Congrats to your wife and daughters book. Frame and mounts lookin good.
Thanks Jim. Much appreciated.
That’s cool. I’m a 55’ Chevy guy and a cat guy so I can appreciate that. Nice job.
Moose says thanks...
So awesome for your wife and daughter to have a book published. The frame is looking great. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Greg. I appreciate that!
Thanks for the update and Congratulations 🎊 to your wife and Daughter on the Book. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours
Thanks man. They put a lot of effort into that book, so I hope they can sell a few. I think it's kinda like CZcams, the more people that look at the book, the more people they show it to, so I appreciate anyone who at least clicks the link and checks it out. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving as well. 👊
Yep congrats on the book that's cool, I was going oh know don't grid on that frame it look too good, but it turned out great.
Thanks Lonnie. Yep, just one little grinder mishap, other than that all good.
Awesome never Done that , and I’m just about to remove stock Trans frame mounts , and then install these mounts . The crossmember video is also something I’ve never done
Nice. Good luck with the project. I ended up switching these mounts out for stock location mounts. These mounts created other issues, and the "stock location" ones still moved my engine slightly forward of where it actually was with the stock mounts, giving me plenty of room for the dizzy, which is what I was worried about. Thanks for watching!
It's coming along.
Thanks! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Congrats to your daughter and wife (and Moose) on the book! The frame looks great, I wouldn't worry about the bolts too much if you torque them down, but what do I know? Look forward to more on the build.
Tanks Dan. I appreciate you watching and offering up the feedback. 👊
Congratulations to your wife on the children’s book. I will go check it out and yes it is a lot of work my wife has written 10 children books. I would use the flange bolts on motor mount. HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🦃🍽 to you and your family I hope it was a great one. Stay safe 👍😎✌️
So cool your wife has written some children's books too. My wife hopes to do more if this one does ok. Thanks for the input on the bolts as well, and Happy Thanksgiving!
10 books. Congrats to your wife. What a huge accomplishment!
good choice on bolts, you could test fit the engine you have on the stand also. goods luck with the book.
Thanks! The engine on the stand is the one going in the car. I'm just not planning on test fitting it until I have the front suspension bolted on.
Glasses....muffs....gloves.....still no guard on the grinder! 🤣
Well done on the book. They should write a book about Moose and his tri5 workshop!
3 out of 4 ain't bad, right? There may be some hot rod type books in the future.
@@MontanaGarage hot rod books will be great! So long as you still have fingers to flip the pages! 🤣🤣🤣
Stay safe mate! 👍
Happy Thanksgiving to the Montana Garage
Thanks Lester. I appreciate that man. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
Great idea on the book. I would have followed those boys to the secret Elk hunting area. Hopefully , you will get your front end parts soon and make a roller.
Thanks Randy. Yeah my wife and daughter wrote a cool book. I shoulda followed them for sure. Trey told me where the secret spot is though... The remaining front end parts are "supposed" to ship next week. Hope it happens this time.
Really looking good with the work on your frame. I think you’re going to be more than fine on the motor mounts with just bolting them in and using loctite. Congrats to your wife and daughter on the book too. I’ll have to check it out, may make a great gift too. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks man. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Looking forward to your vids!
Great vid. I bolted my mounts in and I am not worried about them coming loose, The Trans mount is the same one I used. I welded my side brackets on after listening to everyone else. Unfortunately, I changed directions on the transmission and now I have to cut them off. When I move them, I will be bolting them as well. Looking forward to you getting frontend parts in so you can make the frame a roller and mate up the body to the frame. That will give you such satisfaction as you can see the rewards from all your labor and ... More Room! HaHa Keep Mobbin ......
Thanks Terry. Yeah, more room will be nice for sure. I just got the email that the remaining front end parts have shipped! Hopefully I'll be able to throw it all together next week.
Enjoyed the video. I grabbed up a copy of "Henry Finds his Groove" for my 5 month old. I'm sure baby Leland will enjoy.
Thank you so much Lloyd. I appreciate you watching my videos, and really appreciate you supporting my wife and daughter's book. That is awesome, and I am certain your kiddo will enjoy the book. Don't forget to send me your address to montanagarage55@gmail.com and I'll get some stickers headed your way!
Thanks for the support. I hope baby Leland likes it!
Congrats on the book!!!
