Love this because the Ancient One was easily one of the most powerful beings on the planet at the time. Yet in her final moments, she shares not the secrets of the universe, locations of hidden immense power. Instead, she shares the most human lessons of life. So in turn, Ancient one has to side with death while love is what turned Kaecillius to the dark side.

No. But it continued strange on his path it showed that despite his progress in his first movie he still had issues, I think it would have been interesting if they had ended up in a universe where strange had died but the ancient one lived to fight Thanos and that she gave him more advice about his controlling issue (something like, "that's why you didn't see any other way... you were always looking at the largest picture but missing the small details" or something like that) Chávez played a maguffin in the movie but the actress was mostly fine they just didn't know where to go with her and couldn't really use her in any of the fights (no one uses young girls in fight scenes unless it's featuring a bad organization) and from what I remember Chávez in the comics didn't really back down from fights (I am glad that they made her younger so there wouldn't be an implied romance between her and strange but it came at the cost of using her in action)

Just some speculation, but i think this is why the ancient one was reluctant to teach strange. She says that she has peered into many timelines and they all lead to that conversation with him. Basically this means that she ultimately knew that she would teach him the mystic arts and that it was the precursor to her death. For all her power she is still human and very clearly states that she cant see any further than her death. She was afraid to die just like everyone else. Maybe she was still clinging to the hope that she could survive if strange never became her pupil. However, the imminent return of dormammu meant that she had to teach strange, and so she relented. Think this scene also shows how he had changed. As a doctor he was cold towards his patients. In the start of the movie, a woman hugs him after he saves a family member, he turns away and just gives her an uncomfortable pat on the back. Here he holds the ancient ones hand and shows true heartbreak for her passing. Even if he was able to go back to being a doctor, again, with his hands healed, he would have been a better person.

I think Martin Scorsese said that Marvel movies aren't cinema simply because he hasn't actually looked at what they're trying to do. He hasn't seen the whole painting, he's only looked at the individual fragments.
These movies on their own are pretty good...some not as good lol but that's not really how they're meant to be seen. These aren't separate movies that are one and done, the plotlines span over years of character building. It's actually quite remarkable and it's even at a breaking bad level of detail. Every single new thing/idea that gets introduced is meaningful in some way and it's introduced incredibly seamlessly.
An recent example is Blade, we know he's coming but they've already introduced us to his world through small details in Loki. Should the movies be able to stand solely on their own? Yeah probably but that's not how these are made and it's not how most people see them. A show as a whole isn't priased for how it's individual episodes stand on their own, its praised for the overarching story of each episode.
Some people scoff at Marvel movies but as a filmmaker, it's honestly one of the greatest cinematic experiences I've ever had. Seriously I kept my tickets for each movie because I know my kids will be amazed to know that I was in the theatre those days. I watched Iron-Man 1 as a 7 yr old kid and have seen every movie in the series since then. So when I saw Endgame, I cried what? maybe 3-4 times? I cared so much about these characters and Marvel rewarded me for sticking with them the whole way through with a payoff that ties it all together into a perfect bow.
Seeing Ironman, Captain America, Dr. Strange, THOR!!! and SO many others for the first time and then continuing to see him through out the other movies has been one of the most uniquely rewarding journeys I've ever had. There's just nothing like it and I'm so incredibly grateful to be alive as it's happening. The level of character development is insane, no other movie has done it like they have. It's pure movie magic and I can guarantee that none Marty's movies have done it quite like Marvel has.
Cinema is art and art is only art when it makes you feel something. If you see the entire saga from beginning to end like I have and it didn't make you feel anything? Then I don't know what will.

I studied film and we were taught that because you read from left to right, characters on the left are usually seen to have more power or importance (a bit of a long shot for most films). However in this scene, Doctor Strange is constantly on the left and as soon as she delivers the "its not about you" line, the camera dramatically changes as he realises he's not as important/self obsessed as he once was. He really begins to focus on what she's saying and takes on the life lesson. This simple un-missed camera change really adds that oomf to the scene, brilliant work!

I love how she says, "do you know what I see in your future...?" He says NO. And she gives him the most elegant "I'm dying here, hear me out..." Look. 🌌

Im a DC fan but I love this scene. It's really beautiful. This and Loki's death in TDW are some of my favourites in the MCU.

Actually, she lied because she knew his future on Endgame.

She said she never saw his future only it’s possibilities. Meaning she saw possibly millions of possible futures for him just not a definite one

Not necessarily. She could only see until the point of her death. She saw Strange became her pupil eventually, event 5 years prior that. She did not actually know what threat was coming upon earth at that point. She refused Strange at the start of the Doctor Strange, because she still wasn't sure about him until her death, was he going to turn into Kaecillius or something better. She is even surprised by Bruce's statement about Strange giving up the stone to Thanos. To make it short, there is not a single proof that she lied.

I just realized that face. The ancient one’s actors is the one who played the white witch. From Narnia.
