12/24/2019 Today I installed the transfer fuel pump on the John Deere 3020 Diesel. Have been enjoying some very mild weather for this time of year here in Middle Tennessee.
Tony mention you tonight on Gerrald farms live special Christmas video. Give it time friend, you’ll get there . Hope to see you and 3020 out working soon. Hey thanks for sharing! Happy New Year
Scott’s Small Farming and Things . I’m so appreciative to everyone who’s had a hand in wanting to help me. Including you Scott. I’m looking forward to burning a few gallons of diesel through the 3020 next couple days.
newtsfarm Appears that one of the elbow fittings has some seepage around the flare fitting. You know you can’t over tighten those flares or you could crack the flare. So I’m keeping an eye on it. I’m loving this warm weather. But it ends Saturday night. Looking forward to burning some diesel next couple days.
It looks like most things are easy to get to on a tractor. I never had to do anything on my Mahindra but change the oil. We but it new so wasn't need for much. With acreage a tractor is so nice.
Especially on the older tractors. Somewhat easy to work on. I know what my limits are though on what I can do. New tractors are nice, don't have leaks and have to check everything all the time! Lol... Thank you Mr. Tim for watching all the videos tonight.
William Rehberg Thank you Mr. William for supporting my channel and always commenting. Could be a minor seepage with a fitting on the pump. I explain in the next video. I may hit my goal of 100 subscribers by end of year!
MissouriOldTimer Yeah May have one of the elbow fittings seeping very slightly, so I may have to replace it. Or the flare could be not seating on the fitting. Don’t want to over tighten and crack the flare. I have 3 subscribers that I know of in TN. 2 of them always comment.
Missed this one on Christmas Day, hope you had a merry Christmas🎅🏼 With it’s beautiful green Christmas color, I think next year you should drape some colored christmas garland and lights on the 3020 and post it as a christmas card photo😁 ❤️💚😄
Emi That would be a first! I don’t know, maybe. Not a bad idea though! Was a good Christmas. What about your Christmas? Our warm weather is over for now. So I’ll be back on my normal video posting schedule I guess. Lol.. See ya! ✌️
Thank you for asking. In my previous video on 12/21/19 I expressed concern of the pump, but I edited most of that info out of that video due to trying to keep my videos short to keep viewer interest. Engine was reading about a quart overfull on engine oil. I knew it was the transfer pump. I've changed several of them. I'm changing oil and filter tomorrow. I pull that dipstick every time before I start the 3020. Thank you for taking time to comment.
@@WhoDat-cc8zo - I came really close I mean very very close to messing up the motor on the 4020 last year. I mean to say I was very very very close to messing up the motor on the 4020. diaphragm gets a hole in it and the fuel in the tank will drain right into the crankcase oil. yep, I check the oil every time now and it is all about looking to see if the level is up too.
Soybean Farmer I’ve heard you mention that in your videos. That would have been disastrous. Your right, you’ll destroy that engine in a heartbeat. I didn’t hesitate in changing this pump. I only ran it for a few minutes at time of discovery. I had to load that little Dearborn disk for the gentleman. Good chatting with you tonight.

Glad to hear that the pump worked out. It's been really warm up here in northeast Ohio too but not near as warm as down your way.

why did the lift pump need to be changed? did the diaphragm have a hole in it?