Happy Bird day!
Thanks Howard. Happy Bird Day to you as well.
Geez, your such a clean freak and not like the Dan of DD speed shop !! That guy drives me batty with his messy shop and wonder how he doesn't get hurt. Ed/A
Thanks. I try to keep the place at least a little clean, but it is easy to make a mess, that's for sure. I appreciate you watching.
While rewatching this I saw your intro about Henry finding his grove and if it doesn't go right try again. Made me think of your firewall. Take a cue from Henry. LOL 😆
Haha that's funny Brad. Oh, I've learned from Henry and have been trying. I just got done with try number six! Stay tuned to see if it ends as well as my wife's kids book, or if it is more of a neverending horror story. Thanks for watching!
Great Stuff on the new book, happy moose is in it. I have my mounts bolted in only in my 57 and its no slouch. My opinion you don't need to weld them. As for the lock flange bolts I would probably use Loctite. Using the bolts with the lock washers is doing the same thing as using the lock flange bolts and you would be using Loctite on them. Don't feel bad about you son as I felt like that when my son did that to me, but that's just growing up. Wait till they decide to leave home that's when it gets tough
Thanks John. I'll probably Loctite them once I know all is good and the engine is installed. I hear you about the kids leaving home. I've already had one leave, and it is tough. I'm sure it'll be harder with Trey as then we'll be empty nesters.
Nice work on the engine mounts. We're at -11C with snow today. Winter is here to stay I think. Great news about the book. Will definitely check it out for the 7 grandkids. Here's hoping the parts show up soon and you can get it back on the ground and keep moving forward. Be safe and stay well.
Thanks Brian. Much appreciated as ways. 👊
Thanks Brian for the kind words. It was pretty rewarding working on the book with my daughter.
@@tawnyamorgan7831 You're more then welcome. I worked with my 4 kids on various projects when they were younger and it was always rewarding, successful or not. Question for you....What's the reading level of your book? We have 7 grandkids from age 3 to 11.....4 girls(2 are 7 year old twins) and 3 boys. They all live within 20 minutes of us so it's always crazy around our place. Be safe and stay well.
@@briankinnear7461 The book is for kids 3-10. Pretty simple story line, with repeat words throughout. 7 grandkids! I bet that is pretty fun!
@@tawnyamorgan7831 Fantastic. Ordered 2 books. Our son and his 3 girls live with us and our daughter has 1 girl and 3 boys. So one book for each household. Our youngest daughter is quite content being auntie to 7 nieces and nephews for the time being. Look forward to reading the books with the grandkids. Be safe and stay well.
Congratulations to your wife and daughter on the book, who makes those engine mounts, do they come as a kit with transmission cross member ?
Thanks man. The book is still available on Amazon, and there should be a link in the video description if you're interested. The engine mounts are from CPP and I purchased them from Summit. I don't think I've seen them in a kit with the crossmember.
Need a cartoon sticker with Moose driving the 55 lol
That'd be cool for sure. Thanks for watching.
I believe the proper term for that tool is alignment intensier. Use it all the time.
Alignment intensifier
Are you referring to the step bit? Definitely helps with alignment. Thanks for watching.
I have bought (3) floater rear ends from Quick Performance for some of my race cars. All housings and axles were custom lengths and were delivered exactly as ordered. So, you can order with confidence from them.
Thanks for the info Gary. I've heard nothing but good stuff about QP so will definitely go with them if I can swing it price wise. Thanks for watching!
an puts his motor in and welds the front prt in place. LOL
Yep, that is what I was referring to. Thanks for watching.
Moose always steals the show. And now he is in a book. Cool!
Don't tell anyone but cows are girls and Henry is a boys name. ;) Then again, these days anything goes.
Thanks for watching. It's a kids book, and kids probably wouldn't get Henry the steer. Easier to relate as most young kids just call 'em cows whether it's a boy or girl.
I know, Brad. Just yankin' yer chain.
I think it's cool.
Haha Joe. Believe me, this was a topic of conversation when writing the book. I thought I was overthinking it, but now I’m thinking I wasn’t. Let’s just keep this between us, ok? 🐮 🤫
Shhhh. Mom's the words. Or should I say.. Moo's the word. ;)
Congrats on the book. :)
Self locking bolt sounds like the way to go for your application, where are you buying your bolts . Trying to figure out where people buy there replacement bolts.
