I guess you'll not remember the big pitch by Ardern because of people living in cars? Well now it's even worse. Jacinda Ardern has become very unpopular in New Zealand, its obvious the Labour party has made her resign so they have time to rebrand/promote a new party leader prior to general elections October 2023. This same tactic is how Jacinda Ardern became Labour party leader prior to August 2017 general elections. Clearly demonstrates the party control is more important than the well being of New Zealand. I find it interesting that PM John Key resigned Dec 2016 prior to August 2017 elections, a very similar time line and reason why resigned.

I for one loved her for her realness, her no nonsense attitude and ability to talk to people on all levels. She may have made mistakes, but what political figure doesn’t. It’s a tough environment right now for any world leader and I do not think that any country around the world is celebrating political success, there is not one country that is not struggling with health care, employment or inflation issues. I will be sad to see her go. To those kiwis that have slammed her and ridiculed her, shame on you. She did the best she could I truly believe that. So what now New Zealand? It’s certainly slim pickings that’s for sure. There will be a disaster about to happen once our new leader comes into power, watch this space over the next two years, it will be then time to whinge and Moan as kiwis do about the next leader…… If only we knew just how good we have it in this country.

Putting that aside, I know the PM was working on a way to return returning kiwis pretty early on in covid! I think logistics just needed time. We were in a national health crisis. I'm incredibly sad for those people who suffered due to the pandemic, but please keep in mind that the kiwi tax payer funded all the hotel bills etc, so citizens could quarantine/ return to a relatively covid free country.
