@@louiethered479 Tame then turned to questions about democracy. He wanted to find out whether she agreed with her Minister of Maori Affairs, Willie Jackson, who recently suggested that modern concepts of democracy are outdated. In Tame’s view, and to anyone with a serious interest in the democratic process, one person-one vote is democracy’s cornerstone and has been for a century or more. Tame asked her directly whether she accepted that the principle was endangered by co-governance arrangements that in effect give Maori three votes for every one enjoyed by other racial groups.
Jacinda found the question “overly simplistic”, whatever that meant. Reaching a consensus was more important. Floods of words couldn’t mask her discomfort. All she did was display that whatever else she has studied in life, it isn’t political science or history and that she has read almost nothing about democracy. As she talked over Tame, and quite often down to him, she oozed a smug certainty that her simple mind was on top of all issues.

Self-censorship reigns. The really tough questions are off limits. Regarding jabs, was the threatening of kiwis with job loss the right strategy, given that NZ along with other highly jabbed countries, have the highest infection rates? Was closing down the country for years on end the right strategy when other countries, which remained open, have done just fine. Why aren't the nurses and doctors that refused to be jabbed allowed to return to work with a sincere apology from the government for making them redundant in the first place? Was it a good idea to publicly admonish and discredit anyone who disagreed with the government? Isn’t that the antithesis of a liberal democracy.

But a bunch of fellow travellers decided that wasn't good enough and they could generate some popularity for their egos - Sue Gray, Leighton Baker and his former model daughter and various other idiots with agendas that would cause dissent.

Has any leader of New Zealand ever taken accountability? No I don’t think so. I would hate to be a leader of any country in the current state the world is in right now. It’s very easy to sit back and complain, I wouldn’t want that job that’s for sure. Maybe we all need to take some responsibility here! According to several economists and other financial experts, high consumer demand in the economy -- met with low supply -- is the main factor driving inflation. With increased consumer demand being the main driver of inflation, experts said there is not much the government can do to fight inflation, but they agree that the Reserve bank should raise interest rates. Time for us to stop spending so much money on crap.

@@KiwikimNZ even if no leader has ever taken responsibility, the criticism still stands. this govt is inept and fiscally irresponsible, they keep printing money and wonder why inflation is rising. It's not rocket science. There's more money in the system fighting for the same or fewer goods. MMT tries to deny that govt spending has an impact and yet real world data proves that wrong time and time again. They can start by not spraying money everywhere frivolously to try and "fix" this problem. you should be upset. Their actions erode your purchasing power. Essentially, they're stealing from you after having already taken taxes. Their "solutions" or "relief" only exacerbate the problem.
Then on top of that, they don't understand what democracy is or have such contempt for it that they don't care.

@@KiwikimNZ Nor should you need to be. there is a problem when those in power abuse the fact that most don't have the time in their lives to brush up on this stuff. They are elected based on their campaign policies by in large. When they don't fulfil them or enact policies in which were clearly premeditated with no indication to the general public, they abuse this trust you put in them with your vote. You also expect them to have competent people in charge of the roles they hold. I think the last couple of years has shown up the inadequacies in a lot of areas and the general contempt for kiwi's intelligence.

Disappointing answer Jacinda. Weak AF. Take ownership and inspire reforms. I’m very disappointed. Develop a publicly owned co op for local food production and distribution to reduce the cost of milk or bread. Start at roots level. Leverage the community centric aspect of New Zealanders to create models of consolidating local products and services.

People foolishly voted for you based on those aspirations, so indeed they do matter.
If you cant achieve them, don’t give people false promises just so you can be in power.
