That’s going to be super handy to have around! I could have used something like that the other week to assist in unloading logs from my utility trailer. I boogers up the sides and fenders a bit with my tractor loader, trying to reach with the grapple. It probably wouldn’t be difficult to fabricate some type of log grabber attachment for this purpose.
Thanks Michael! Logs and a trailer with fenders don't mix too well. Maybe lay a 4x4 at the front and rear of the trailer. The you can easily wrap a chain around the log and lift it off.
Roger I have a boom for my 3 pt but it definitely makes a lot of sense to put in front where you can lift higher with more control. Thanks for sharing!👍
Thanks Tony. I may may make a boom for the 3 point also since I don't have a loader on the BX. Thanks for watching!
Liked watching you work. Your hand at plasma cutting is really good. I will build mine in a month. The rust isn't the problem really, it's the mill scale that is on the plates. When it comes out of the cooling bath, it makes a protective coat. Always grind or sand that to shiny metal, it's like a paint coating. Wire wheels don't work as well for me as a grinding disc or flapper wheel, sanding is faster for me.
Thanks, I have a a lot to learn about the plasma and I know that old metal was making the learning curve harder. I precleaned the metal on another project and it seemed to work better. What flap wheels do you use. The Walter ones are $10 now and that adds up quickly on a project.
That looks like it's going to be very useful !!!
Thanks Eric, I believe it will be.
Looks like a nice boom design, Roger. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Take it easy my friend. Don 👍🏽🤠 9/5/22
Thanks Don! How have you been?
@@TractorTech Doing well. I just finished constructing my rifle range backstop and I'll have all the extra touches done next week. The heat has been terrible all summer long and now we're about to go into the rainy season, I guess. Take it easy. 👍🏽🤠 9/5/22
