WELCOME TO UZBEKISTAN --- Yes, it really is among the cheapest countries in the world!! I am beyond excited to be back here for the second visit, but this time is better because I'm with my beautiful wife, Deanna (it's our 74th country together!). Uzbekistan is just a magical place inside and out, with some of the most stunning ancient wonders and lovely, down-to-earth people that will just make you smile. We just spent 5 days touring around the country, visiting the cities of Samarkand and Bukhara, which date back to before the ancient Silk Road - and it has been wonderful!
Join us on a wild & spontaneous trip across the ancient land where East meets West - and we will document & show you EXACTLY how much money we spend by doing normal tourist activities. I hope this video inspires you to visit Uzbekistan, I promise you won't be disappointed!

12:40 bro we in albania also call it pilaf. I think it derives from turkish and uzbek is a turkish language so it makes sense.
Hey drew. I'm your fan since the last decade. This video was so amazing. You've already convinced me to travel to Iran but now I'm also interested to go to Uzbekistan in the same trip. I've two questions: 1. How's the safety situation in Iran and Uzbekistan these days? 2. I will be traveling by bus from Pakistan to Iran so can I go towards Uzbekistan as well? Is the Iran Uzbekistan land border open?
@@AR_Channel12 yeah Uzbeks call it "Palov" and "Osh"

My husband’s family is Bukharian Jewish. I had never heard of the community until meeting him. Let me tell you, they are the most hospitable, generous, and close knit communities ever. With the best food! They haven’t been back to Uzbekistan for many decades but it’s amazing to see the synagogue and still thriving Jewish community you had the privilege to visit.
Awesome!
On my first trip to Uzbekistan in 2018, I was lucky to meet Bukharian Jewish community members of the synagogue who gave me a tour and run down of the history. Was brilliant and got a few photos for memories.
I have some Bukharian friends. They're addicted to kebabs/shashlik.
@@amirbeksobirov788 it’s crazy how little of us stayed in Uzbekistan to the point that todays locals don’t even remember us
@arielm6613 there are very few Jews left in moslem countries 😕

Two months ago, I visited Uzbekistan and Tadschikistan. One of my best trips so far. Amazing people, so safe there and awesome culture!
Tajikistan not that much as a woman, but yeah
As an Afghan it was so good to see our brothers and sisters in Uzbekistan.
Was in Uzbekistan last year and loved it. The Registan is spectacular and there is so much else to see and appreciate in the country. In two months time I go back to see Kyrgyzstan, Kazahkstan and Tajikistan. I have fallen in love with this underappreciated region.
I am from Uzbekistan. Welcome 🎉. You described our country very honestly. Thank you
You have introduced us to an incredible country in 31 minutes and 9 seconds this time, awesome!
Their bread are huge, but what's amazing is the way they go into the stove to put the bread!

Coincidently, I just came back from a work trip. I met an Iranian and told him about your video about Iran from last week. We had loooooong talk about all the beautifull Iranian places and history.

Greetings from Turkey to brother Uzbekistan ❤❤💙💙💚💚🤍🤍
I'm always in awe of the stunning Uzbek culture. Wherever Uzbeks are, there's this captivating oriental and ethnic vibe. Even in Osh (Kyrgyzstan), Turkestan, and Sairam in Kazakhstan (Uzbek cities before Soviets), you can sense that unique Uzbek atmosphere. This is said with deep respect for the Kazakhs and Kyrgyzs and their nomadic heritage.
I am from Uzbekistan and i`m happy if our country like to you . Our country is not as modern as US ,UK and others but in my opinion it is look like second Paradise

Hey Drew! As a Jew Myself who also loves to travel, it would be great if you specifically made a video outlining different Jewish cultures you have met throughout the world and how they differ from each other. Super interesting to see how Bukharian Jews live within Uzbekistan and would love a video comparing all the different Jewish presences throughout the world!

Thank you so much for this. Brought back a flood of memories from a 2 week visit to Uzbekistan back when it was still part of the Soviet Union, around 1989. I am so happy to see all the guys I loved seem to be intact, the people, the incredible food, the culture. I remember a long chat with an Inman at one of only 4 operating Muslim madrasas in the Soviet Union and his words to the effect that governments come and go, but the culture lives on. In Bukhara sitting in one of the main squares drinking hot tea in the summer at a chai-hana and being introduced to the wives of a local leader, who did his best to maintain calm when i beat him in their local version of backgammon :-) We met a young couple in the streets and they invited us to their wedding the next day. It was magicalas the celebrations went late into the night. Memories of the country still bring up goosebumps. I need to return! Thanks again for the reminder!
Thanks so much for sharing this! Jewlous that you went a long time ago!
