    Credit cards are safer in regards to fraud. Something that people don't think about very often.

      Banks have fraud protection too for debit cards……Credit cards are just as easy to get stolen and charged fraudulently.

      @@1977NOBODY Debit cards are linked to your bank account. Credit cards aren't. If someone gets your debit card, the damage, while fixable, can be much more devastating in the interim. Damage from credit card fraud can be isolated much easier.

    You should review the debit cards that earn you airline miles (truist delta and Hawaiian airlines bank of Hawaii?) As well as debit cards that earn points that can be transferred to airlines (there's gotta be at least one or two)

    My Wells Fargo Debit has a merchant style cash back set up as well just like Bank of America

      Same with US Bank.

    • @WAncouvOR
      @WAncouvOR Před 2 lety

      Chase Wells Fargo and Bank of America all have this. How are you enable this is you log into the app go to your card / bank account and tap + to add the reward to your card and nextime you spend at that merchant. If it qualifies, A few days later you get the percentage back automatically. It doesn't act like credit card cash back where you earn points. It's automatically redeemed for cash no matter what. The same you do for a credit card as well. For example recently I went to Jersey Mike's and got 15% cash back because I added the reward to my credit card. And it's one time use.

    Is cash back debit card subject to tax unlike points back which is not taxable?

    • @provero5
      @provero5 Před 2 lety

      Cashback that is dependent on you spending money like in a credit or debit purchase is considered a rebate/discount and not taxable. This is in contrast to say receiving $300 just for opening a checking account, which is taxable.

    Couldn’t you convert the stellar lumens to usdc then transfer to block fi and earn 9% per year?

    • @TheCreditShifu
      @TheCreditShifu  Před 2 lety

      Yes, so that is why i recommend it for someone who is into crypto only. There is a bit of a process to getting value out of it.

    • @berniebeast
      @berniebeast Před 2 lety

      u could literally just sell the stellar lumens. idk what is so complicated. "volatile" cryptos like XLM barely fluctuate up or down a couple percentages on a normal day. Even if the crypto flash crashes 75% (rarely happens) youre left 1% cashback which is what a normal debit card gives so i dont understand the volatility arguement

    • @TheCreditShifu
      @TheCreditShifu  Před 2 lety

      @@berniebeast yep, so if youre into crypto, and are willing to be active in transferring out from coinbase to blockfi etc that card is for you
