- Restored NASA 1968 documentary about Frank Borman, in the context of preparations for the Apollo 8 mission. His career is shown, with a focus on training and the Gemini 7 mission. Footage from press conferences is shown.
The original colors were faded. Here they were balanced for neutral tones. AI upscale (Topaz AI) was used to resample the film to HD resolution. While it works in most cases, some artifacts are present in some sequences.
To prevent any issues, the original music was removed and replaced with generic themes or ambient sound.
Sound and image cleanup, conversion to original 24 fps frame rate, geometry correction and AI upscale and color restoration by RetroSpace HD.

RIP Astronaut Frank Borman.
Terrific!! Another fine job, and a service to history…and Frank Borman.
Retro Space HD thank you very much for this amazing video, congratulations.
Rest in peace dear Commander, thanks for take us to the Moon 👨🚀 🌕
The Apollo guys were my childhood superheroes. The kid in me still sees them as immortals - it is hard to believe when they pass on. RIP to true heroes.
Who is the narrator? Has that smooth 3 pack a day Chesterfield baritone
😂
An engineer's engineer. He saved the Apolo program and 1968.
I memory his words, 「"A skilled pilot executes excellent maneuvering to navigate through situations that demand exceptional technical expertise."」
Frank said all that without moving his lips.
