    I found the video very useful! I did wash the bin filter, instead of brushing it, and let it dry for a couple days. I see a huge improvement but still a lower performance than when I bought the roomba 5 months ago: it used to finish cleaning in 1hr 15min without having to empty the bin. Now it takes nearly an hour and a half and it has to pause to recharge. I’d very much appreciate any comments.

    If the caster wheel is not freely spinning and has friction, you can actually remove that metal rod in the caster wheel. To remove the rod, push it with your finger and pull it out. That happened to my i7 and s9 and then put the rod back in. It will click into place.

    sadly I’ve done everything in this video multiple times after viewing my it on multiple occasions, we have the i3 plus and it just goes back on the base, charges but won’t always empty itself it eventually will if you spam home or clean to try to force it, but not always on its own, I’ve cleaned all the sensors on the roomba and the home base sensors, it’s a weekly thing here with this thing, why? Why isn’t the bin more sealed so dust doesn’t get on the bin sensors? We unplugged the home base for a bit as roomba support suggests that as well still doesn’t like to self empty every time like it should, I hit roomba support up about this issue and a battery life issue and they replied “To prevent your roomba from getting stuck and draining the battery we advise you to get these no zone block off sensors you can find them here”. They were helpful, not.

    The maintenance of these things make it even less worth buying. I own one and am not happy that after only a few uses the bin sensor is wonky. I can manually vacuum my home two times over in the amount of time it would take to do all of this maintenance.

  • @robinj6831
    @robinj6831 Před 2 lety

    Ugh. I did all this...replaced the filter as well. Still getting "empty the bin". I hate this thing. I can vacuum with my powerful Dyson Animal in the same time is takes me to mess around with a Roomba every time I use it. When it "does" work, I have gone behind it with my real vacuum and gotten twice as much dirt and hair out of the carpet immediately after the Roomba runs.

    These things are junk. I've had an s9+ for 3 months now and I think it's only completed a job successfully a couple times. It's like I need a second robot to perform all the maintenance on the first one. The thing constantly has connection issues, gives code 36 after it doesn't even attempt to evacuate the bin, loses the map, loses the cleanbase, and the app is horrible. I can't even access the map on my phone, have to use the wife's. If anyone's afraid of AI taking over, they should get a Roomba and realize the apocalypse is a long ways off.
