dwyrin is a full time U.S Go player and teacher - Zábava
By popular request~ Some great go servers to play on!
i have a serious addiction to dwyrin content - you are the best batts
Been playing on various servers for awhile but somehow I still find this very interesting
THANK YOU!
Gave you a Like!
Great Video! Thanks for showing us the Online Go Options! But can you type a short info which Server has which kind of style?
11:24 XD LMAO
Btw very helpful video
Love the mac hate as well, very funny :)
Buen video.
What sgf editor are you using?
Yo, thanks for this video.
Since most of the Fox buttons are not really translated, is there any tutorial on what those features are, like the betting or analysis stuff?
Or if not, would it be possible to do a follow-up to this video? :)
if you go to google transalte there is a handwriting input method. simply write the chinese word and it will translate for you :) eg: translate.google.com/#view=home&op=translate&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&text=%E5%A5%BD
Thank you for this video! KGS giving me those nostalgic Hikaru no Go vibes :)
I signed up on Fox, but keep getting annoying red card notifications! Does anybody here know how to turn them off? Can't find an option in settings
Could you advice how to change avatar on Fox server? Is it free or only for money?
I played some games at kgs, but will play at pandanet too, will be great with more weak players as I am
23:45 I'm confused. Do the ranks on Tygem and Fox not adjust based on your wins and losses? I know people smurf in video games, but how do you go 111-5 and not "level up"?
simple. they chose to start at the very bottom rank.
How do you change profile picture on Fox?
Another plus for OGS that I don't think was emphasized enough: the registration is close to zero effort. If you have a Google/Facebook account, you just log in with that. I don't think I ever created a username/password on OGS. I just logged in with my Google account, OGS took my email username and started from that. Nothing new to remember. Have a Chromebook? You may be SOL with most of the servers you've covered, but with OGS you're on in 10 seconds.
Agree, agree. Kids in schools use Chromebooks, and they can play instantly. And I also love that OGS has a completely separate forum for ideas, support, etc. The owners/developers are right there, answering questions and giving feedback. The automatic AI post-game reviews are unmatched. It’s the most quickly improving Go server in the world, in my opinion. forums.online-go.com

I would like to see, if youre doing something with another Go channel. If it´s a competition between you and another player with a channel, a lecture, comments or a team competition, of some of your followers and some the rival followers, which get some preparation and reviews from you and your rival, like from a coach.
I knew some of this, but I have always been scared to try the major Asian servers. Pandanet has changed a lot since I was last on it.
What I really want guidance on is how to set up Lizzie on my computer. There seem to be at least two seperate programs that have to talk to each other. I am sure it is straightforward, but the documentation isn't very clear.
I think Dwyrin is going to be very against the idea of making a video on how to set up a go computer software, based on his general stance on computer play.
If you pause you can see all of your OGS acounts name.
great video, but you missed a huge reason why people had wbaduk installed. it had a huge and awesome tsumego collection. i know ogs has one too and maybe the others, but like 7y ago wbaduk was the only one that had it. also wbaduk had the best news site for global news on go.
I can download the foxwq client but I can't register. It always times out. Any tips?
your connection to china must be worse than mine if youre timing out... try from another location?
i wonder why those servers have so many more people? KGS is such a nice client even tho it is outdated I am surprised so many people migrated to these glitchy clients.
Does the baduk club link work for anyone else? Their map doesn't load for me, either on phone or laptop, on firefox of chrome. Their search function only shows hopelessly unrelated places to where I am searching. I really don't know if it's just me but I presume Dwyrin would not be advertising for a defunct website.
Unfortunately, we've been hearing that a lot lately, so it isn't just you. We haven't yet figured out what the issue is, but I appreciate that you tried it out on multiple platforms and browsers, that helps give us some insight into the issue.
@@badukclub Mozilla on Ubuntu... not loading. Going to check back later, sounds like a cool map. Good luck fixxing it.
@@almer_ Thanks! Unfortunately it might be a few weeks as this is going to require us to rewrite some fundamental code, but I promise you we aren't going anywhere and will only continue to get better. The support is much appreciated!
@@badukclub Guys, it was so easy... I tried again (mozilla on Ubuntu) and nothing... then i installed HOLA free internet (free VPN), changed my location to the USA (im from the Netherlands)... and fixed it!!! Oh, and maybe I might have deactivated my addblocker to in the process... But check it... it works... install HOLA unblocker and set it to a foreign country and it will probably block the map, cheers, Almer
@@almer_ Nice work around! Although it's ridiculous that Mapbox would block the Netherlands. Still something we'll have to fix, but in the meantime, it's good to know there is a potential fix.
What would be the prime time for people to play in Korea Japan or China?
2pm to 12am is a good window ive found, their local times respectively.
which one is best for new players
OGS and KGS
I find it disturbing that WBaduk and FoxWQ only allow for passwords up to a length of 8-10.
Good video, very informative. Though, I do not understand why you would show so much of your static desktop the whole time. Consider making the browser or client application full screen or just move it to the left side or your screen.
help! Fox thinks Im 3dan (almost: Im actually 13kyu), how can I change that?
nope. when you register account you choose rank. when you play first game you get to fix the rank in case you picked too high or low. if you picked 3d after your first game.. youre stuck lol. time to make a new account!
@@dwyrin or Im ranking up on OGS and come back when Im 3d (in a week or so)
Thanks for the video, it's very helpful!. In linux i use wine (www.winehq.org/) for tygem and foxwq intead of virtualization. I guess iOS user can use that to.

I wonder if dragongoserver.net still exists?
Yes, i have 50+ games running in that server against 30k up to 5dan players

Hikaru no go got me here
The ad segues are improving--It's only a matter of time now before...
too bad kgs mobile app is really outdated..
KGS is beautiful
I have played a 6k player in Tygem who is actually a 2d and I won the game because I'm actually a 6d playing in my 5k account. Haha.
lol