Thanks Lester. Unless they are something special like flywheel bolts etc. then just get most of my stuff from our local hardware store.
Thanks for input, reason I ask . I am going to be rebuilding my A arms on my 57 Chevy, replacing spring and bushing along with ball joints. I noticed people replacing bolts where A arm is attached to frame.
killer vid brad
Thanks Kregg. I appreciate that buddy. 👊
Hey, I see your book on amazon. I'll recommend this for someone looking for a children's book. So to keep trying things when you fail? You mean like.... Fitech? :-D ... Happy thanksgiving!
Thanks man I really appreciate that. Yep, sometimes you gotta just keep trying... 👊
Well now I wanna see the motor in there lol
Hopefully soonish...
I tapped out at 4 minutes
I appreciate you giving me a chance.
The 9" would be nice, but I would wait til the body is back on the frame to measure for wheel back space and width so you can order the rear the exact width that you want.
Yeah that would be smart probably. There is an online calculator that you can use to figure it out, so I "think" I know how long I want it. I'll do some double checking before I bite the bullet for sure. Thanks for the tip.
@@MontanaGarage I like a deep dish on the rear wheels. My 57 that I did in 2001, I used a 10" wheel with a 3.5" rear space. Measured the distance between the two and narrowed the 12 bolt to that measurement. Gave me the look I was after. Your 55 is gonna be killer...
@@musclecarmaniacs9789 Thanks man. I too want a deeper wheel, which is one of the reasons I want to just bite the bullet and get the narrowed rear end before I get new wheels.
I’m with you just go for see what happens lol
I figured might as well go for it.
Cool. Why don't you insulate your gradge. I though it was cold in Montana. And sell the old rearend to a purest. Take that money and apply it to the 9 inch. Sir.
It is cold in Montana. I was hoping to get the shop insulated over the summer, but it didn't happen. Maybe one of these days I'll get tired of being cold and get it done. I'll definitely try and sell the OG rearend if I purchase a 9 inch. Thanks for watching.
What brand are the motor mounts? I like the way they install compared to others.
CPP mounts. I eventually changed to the stock location mounts. They were also from CPP and a very similar design. Thanks for watching!
Why did u change from 3/4 forward back to stock?@@MontanaGarage
@@jesseparadis6141 I put the 3/4 forward mounts in because my distributer was always right against the firewall in the past. Once I got the body on the dizzy was like 2 inches away from the firewall. I switched back to stock position as I figured 3/4 forward was going to cause other issues with radiator, etc. Even with stock location mounts my dizzy is further away from the firewall than it really was with stock mounts.
What brand mounts are they? Are they stock location?
The mounts are from CPP and they moved the engine 3/4 inch forward. I have since switched them for CPP mounts that put the engine back in the original position because I realized I didn't need it moved forward and that caused a few other issues. Thanks for watching.
Do the 9in!
So tempting, and definitely needed, but still haven't pulled the trigger. I probably will soon, I think, maybe...
It was weird how warm it was today huh?
Yes, looks like it's going to be a bit warmer than usual for a few days. Thanks for watching.
Yes sir. Always love seeing Montana people doing things. Especially car things lol.
I am a gearhead and a cat guy myself, I'll never get close to a cat again had one break my heart when it got hurt had to put it down
Sorry man. I've actually never really been a cat guy, but ole Moose here sure has grown on me. Thanks for following along.
do you have a 454 in delivery?
Hey Carmelo the engine in the delivery is a L-88 427.
why not dril heads off w/ center drill?
I was going to drill but grinding seemed to be working, so just never tried the drill. Thanks for watching.
Wait tell the motor in then weld
I may do that if it seems like it needs it. Bolts should be fine though, don't you think?
"Motor Mounts", .... Harley Davidson never built Engine Cycles.
That's what I call 'em, too, but there's always gotta be the guys trying to "correct" you and say things like motors are electric blah blah blah.. Thanks for watching and commenting!
GETTING DITCHED BY YOUR OWN KIDS😮😮😮 NOT GOOD Brad😴
I know, right? Thanks for watching.
@@MontanaGarage 😁😂🤣
No reason to put any weld on the motor mounts waste of time
Thanks Dale. That's what I was thinking as well. It is good to get some confirmation. 👊
