Greetings from the Philippines🇵🇭 Mabuhay! Love, and Peace everyone💞.
Yeah, this film proves that Filipinos are genuine, sincere, hospitable, and friendly. To this date, we still have those traits. You can visit any home( poor and well off), even if they do not know you, the door will open and will invite you to come in, will feed you. We are as a nation are God-fearing people. I have been in some parts of the world, met people.. Nothing can compare the kindness of the people. What is amazing too, our Resiliency or the capacity to withstand any difficulties in life ( calamities, indigency, and or any unfortunate situation), we can afford to smile to people. A sincere smile to everyone. That is how and who we are.
    God bless everyone🙏🇵🇭💞

The Philippines has traditionally let refugees in throughout history, the Jews were just one of several persecuted people that sought refuge in the country. Among others are what were called the "White Russians" who came here twice during the Russian Socialist Revolution of 1917 and then the Chinese Revolution some 20 years apart. There were also the Spaniards fleeing their civil war in 1939. There were also the Chinese refugees who came before the second wave of Russian refugees. Next were the Jews which is what you just watched. Then there were the Vietnamese "Boat People" fleeing the Vietnam War in the 1970s. Then the Iranians fleeing the Iranian Revolution, also in the 1970s. Then the Indo-Chinese (Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos), all 400,000 of them during the 1980s-90s. Then there were the Timorese in the 2000s. Last, but not sure of what became of it, were the Rohingyan Boat People who fled Myanmar in 2015. So as you see, the PH has been doing this for a very, very long time.

there are a lot of things that aren't taught in school, even about our historical background. now that info can be found all around, these things about Filipinos being the helpful friend and a fierce enemy to anyone who threatens our freedom, now we know where we got our character, and that's from the same ancestors who lived the time that we were oppressed, invaded, attacked and abused, but still having a good heart to anyone of different skin color. If only we were able to defend our country centuries ago, we could have had our own identity as a nation, but as our own kindness and generosity to all visitors were, it paved the way for greed to get the best of our people, and had betrayed our own countrymen in the name of wealth and power, thus a big gap between rich and poor people.
It's a lesson in itself that we have already forgotten. Now, most of us face each day of trying to survive by working so much, but earning too little, yet society is choked by the neck to accept it as normal, which is really sad coz not all of us can do anything about it. But we know in ourselves as Filipinos, we haven't changed our ways with traits known by the world, but we needed to change too, so we could adapt to how the world works, and still find ways to live happily everyday.
