk, eggs and onions to supplement my freezer/pantry. Love cooking this way.
Love the Wads as well! She is just so funny and finds the best brownies
I like seeing an entire month of grocery hauls in one video😊
I have had convid and your channel has been keeping my mind busy and loving ideas
I would love to try the lemon ice tea! Love your channel! We are a large family as well, love seeing your grocery hauls!
My three year old has no idea what CZcamsrs mean by “give me a thumbs up”. Whenever she hears it she gives a literal thumbs up! 👍
Headed out grocery shopping today. This just inspired me to add in some healthier options ! Lemon ice tea is a family favorite here. 🙃
I would love to try the lemon iced tea! I’ve been curious about those and haven’t been ready to pull the trigger. ❤️ your channel, fond appreciation for frugality!!👋👋👋
I took inspiration from your idea to have your kids make a dinner. I am having my 13 year old daughter do this. I taught her how to make French dips the other night. Thanks for the idea. She loves it.
Love your videos Christine! I'm always learning from you :) would love the lemon ice tea zipfizz drink that you mention too! I've been watching your videos since the start of the pandemic and I always look forward to your next one. You have such a great personality and congratulations on your success.
I love Kim!! You, Kim, Jamerrill, and HeyitsJuliana are my favorites and I make sure to watch every video/vlog.
Peach yogurt rules! We spend so much at Costco but we only go every 6 to 8 weeks because it’s so far from us but it still makes me cringe!
Loved the month long hauls!
What a great video. Our prices have skyrocketed and the quality isn’t there so it’s been difficult but I love videos like this because it helps with new ideas.
I would drink the lemon iced tea! I live in a town with a single grocery store and no discount stores. As the grocery store is having random shortages it has made my cooking more creative because I have the only one shop to find groceries:)
Our grocery budget has stayed the same $300/month for years and it still feels like we have plenty.
I don't remember the last time I bought ground beef because it's pricey and ground turkey works just fine. I've also been buying turkey breakfast sausage because it costs way less and also tastes fine!
I'm excited to get into gardening; we live in Texas so fresh herbs year round could be possible!
Thank you for your videos!!
I always have a great time hanging out with you, ty for all your videos
Love watching your frugal videos and learning from you! I'd love the lemon ice tea fizz!
Are u kidding me?? U did AMAZING! Lol I need to keep watching so u can teach me ur ways! Love the deals u found
